When evaluating ionic liquids(ILs) for extractive desulfurization(EDS) of fuel oils, the inevitable presence of water in the system may have a significant and in many cases strongly negative effect. However, few studies have considered this particular issue and a promoted water effect on EDS is scarcely reported. In this work,COSMO-RS was firstly employed to calculate the capacity and selectivity for EDS of various IL/H_2 O mixtures,which cover different IL characters and a wide water concentration range. Experiments were then conducted with a representative IL [C_4MIM][H_2PO_4], whose stable and even promoted extraction performance with a small amount of water was suggested by COSMO-RS. Through analyses of the desulfurization ratio, the crosssolubility and the water content in the desulfurized fuel, the promoted effect of water within a certain range(b 10 wt%) was experimentally demonstrated. Moreover, such effect of water was explained combining the viscosity, the solvent–solute interactions and the COSMO-RS based analysis.

Density,pH,viscosity,conductivity and the Raman spectra of aqueous NaB(OH)4 solutions precisely measured as functions of concentration at different temperatures(293.15,298.15,303.15,313.15 and 323.15 K) are presented.Polyborate distributions in aqueous NaB(OH)4 solution were calculated,covering all the concentration range,4B(OH) is the most dominant species,other polyborate anions are less than 5.0%.The volumetric and the transport properties were discussed in detail,both of these properties indicate that4B(OH) behaves as a structure-disordered anion.

We tested the utility of chemical marking techniques in the juvenile black rockfish Sebastes schlegelii. Juveniles(30–40 mm total length) were immersed in a range of tetracycline hydrochloride(TC) solutions at concentrations ranging from 300 to 500 mg/L, and alizarin complexone(ALC) solutions at concentrations ranging from 200 to 400 mg/L in filtered sea water(salinity of 30) for 24 h, respectively. Otoliths(sagittae, asteriscus), scales, fin rays(dorsal, pectoral, ventral, anal, and caudal fin rays), and fin spines(dorsal, ventral, and anal fin spines) were sampled and used to detect fl uorescent marks after a 60-day growth experiment. With the exception of 300 mg/L TC, acceptable marks were produced in the otoliths and fin spines by all concentrations of TC and ALC. In particular, we observed clearly visible marks in the sagittae, asteriscus, and fin spines under normal light at concentrations of 200–400 mg/L, 250–400 mg/L, and 250–400 mg/L ALC, respectively. Scales and fin rays had acceptable marks at much higher concentrations(≥350 mg/L TC, ≥250 mg/L ALC for scales and ≥350 mg/L TC, ≥300 mg/L ALC for fin rays). The best mark quality(i.e., acceptable marks were observed in all sampled structures after immersion marking) were obtained following immersion in TC at between 350–500 mg/L, and ALC between 300–400 mg/L. In addition, there was no significant difference in survival and growth of TC and ALC marked fish compared to their controls up to 60 days post-marking( P > 0.05).

环境现状调查和污染源调查等监测工作一直作为环保工作中重要的评价内容,其中监测数据的准确性会直接影响到环评、竣工环保验收等环保报告结论的可信度和正确性。同一个监测因子会有多种不同的检测方法,选择不适用的检测方法可能会导致监测结果失真或出现偏差,从而导致得出的评价结论不可靠甚至是错误。在制定监测方案时应就不同监测分析方法的不同适用范围和检出限、待测样品的特点、执行的相关标准限值等进行对比分析,从而更科学地选择适用的检测方法,以保证监测结果的准确可靠。

The concentrations of 28 organochlorine pesticides(OCPs)in the urban air of Dalian,China were measured using semipermeable membrane devices(SPMDs)for the first time.Alpha-hexachlorocyclohexane(a-HCH),b-HCH,pentachlorobenzene(PentCB),hexachlorobenzene(HexCB),4,40-dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane(4,40-DDT),4,40-dichlorodiphenyldichloroethene,endosulfan-I and endosulfan-II were the predominant OCPs in the urban air of Dalian.The concentration of OCPs sequestrated by SPMDs(CSPMD)ranged from undetected to 56,772 pg SPMD-1and had a linear correlation with the reciprocal of the average ambient atmospheric temperature(1/T).The CSPMDof PentCB and HexCB had negative correlations with T,whereas the other detected OCPs had a positive correlation.The source of HCHs,DDTs,HexCB,PentCB,chlordane,and endosulfan in the air were also evaluated.The OCPs in the urban air of Dalian could be attributed to the seasonal usage of pesticides,combustion,volatilization of aged OCPs from soil,water,plants,and long-range atmospheric transport.

Twenty-eight surface soil samples from 5 functional zones(park, traffic roadside, business/residential area, rural area, and industrial area) of¨Ur¨umqi, China were collected and analyzed for the concentrations of 14 organochlorine pesticides(OCPs), such as 3 isomers of hexachlorocyclohexane(HCHs)(α-HCH, β-HCH, and γ-HCH), 4 dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes(DDTs)(p, p′-DDT and its metabolites p, p′-DDD(1,1-dichloro-2,2-bis(p-chlorophenyl)ethane) and p, p′-DDE(1,1-dichloro-2,2-bis(4-chorophenyl)ethylene), and o, p′-DDT), and methoxychlor, aiming to survey the residue levels and compositions of these 14 OCPs, to identify possible sources of the OCPs, and to assess their potential risks to human health and the environment in surface soils of¨Ur¨umqi. The concentrations ranged from non-detected to 30.86 μg kg-1for HCHs(sum of α-, β-, and γ-HCH), from non-detected to 40.03 μg kg-1for DDTs(sum of p, p′-DDT, p, p′-DDD, p, p′-DDE, and o, p′-DDT), and from non-detected to 11.95 μg kg-1for methoxychlor. The total concentrations of the OCPs ranged from 16.40 to 84.86 μg kg-1, with a mean of 41.89 ± 16.25 μg kg-1. According to the measured concentrations and occurrence rates of the 14 OCPs, DDTs, HCHs, and methoxychlor were the most dominant compounds. Among the 5 functional zones, the total concentration of OCPs was in the order of rural area > traffic roadside > park > business/residential area > industrial area. The different compositions of DDTs and HCHs indicated that the residues of these compounds in most soil samples originated from historical application, besides slight recent introduction at some sampling sites. The results of Pearson correlation analysis showed that soil total organic carbon played an important role in the residue levels of HCHs, but such relationships were not found with DDTs or other OCPs. The soil quality of¨Ur¨umqi was classified as Class I based on the guidelines of the Chinese Environmental Quality Standard for Soil(GB15618-1995), indicating that the residue levels of OCPs have little risks
