In order to quantify the influence of external forcings on the predictability limit using observational data,the author introduced an algorithm of the conditional nonlinear local Lyapunov exponent(CNLLE)*** effectiveness of this algorithm is validated and compared with the nonlinear local Lyapunov exponent(NLLE)and signal-to-noise ratio methods using a coupled Lorenz *** results show that the CNLLE method is able to capture the slow error growth constrained by external forcings,therefore,it can quantify the predictability limit induced by the external *** this basis,a preliminary attempt was made to apply this method to measure the influence of ENSO on the predictability limit for both atmospheric and oceanic variable *** spatial distribution of the predictability limit induced by ENSO is similar to that arising from the initial conditions calculated by the NLLE *** similarity supports ENSO as the major predictable signal for weather and climate *** addition,a ratio of predictability limit(RPL)calculated by the CNLLE method to that calculated by the NLLE method was *** RPL larger than 1 indicates that the external forcings can significantly benefit the long-term predictability *** instance,ENSO can effectively extend the predictability limit arising from the initial conditions of sea surface temperature over the tropical Indian Ocean by approximately four months,as well as the predictability limit of sea level pressure over the eastern and western Pacific ***,the impact of ENSO on the geopotential height predictability limit is primarily confined to the troposphere.

The rapid development of artificial intelligence poses an urgent need for low-energy-consumption and small-sized artificial photonic ***,it is pretty novel to demonstrate a light-stimulated synaptic device based on a single(Al,Ga)N nanowire *** to the presence of vacancy defects in the single nanowire,the artificial synaptic device can simulate multiple functions of biological synapses under stimulation of both 310 and 365 nm light photons,including paired-pulse facilitation,spike timing dependent plasticity,and memory learning *** energy consumption of artificial synaptic device can be reduced as little as 5.58×10^(-13) J,which is close to that of the biological synapse in human ***,the synaptic device is demonstrated to have the high stability for both long-time stimulation and long-time *** on the experimental conductance of long-term potentiation and long-term depression,the simulated three-layer neural network can achieve a high recognition rate of 92%after only 10 training *** a brain-like behavior,the single-nanowire-based synaptic devices can promote the development of visual neuromorphic computing technology and artificial intelligence systems requiring ultralow energy consumption.

Rare earth elements and transition metals have been found to improve the hydrogen storage characteristics of magnesium-based *** study investigated the Mg-Ho-Fe(MHF) ternary alloy prepared using the vacuum induction melting technique.X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),pressure-composition-temperature(PCT),and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) were used to analyze the alloy's phase transitions,microstructure,thermodynamics,and kinetic *** results reveal that the Mg_(98)Ho_(1.5)Fe_(0.5) alloy forms a solid solution with Ho and Fe in the magnesium *** hydrogen absorption,the activated alloy transforms into a mixture of Mg/MgH_(2) phases and nanoscale HoH_(2) ***,only the MgH_(2) phase decomposes during hydrogen desorption,while the HoH_(2) phase remains unchanged,exhibiting a positive catalytic *** alloy demonstrates excellent hydrogen absorption kinetics,achieving a capacity of 5.56 wt% H_(2) within 10 min at 360℃,owing to the combined catalytic effects of Ho and *** activation energy for hydrogen desorption is found to be 135.87 kJ/mol,which is lower than that of the activation energies of pure MgH_(2) and MgFe alloys,indicating an enhancement in desorption ***,the enthalpy and entropy changes for hydrogen absorption and desorption are determined to be-70.51 kJ/mol H_(2),-125.62 J/(K·mol) H_(2),72.83 kJ/mol H_(2),and 128.95 J/(K·mol) H_(2),***,it is worth noting that the thermodynamic properties of the alloy are improved due to the catalytic effect of Ho and Fe.

Shallow convection plays an important role in transporting heat and moisture from the near-surface to higher altitudes,yet its parameterization in numerical models remains a great challenge,partly due to the lack of high-resolution *** study describes a large eddy simulation(LES)dataset for four shallow convection cases that differ primarily in inversion strength,which can be used as a surrogate for real *** reduce the uncertainty in LES modeling,three different large eddy models were used,including SAM(System for Atmospheric Modeling),WRF(Weather Research and Forecasting model),and *** show that the different models generally exhibit similar behavior for each shallow convection case,despite some differences in the details of the convective *** addition to grid-averaged fields,conditionally sampled variables,such as in-cloud moisture and vertical velocity,are also provided,which are indispensable for calculation of the entrainment/detrainment *** the essentiality of the entraining/detraining process in the parameterization of cumulus convection,the dataset presented in this study is potentially useful for validation and improvement of the parameterization of shallow convection.

Structural effects of sulfonamides on the proliferation dynamics of sulfonamide resistance genes in the sequencing batch reactors and the mechanism

Antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)can be easily promoted by antibiotics,however,the structural effects of antibiotics on the proliferation of ARGs dynamic and the associated mechanisms remain obscure in,especially,activated sludge sequencing batch *** the present study,the effects of 9 sulfonamides(SAs)with different structures on the proliferation dynamic of sulfonamide resistance genes(Suls)in the activated sludge sequencing batch reactors and the corresponding mechanisms were determined(30 days),and the results showed that the largest proliferation value(ΔA^(R))of Suls dynamic for SAs(sulfachloropyridazine)was approximately 2.9 times than that of the smallest one(sulfadiazine).The proliferation of Suls was significantly related to the structural features(minHBint6,SssNH,SHBd and SpMax2_Bhm)that represent the biological activity of *** interpret the phenomenon,a mechanistic model was developed and the results indicated that the biodegradation of SAs(T_(1/2))rather than conjugative transfer frequency or mutation frequency tends to be the key process for affecting Suls proliferation.T_(1/2)was proved to be dependent on the interactions between SAs and receptors(E_(binding)),the cleavage mode(bond dissociation energy),and the site of nucleophilic ***,the metagenomic analysis showed that SAs posed significant effect on antibiotic resistome and Tnp31 played a vital role in the proliferation of ***,our findings provide important insight into a theoretical basis for understanding the structural effects of SAs on the proliferation of ARGs in SBR systems.

Polymers of intrinsic microporosity shows great potential for dye adsorption and magnetic Fe_(3)O_(4) are easy to be *** this work,hydrolyzed polymers of intrinsic microporosity-1/Fe_(3)O_(4) composite adsorbents were prepared by phase inversion and hydrolysis process for cationic dye *** chemical structure and morphology of the composite adsorbents were systematically characterized by several characterization *** methylene blue as the target dye,the influences of solution pH,contact time,initial dye concentration,and system temperature on the methylene blue adsorption process were *** incorporation of Fe_(3)O_(4) particle into hydrolyzed polymers of intrinsic microporosity-1 endow the adsorbent with high magnetic saturation(20.7 emu·g^(–1))which allows the rapid separation of the ***,the adsorption process was simulated by adsorption kinetics,isotherms and thermodynamics to gain insight onto the intrinsic adsorption *** addition,the composite adsorbents are able to selectively adsorb cationic dyes from mixed dyes *** polymers of intrinsic microporosity/Fe_(3)O_(4) shows only a slight decrease for methylene blue adsorption after 10 adsorption/regeneration cycles,demonstrating the outstanding regeneration *** high adsorption capacity,outstanding regeneration ability,together with simple preparation method,endow the composite adsorbents great potential for selective removal of cationic dyes in wastewater system.

Spin qubits and superconducting qubits are promising candidates for realizing solid-state quantum information *** a hybrid architecture that combines the advantages of different qubits on the same chip is a highly desirable but challenging *** we propose a hybrid architecture that utilizes a high-impedance SQUID array resonator as a quantum bus,thereby coherently coupling different solid-state *** employ a resonant exchange spin qubit hosted in a triple quantum dot and a superconducting transmon *** this hybrid system is highly tunable,it can operate in a dispersive regime,where the interaction between the different qubits is mediated by virtual *** utilizing such interactions,entangling gate operations between different qubits can be realized in a short time of 30 ns with a fidelity of up to 96.5%under realistic parameter *** utilizing this interaction,remote entangled state between different qubits can be prepared and is robust to perturbations of various *** results pave the way for exploring efficient fault-tolerant quantum computation on hybrid quantum architecture platforms.

A designed Mg_(88.7)Ni_(6.3)Y_(5)hydrogen storage alloy containing 14H type LPSO(long-period stacking ordered)and ternary eutectic structure was prepared by regulating the alloy composition and *** hydrogen storage performance of the alloy was improved by adding nano-flower-like TiO_(2)@C *** decomposition of the LPSO structure during hydrogenation led to the formation of plenty of nanocrystals which provided abundant interphase boundaries and activation *** nanoscale TiO_(2)@C catalyst was uniformly dispersed on the surface of alloy particles,and the"hydrogen overflow''effect of TiO_(2)@C accelerated the dissociation and diffusion of hydrogen on the surface of the alloy *** a result,the in-situ endogenous nanocrystals of the LPSO structure decomposition and the externally added flower-like TiO_(2)@C catalyst uniformly dispersed on the surface of the nanoparticles played a synergistic catalytic role in improving the hydrogen storage performance of the Mg-based *** the addition of the TiO_(2)@C catalyst,the beginning hydrogen desorption temperature was reduced to 200℃.Furthermore,the saturated hydrogen absorption capacity of the sample was 5.32 wt.%,and it reached 4.25 wt.%H_(2) in 1 min at 200℃and 30 bar.
