heterogeneous vehicular clustering integrates multiple types of communication networks to work efficiently for various vehicular *** popular form of heterogeneous network is the integration of long-term evolution(LTE)and dedicated short-range *** heterogeneity of such a network infrastructure and the non-cooperation involved in sharing cost/data are potential problems to solve.A vehicular clustering framework is one solution to these problems,but the framework should be formally verified and validated before being deployed in the real *** solve these issues,first,we present a het-erogeneous framework,named destination and interest-aware clustering,for vehicular clustering that integrates vehicular ad hoc networks with the LTE network for improving road traffic ***,we specify a model system of the proposed *** model is formally verified to evaluate its performance at the functional level using a model checking *** evaluate the performance of the proposed framework at the micro-level,a heterogeneous simulation environment is created by integrating state-of-the-art *** comparison of the simulation results with those of other known approaches shows that our proposed framework performs better.

We introduce the concept of Canonical Workflow Building Blocks(CWBB),a methodology of describing and wrapping computational tools,in order for them to be utilised in a reproducible manner from multiple workflow languages and execution *** concept is implemented and demonstrated with the BioExcel Building Blocks library(BioBB),a collection of tool wrappers in the field of computational biomolecular *** across different workflow languages is showcased through a protein Molecular Dynamics setup transversal workflow,built using this library and run with 5 different Workflow Manager Systems(WfMS).We argue such practice is a necessary requirement for FAIR Computational Workflows and an element of Canonical Workflow Frameworks for Research(CWFR)in order to improve widespread adoption and reuse of computational methods across workflow language barriers.

Plant pathogens can alter the behavior of their insect vectors as well as their survival and *** African psyllid,Trioza erytreae,is one of the vectors of huanglongbing,a citrus disease caused mainly by"Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus"(CLas).The purpose of this study was to characterize the effects of CLas on the psyllid,*** using Citrus volkamerina plants as the study *** study focused more specifically on the CLas effects prior to and after its acquisition by the psyllid *** results did not support the hypothesis that CLas effects psyllid probing behavior prior to acquisition;few differences were observed between uninfected *** feeding on CLas-infected versus control *** the other hand,compared to psyllids that had completed their development on control plants,the ones that had completed their development on a CLas-infected plant exhibited changes in their behavior(greater velocity),physiology(smaller mass)and biochemistry(lower water and lipid content).Altogether,our results confirm the existence of a marked postacquisition effect on the vector locomotor behavior and a minor preacquisition effect of CLas on the vector behavior,which can be partially explained by physiological and biochemical changes.

Flowers are composed of organs whose identity is defined by the combinatorial activity of transcription factors(TFs).The interactions between MADS-box TFs and protein complex formation have been schematized in the floral quartet model of flower *** gynoecium is the flower’s female reproductive part,crucial for fruit and seed production and,hence,for reproductive *** the establishment of carpel identity,many tissues arise to form a mature *** have been described as regulators of gynoecium development,and some interactions and complexes have been ***,broad knowledge about the interactions among these TFs and their participation during development remains *** this study,we used a systems biology approach to understand the formation of a complex reproductive unit—as the gynoecium—by mapping binary interactions between well-characterized *** analyzed almost 4500 combinations and detected more than 250 protein-protein interactions(PPIs),resulting in a process-specific interaction *** analyses suggest hidden functions and novel roles for many *** addition,we observed a close relationship between TFs involved in auxin and cytokinin-signaling pathways and other ***,we analyzed the network by combining PPI data,expression,and genetic data,which helped us to dissect it into several dynamic spatio-temporal subnetworks related to gynoecium development ***,we generated an extended PPI network that predicts new players in gynoecium *** together,all these results serve as a valuable resource for the plant community.

We investigated the mechanical and microstructural responses of a high-strength equal-molar medium entropy FeCrNi alloy at 293 and 15 K by in situ neutron diffraction *** 293 K,the alloy had a very high yield strength of 651±12 MPa,with a total elongation of 48%±5%.At 15 K,the yield strength increased to 1092±22 MPa,but the total elongation dropped to 18%±1%.Via analyzing the neutron diffraction data,we determined the lattice strain evolution,single-crystal elastic constants,stacking fault probability,and estimated stacking fault energy of the alloy at both temperatures,which are the critical parameters to feed into and compare against our first-principles calculations and dislocation-based slip system *** density functional theory calculations show that the alloy tends to form shortrange order at room ***,atom probe tomography and atomic-resolution transmission electron microscopy did not clearly identify the short-range ***,at 293 K,experimental measured single-crystal elastic constants did not agree with those determined by first-principles calculations with short-range order but agreed well with the values from the calculation with the disordered configuration at 2000 *** suggests that the alloy is at a metastable state resulted from the fabrication *** view of the high yield strength of the alloy,we calculated the strengthening contribution to the yield strength from grain boundaries,dislocations,and lattice *** lattice distortion contribution was based on the Varenne-Luque-Curtine strengthening theory for multi-component alloys,which was found to be 316 MPa at 293 K and increased to 629 MPa at 15 K,making a significant contribution to the high yield *** plastic deformation,dislocation movement and multiplication were found to be the dominant hardening mechanism at both temperatures,whereas twinning and phase transformation were not *** is mainly due to the high stack

Field synergy analysis of pollutant dispersion in street canyons and its optimization by adding wind catchers

The microenvironment,which involves pollutant dispersion of the urban street canyon,is critical to the health of pedestrians and *** objectives of this work are twofold:(i)to effectively assess the pollutant dispersion process based on a theory and(ii)to adopt an appropriate stratigy,i.e.,wind catcher,to alleviate the pollution in the street *** dispersion in street canyons is essentially a convective mass transfer *** the convective heat transfer process and the mass transfer process are physically similar and the applicability of field synergy theory to turbulence has been verified in the literature,we apply the field synergy theory to the study of pollutant dispersion in street *** this paper,a computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation is conducted to investigate the effects of wind catcher,wind speed and the geometry of the street canyons on pollutant *** to the field synergy theory,Sherwood number and field synergy number are used to quantitatively evaluate the wind catcher and wind speed on the diffusion of pollutants in asymmetric street *** results show that adding wind catchers can significantly improve the air quality of the step-down street canyon and reduce the average pollutant concentrations in the street canyon by 75%.higher wind speed enhances diffusion of pollutants differently in different geometric street canyons.

Numerical study of reactive pollutants diffusion in urban street canyons with a viaduct

In this paper,the influences of the ambient wind speed and the height and width of a viaduct in a 2-dimensional street canyon on the diffusion of reactive pollutants emitted by motor vehicles were investigated using computational fluid dynamics(CFD)*** were treated as reactive by including a NO-NO_(2)-O_(3) photochemical reaction mechanism in the *** Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)k-ε turbulence model and the discrete phase model were used to simulate the airflow movement and the concentration distribution,respectively,of the reactive pollutants in the street *** indices,i.e.,the chemical reaction contribution of NO(CRC_(NO)),the chemical reaction contribution of NO_(2)(CRC_(NO_(2))),and the O_(3) depletion rate,were used to evaluate the relative importance of the photochemical *** was found that the presence of a viaduct changed the flow field structure in the street *** CRC_(NO) and CRC_(NO_(2))decreased from the windward side to the leeward side of the *** maximum values of the CRC_(NO) and CRC_(NO_(2)) were observed at the pollution source(x=245 m)due to the influence of a clockwise vortex in the street *** the height and width of the viaduct increased,concentration of the ground pollutants and the O_(3) depletion rate *** O_(3) depletion rate was much higher on the leeward side(90%)than on the windward *** pollutant concentrations after the reaction were twice as high with the viaduct as without the viaduct when the viaduct height was the same as the building *** viaduct had a significantly larger influence on the concentration of the reactive pollutants than the chemical *** O_(3) depletion rate in the canyon and the pollutant concentrations decreased as the ambient wind speed increased,whereas the CRC_(NO_(2)) increased.

The goal of the present paper is to investigate an abstract system, called fractional differential variational inequality, which consists of a mixed variational inequality combined with a fractional evolution equation in the framework of Banach spaces. Using discrete approximation approach, an existence theorem of solutions for the inequality is established under some suitable assumptions.

Plasma electrolytic oxidation of AZ31 and AZ91 magnesium alloys:Comparison of coatings formation mechanism

The growth kinetics of PEO coatings on AZ31 and AZ91 magnesium alloys were studied and correlated with their structure,compositions(phase and elemental)and corrosion *** was established that the coatings have a two-(outer and anodic)or three-layer structure(outer,inner and anodic)depending on the treatment ***,at short treatment time only an anodic layer and outer layer *** of the outer PEO layer takes place due to the micro discharges,which occur in vertical pores and voids with spherical *** the time is increasing,and electrolyte inside of the pores is heating-up,etching of the mg substrate and oxide film becomes more dominant and horizontal pores in the interface between coating and metal are *** the pores new anodic layer will form and at this time the formation of the third inner layer *** growth of the inner layer happens via the anodic film as a result of micro discharge ignition in the horizontal pores,accompanied by formation of plasma in numerous micro-voids of this *** coatings formed on AZ91 alloy are denser,than those on AZ31,which is related to the difference in the rates of inner layer growth and dissolving of oxides which are located at the bottom of the horizontal *** of the lower Al content,the AZ31 substrate itself and the also the oxide films are less stable and tend to dissolve at a higher rate compared to ***,it was demonstrated that a good corrosion resistance of the coatings was only obtained on AZ91 and if the average thickness of the coating is around 50μm,correlating with the formation of a sufficiently dense inner laye-Knowing this mechanism,a new two-step treatment was suggested,combining the standard PEO treatment with a subsequent PEO process in an electrolyte supporting the inner film *** concept was successfully applied and a further improved corrosion resistance was obtained compared to the single stage PEO *** improvement of corrosion re
