Simulation Research on an Active Anti-Roll System for an Air Spring Passenger Car

To reduce the roll movement of an air spring passenger car, an active anti-roll system is developed, which is constructed with hydraulic and pneumatic units to change spring rate during cornering. For the comparing research between the passive and active system, a two-track vehicle model and a co-simulation model of air spring system are built. For the simulation research on the linear movement of the actuator, a mathematical model is considered as dynamical subsystem in the co-simulation model. To active control the roll angle of vehicle body, a sliding-mode controller with optimized control parameters for the test vehicle is introduced into the model. The characteristics of sliding-mode controller is discussed and the validation of active antiroll control is proved by comparison with other control methods. The results show that the roll angle of air spring vehicle is reduced obviously with the active anti-roll actuator in comparison with that of the passive system. Compared with other control methods, sliding-mode controller has an advantage of shortest switching times, which leads to a longer lifetime of actuator and valves.

Structure-activity relationship of cyclic ADP-ribose, an update

Cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR) is a universal Ca2+ mobilizing second messenger in many different cell types and organisms. cADPR activates Ca2+ release from endo/sarcoplasmic reticulum via ryanodine receptors. In addition, Ca2+ entry secondary to Ca2+ depletion is at least one of the mechanisms in which cADPR triggers Ca2+ inflow, too. Analogues of cADPR have been prepared by chemical and chemo-enzymatic routes. Most of the analogues were analyzed for biological activity in intact or permeabilized Jurkat T cells (a human T-lymphoma cell line). As a systematic approach, analogues were grouped according to alterations in the base, the northern ribose, the southern ribose, the pyrophosphate backbone, or in complex modifications, comprising more than one part of the molecule. Biological activity of the analogues is reviewed, with special emphasis on Jurkat T cells.

Indicator kriging （IK） is a spatial interpolation technique devised for estimating a conditional cumulative distribution function at an unsampled location. The result is a discrete approximation, and its corresponding estimated probability density function can be viewed as a composition in the simplex. This fact suggested a compositional approach to IK which, by construction, avoids all its standard drawbacks （negative predictions, not-ordered or larger than one）. Here, a simple algorithm to develop the procedure is presented.

Immunological memory represents the ability of specific immune cells to recall an encounter with a cognate *** results in an immediate response upon a second exposure to the same infectious ***,conventional memory T cells are generated after encountering specific foreign *** contrast,a group of innate memory T cells develops without initial exposure to foreign antigen that specifically binds to a cognate T cell receptor.1 These naturally occurring memory-like T cells,also known as“virtual”memory T cells,are generated under steady-state *** accumulate during aging in both humans and mice.2 By comparing the TCR repertoire of young and old mice,an early study identified age-dependent clonal expansion and age-related changes in CD8^(+) but not CD4^(+) T cells.3 Interestingly,more than 50%of CD62L^(hi)CD44^(hi) central memory T cells in the peripheral blood of aged naive mice have been suggested to represent virtual memory T cells based on their lower expression levels of CD49d.4 Infection studies in mice employing Listeria monocytogenes showed that both virtual memory T cells and conventional antigen-specific memory T cells were able to provide protection.5 However,in contrast to virtual memory T cells,conventional memory T cells produced fivefold higher levels of IFN-γupon short-term in vitro TCR stimulation.
