This paper focuses on wireless-powered communication systems,which are increasingly relevant in the Internet of Things(IoT)due to their ability to extend the operational lifetime of devices with limited *** main contribution of the paper is a novel approach to minimize the secrecy outage probability(SOP)in these *** SOP is crucial for maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of data,especially in situations where the transmission of sensitive data is *** proposed method harnesses the power of an improved biogeography-based optimization(IBBO)to effectively train a recurrent neural network(Rnn).The proposed IBBO introduces an innovative migration *** core advantage of IBBO lies in its adeptness at maintaining equilibrium between exploration and *** is accomplished by integrating tactics such as advancing towards a random habitat,adopting the crossover operator from genetic algorithms(GA),and utilizing the global best(Gbest)operator from particle swarm optimization(PSO)into the IBBO *** IBBO demonstrates its efficacy by enabling the Rnn to optimize the system parameters,resulting in significant outage probability *** comprehensive simulations,we showcase the superiority of the IBBO-Rnn over existing approaches,highlighting its capability to achieve remarkable gains in SOP *** paper compares nine methods for predicting outage probability in wireless-powered *** IBBO-Rnn achieved the highest accuracy rate of 98.92%,showing a significant performance *** contrast,the standard Rnn recorded lower accuracy rates of 91.27%.The IBBO-Rnn maintains lower SOP values across the entire signal-to-noise ratio(SnR)spectrum tested,suggesting that the method is highly effective at optimizing system parameters for improved secrecy even at lower SnRs.

Comprehensive studies identify motor neuron spectrum disorders including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)as globally rising fatal disorders with the highest prevalence in aging populations,influenced by ethnicity and ancestry(GBD 2016 Motor neuron Disease Colla borators,2018).While~10% of diagnoses involve a family history(fALS),most cases are considered sporadic(sALS).However,population-based studies suggest that even cases without a common index mutation impart heritability(Ryan et al.,2019),indicating a crucial role of rare and as yet unknown genetic denominators.

The study of the hydrogen evolution reaction(HeR)aimed to reach a deeper understanding of the parameters that control the rate of this reaction is of great importance given the technical relevance of hydrogen production as an energy vector in the so-called hydrogen *** previous works,laser-induced temperature jump(LITJ)experiments on Pt(111)modified with ni(OH)_(2)in alkaline media have revealed the importance of the interfacial electric field in the rate of the *** was hypothesised that small amounts of ni(OH)_(2)cause a decrease of the electric field because of a negative shift of the pzfc toward the onset of the hydrogen *** this work,to test the validity of this hypothesis,the study has been extended to Pt(111)surfaces modified with Fe(OH)_(2).The modified surfaces have been studied voltammetrically,and the voltammetric charges have been *** voltammograms show a peak in the hydrogen evolution region that suggest the transformation in the adlayer from Fe(II)to Fe(0).In agreement with the coulometric analysis,the voltammetric features in the OH adsorption region would be related with the oxidation to the+3 valence *** results obtained with LITJ method reflect the existence of a strong interaction of the Fe oxophilic species with the water molecules,shifting the potential of maximum entropy away from the onset of the ***,the most catalytic surface is the one with the lowest Fe coverage.

Dissolved organic nitrogen （DOn） in soils has recently gained increasing interest because it may be both a direct n source for plants and the dominant available n form in nutrient-poor soils, however, its prevalence in Mediterranean ecosystems remains unclear. The aims of this study were to i） estimate soil DOn in a wide set of Mediterranean ecosystems and compare this levels with those for other ecosystems; ii） describe temporal changes in DOn and dissolved inorganic nitrogen （DIn） forms （nH＋ and nO3）, and characterize spatial heterogeneity within plant communities; and iii） study the relative proportion of soil DOn and DIn forms as a test of Schimel and Bennett＇s hypothesis that the prevalence of different n forms follows a gradient of nutrient availability. The study was carried out in eleven plant communities chosen to represent a wide spectrum of Mediterranean vegetation types, ranging from early to late successional status. DOn concentrations in the studied Mediterranean plant communities （0-18.2 mg n kg-1） were consistently lower than those found in the literature for other ecosystems. We found high temporal and spatial variability in soil DOn for all plant communities. As predicted by the Schimel and Bennett model for nutrient-poor ecosystems, DOn dominance over ammonium and nitrate was observed for most plant communities in winter and spring soil samples. However, mineral-n dominated over DOn in summer and autumn. Thus, soil water content may have an important effect on DOn versus mineral n dominance in Mediterranean ecosystems

Data is becoming increasingly *** regularly interact with a variety of structured data,ranging from SQLite databases on the phone to personal sensors and open government ***“digital traces left by individuals through these interactions”are sometimes referred to as“small data”.examples of“small data”include driving records,biometric measurements,search histories,weather forecasts and usage *** this paper,we present a flexible protocol called LoRaCTP,which is based on LoRa technology that allows data“chunks”to be transferred over large distances with very low energy *** provides all the mechanisms necessary to make LoRa transfer reliable by introducing a lightweight connection setup and allowing the ideal sending of an as-long-as necessary data *** designed this protocol as communication support for small-data edge-based IoT solutions,given its stability,low power usage,and the possibility to cover long *** evaluated our protocol using various data content sizes and communication distances to demonstrate its performance and reliability.

Contribution of the ear and the flag leaf to grainfilling in durum wheat inferred from the carbon isotope signature: Genotypic and growing conditions effects

The ear, together with the flag leaf, is believed to play a major role as a source of assimilates during grain filling in C3cereals. However, the intrusive nature of most of the available methodologies prevents reaching conclusive results in this regard. This study compares the carbon isotope composition（d13C） in its natural abundance in the water‐soluble fractions of the flag leaf blade and the ear with the d13C of mature kernels to assess the relative contribution of both organs to grain filling in durum wheat（Triticum turgidum L. ***）. The relative contribution of the ear was higher in landraces compared to modern cultivars, as well as in response to nitrogen fertilization and water stress. Such genotypic and environmentally driven differences were associated with changes in harvest index（HI）, with the relative contribution of the ear being negatively associated with HI. In the case of the genotypic differences, the lower relative contribution of the ear in modern cultivars compared with landraces is probably associated with the appearance in the former of a certain amount of source limitation driven by a higher HI. In fact, the relative contribution of the ear was far more responsive to changes in HI in modern cultivars compared with landraces.
