We report the clinical case of a 40-year-old Italian woman, who soon after her booster vaccination with mRNA-1273 after the two previous vaccinations with BNT162b2, developed severe headache, high fever, and Musculo-skeletal pain. She went to the emergency department, where computerized tomography (CT) scans of chest and brain were performed, resulting in both negative for pathologic findings. On the contrary, white blood count was strongly lowered and D-dimer severely elevated. She improved after treatment with enoxaparin and the blood analyses returned in the normal range after ten days. This case supports the hypothesis that COVID-19 vaccines could increase blood clotting in some predisposed subjects. Therefore, we believe that robust and well-designed clinical trials, considering the evaluation of D-dimer levels, should be performed to eliminate any doubts on this issue.

Twenty-seven cases of adverse reaction in postoperative chemotherapy of breast cancer treated with acupoint catgut-embedding therapy

Objective To observe the effect of acupoint catgut-embedding therapy on adverse reaction in chemotherapy of breast cancer. Methods Fifty-four cases were randomly divided into a comprehensive acupuncture and moxibustion group and a western medicine group, 27 cases in each group. All the postoperative cases with breast cancer used the CAF chemotherapy regimen. In the comprehensive acupuncture and moxibustion group, acupoint catgut-embedding therapy was applied to Tiānshū （天枢 ST 25）, Wèishū （胃俞 BL 21） and Zúsānlǐ （足三里 ST 36）, etc., and moxibustion was used at Zúsānlǐ （足三里 ST 36）. In the western medicine group, Ondansetron Hydrochloride, Metoclopramide, Metoclopramide and Qianglishengbai Tablets for oral administration were prescribed. A course was 28 days, and the whole treatment included 6 courses. The status of intake, nausea and vomiting were observed, and the leukocyte was detected before and after chemotherapy. Results After treatment, The status of intake in the comprehensive acupuncture and moxibustion group was superior to that in the western medicine group （P〈0.05）. The total effective rate on controlling nausea and vomiting in the comprehensive acupuncture and moxibustion group was 88.9% （24/27）, which was higher than that of 51.8% （14/27） in the western medicine group （P〈0.05）, the improving leukocyte effective rate was 92.6% （25/27） in comprehensive acupuncture and moxibustion group, which was higher than that of 77.8% （21/27） in western medicine group （P〈0.05）. Conclusion Acupoint catgut-embedding therapy can relieve the gastrointestinal reaction and improve patients’ immunity and quality of life during chemotherapy.

The effects of Chinese herbal medicines on Madopar dose and adverse reaction during the maintenance phase of Parkinson's disease:a systematic review with meta-analysis

Using the Delphi method to propose a food for special medical purposes(FSMP) adverse reaction monitoring indicators, lays the foundation for the formation of a big data model for human health testing and a big data platform for health and safety evaluation of special medical foods. Methods The Delphi method was used to conduct two rounds of expert consultation on the constructed FSMP adverse reaction monitoring system and to determine the final adverse reaction monitoring system. Results After two rounds of expert consultation, ten major items were finally determined. Among them, there were 10 primary entries, 32 secondary entries, 50 tertiary entries and 28 quaternary entries. Conclusion The complete monitoring system contains ten entries of baseline information, nutritional treatment plan, adverse reactions, gastrointestinal tolerance, tube placement complications, medication use, 24 h fluid intake and output, nutritional adequacy index, effect index, and other indexes, which can comprehensively and systematically monitor the adverse reactions in the use of FSMP and lay the foundation for the big data platform of special food health and safety evaluation.

[Objectives]To analyze the occurrence rules and factors influencing adverse reactions of breviscapine for injection,explore potential drug risks,and guide the clinical rational medication.[Methods]The retrospective analysis method was used to analyze the case reports of adverse reactions of breviscapine for injection,and analyze the gender and age distribution of the cases,the patient's medication status,the adverse reactions involving organ/system damage and clinical manifestations,the occurrence time,duration,and outcome of the adverse reactions.[Results]adverse reactions of breviscapine for injection were mainly concentrated in middle-aged and elderly patients aged 45 and above,accounting for 85.35%;in the gender distribution,females were higher than males;adverse reactions involved multiple organ/system *** them,75.86%of patients had adverse reactions after the first medication,and 11.77%of reported patients had concomitant medications.[Conclusions]The adverse reactions caused by breviscapine for injection may be related to the patient's age,gender and irrational medication.

Objective This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the current attention and intervention of oncologists on oxaliplatin(OXA)-induced adverse reactions(ADRs).Methods In 31 provinces or administrative regions across China,401 oncologists were surveyed through a self-designed *** survey queried the basic information of respondents,clinical use of OXA,OXA-induced ADRs,and relative ***-square tests and multiple logistic regression were used to explore the sociodemographic factors influencing the safety perception of OXA and the relevant *** The survey showed that the age of respondents was mainly distributed between 30 and 40 years and the working period for most oncologists was no more than 5 *** with long working years were more willing to conduct patient education and inquire about ADRs than those with short working *** rate of ADRs reported by oncologists with intermediate professional titles was significantly higher than that reported by oncologists with junior and senior professional *** Our findings indicate that oncologists in China's Mainland are concerned about OXA-induced ADRs,but the reporting of ADRs still needs to be ***,training and educational programs are urgently needed to improve the risk management of OXA-induced ADRs among oncologists.

Objective:To explore the effect of bevacizumab combined with neoadjuvant chemotherapy in advanced ovarian cancer and the occurrence of adverse ***:A total of 80 patients with advanced ovarian cancer,treated in Affiliated People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University from June 2019 to December 2020,were randomly divided into two *** the chemotherapy group,40 patients were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy,while in the combined group,another 40 patients were treated with bevacizumab combined with neoadjuvant *** therapeutic effects were compared at the end of the treatment ***:There was no significant difference in the levels of CA125,CEA,and VEGF between the two groups before ***,after the treatment cycle,the levels of CA125,CEA,and VEGF in the combined group were significantly better than those in the chemotherapy group(Padverse reactions of the chemotherapy group was 67.50%,which was significantly higher than that of the combined group(35.00%;Padverse *** has high clinical promotion value.
