Design and characterization of a 3D encapsulation with silicon vias for radio frequency micro-electromechanical system resonator

In this paper, we present a three-dimensional（3D） vacuum packaging technique at a wafer level for a radio frequency micro-electromechanical system（RF MEMS） resonator, in which low-loss silicon vias is used to transmit RF ***–Sn solder bonding is adopted to provide a vacuum encapsulation as well as electrical conductions. A RF model of the encapsulation cap is established to evaluate the parasitic effect of the packaging, which provides an effective design solution of 3D RF MEMS encapsulation. With the proposed packaging structure, the signal-to-background ratio（SBR） of 24 dB is achieved, as well as the quality factor（Q-factor） of the resonator increases from 8000 to 10400 after *** packaged resonator has a linear frequency–temperature（ f –T） characteristic in a temperature range between 0℃ and 100℃. And the package shows favorable long-term stability of the Q-factor over 200 days, which indicates that the package has excellent hermeticity. Furthermore, the average shear strength is measured to be 43.58 MPa among 10 samples.

The improvement of question soils with cement shows great technical, economic and environmental advantages. And interest in introducing electrical resistivity measurement to assess the quality of cement treated soils has increased markedly recently due to its economical, non-destructive, and relatively non-invasive advantages. This work aims to quantify the effect of cement content （aw）, porosity （nt）, and curing time（T） on the electrical resistivity （p） and unconfined compression strength （UCS） of cement treated soil. A series of electrical resistivity tests and UCS tests of cement treated soil specimen after various curing periods were carried out. A modified Archie empirical law was proposed taking into account the effect of cement content and curing period on the electrical resistivity of cement treated soil. The results show that nt/（aw·T） and nt/（aw·T^1/2） ratio are appropriate parameters to assess electrical resistivity and UCS of cement treated soil, respectively. Finally, the relationship between UCS and electrical resistivity was also established.

The geomagnetic field(GMF)is well documented for its essential role as a cue used in animal orientation or *** evidence indicates that the absence of GMF(mimicked by the near-zero magnetic field,NZMF)can trigger stress-like responses such as reduced body weight,as we have previously shown in the brown planthopper,Nilaparvata *** this study,we found that consistent with the significantly decreased body weight of newly emerged female(—14.67%)and male(—13.17%)adult ***,the duration of the phloem ingestion feeding waveform was significantly reduced by 32.02%in 5th instar nymphs reared under the NZMF versus ***,5th instar nymphs that exhibited reduced feeding had significantly higher glucose levels(+16.98%and+20.05%;24 h and 48 h after molting),which are associated with food aversion,and expression patterns of their appetite-related neuropeptide genes(neuropeptide F,dow regulated overall;short neuropeptide F,dowregulated overall;adipokinetic hormone up-regulated overall;and adipokinetic hormone receptor,down-regulated overall)were also altered under the absence of GMF in a manner consistent with diminishing ***,the expressions of the potential magnetosensor croptochromes(Crys)were found significantly altered under the absence of GMF,indicating the likely upstream signaling of the Cry-mediated magnetoreception *** findings support the hypothesis that strong changes in GMF intensity can reduce adult body weight through affecting insect feeding behavior and underlying regulatory processes including appetite *** results highlight that GMF could be necessary for the maintenanee of energy homeostasis in insects.

Isolation of Nanjing Local Strains of HHV-7 and Their Biological and Immunological Characteristics

To investigate the biological and immunological characteristics of the Nanjing local strains of HHV-7,four strains of herpesvirus were isolated from saliva specimens of one healthy individual and three children suffering from a kidney disease in *** viruses were identified by transmission electron microscopy (EM),indirect immunofluorescence assay(IFA) with a specific monoclonal antibody;nested polymerase chain reaction,restriction mapping and DNA *** virus-infected cells showed the typical cytophathic effect(CPE) under microscopy and could be detected by IFA with the human herpesvirus-7(HHV-7) specific *** EM,herpesvirus-like and virions capsids could be found in their cytoplasm or nucleoplasm. HHV-7 DNA fragments amplified from infected cells by nested PCR were confirmed by restriction mapping and DNA *** to DC strain,an known HHV-7 strain used in the present study as the positive control,the virus could be inactivated by ultraviolet irradiation for 10 min,heated at 45℃ for 30 min,pH9 at 4℃ for 2 h and ether or chloroform for 10 *** virus induced the production of TNF-α,IL-10 and IL-12p70 while inhibited IFN-γ secretion,increased the percentage of CD2^+ cells while decreased that of CD4^+ or CD45RA^+ *** results indicate that the viruses isolated in Nanjing are HHV-7,which has similar biological characteristic to the known HHV-7 strain,*** with HHV-7 in vitro could affect immune function of lymphocytes by disturbing cytokine production and CD antigen *** & Molecular Immunology.2004;1(5):367-372.

Internet of things(IoT)technology has been constantly applied in greenhouse environmental monitoring and control in recent *** acquisition and control parameters,network protocols are different for the various purposes of the *** factors are the keys to the abilities to effectively communicate and transfer meaningful data in IoT *** achieve the adaptive matching of data communication between the gateway and server in a greenhouse IoT system,a data encapsulation method based on XML was designed to enable data interoperability in a distributed greenhouse IoT ***,the behaviour of the Multi-Agent System(MAS)was used to merge the heterogeneous information and the responses for data synchronization in the greenhouse IoT *** data communication mechanism for real-time and cumulative data synchronization between the gateway and server based on JADE was tested in a specific *** results showed that the data loss rate between the data acquisition unit and the gateway was 1.52%,and the data loss rate was 0.4%between the gateway and the server;therefore,the mechanism could be feasibly applied to the data communication for a greenhouse IoT system.

The anti-tumor effect of therapeutic carbon monoxide(CO)has been considered concerning the electron transport chain on the inner mitochondrial ***,a tumor microenvironment and photo-responsive CO nanoplatform Ca-Flav nanoparticles(NPs)were constructed through biomineralizing acryloyl-modified flavonol,which could release CO both in normoxia and hypoxia conditions upon irradiation at tumor *** in vitro experiments demonstrated that the endoplasmic reticulum stress-related signal pathways could be activated through oxidative stress caused by CO mediated mitochondrial biogenesis and calcium ion turbulence induced by Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)acidolysis,resulting in mitochondrial dysfunction and cell *** addition,the Ca-Flav NPs exhibited excellent biocompatibility and tumor inhibition effect in *** work provides new insight into the potential characteristics of CO,paving a new way to engineer more efficient treatment based on CO.

Contribution of friction and adhesion to the reliable attachment of a gecko to smooth inclines

Geckos' ability to move on steep surfaces depends on their excellent adhesive structure, timely adjustments on locomotor behaviors, and elaborates control on reaction forces. However, it is still unclear how they can generate a sufficient driving force that is necessary for locomotion, while ensuring reliable adhesion on steep inclines. We measured the forces acting on each foot and recorded the contact states between feet and substrates when geckos encountered smooth inclination challenges ranging from 0° to 180°. The critical angles of the resultant force vectors of the front and hind-feet increased with respect to the incline angles. When the incline angle became greater than 120°, the critical angles of the front- and hind-feet were similar, and the averages of the critical angles of the front - and hind-feet were both smaller than 120°, indicating that the complicated and accurate synergy among toes endows gecko's foot an obvious characteristic of "frictional adhesion" during locomotion. Additionally, we established a contact mechanical model for gecko's foot in order to quantify the contribution of the frictional forces generated by the heel, and the adhesion forces generated by the toes on various inclines. The synergy between multiple contact mechanisms(friction or adhesion) is critical for the reliable attachment on an inclined surface, which is impossible to achieve by using a single-contact mechanism, thereby increasing the animal's ability to adapt to its environment.

为优化铝中间合金细化剂的组织,提升细化性能,采用熔配法工艺合成新型Al-Ti-B-RE中间合金晶粒细化剂,合成反应基于热力学和动力学分析是可能的、存在的、自发向右进行,在适当的工艺条件下,在基体中可生成均匀弥散分布的第二相Al_3Ti、TiB_2、Ti_2Al_(20)RE等粒子。采用X射线衍射(XRD)、扫描电镜(SEM)、光学显微镜(OM)和力学拉伸试验等分析方法对所合成材料的微观组织、细化效果及力学性能进行了表征。细化试验表明:自制的Al-5Ti-1B-1RE中间合金细化工业纯铝时,其平均晶粒尺寸小于150μm到达细晶粒度级别。拉伸试验表明:工业纯铝中加入0.2%自制的Al-5Ti-1B-1RE中间合金晶粒细化剂后有更优的机械性能,与未细化工业纯铝相比,抗拉强度提高了28.39 MPa,延伸率增加了29.97%,其性能明显优于某国产的Al-5Ti-1B丝中间合金细化剂。
