Self-assembled nanosheets on NiTi alloy facilitate endothelial cell function and manipulate macrophage immune response

Stenting has been widely adopted for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases,but the complications such as in-stent restenosis and late stent thrombosis cannot be completely avoided,which are closely related to endothelial dysfunction and inflammatory *** the present work,oxide nanosheets were grown on the surface of nearly equiatomic Ni Ti alloy by alkaline corrosion(AC),aiming at yielding favorable endothelial functionality and immune *** results show nanosheets mainly composed of TiO_(2),Ni(OH)_(2),and K_(2)TiO_(3)can be grown on the alloy in KOH solution of 2.5–15 M at room *** AC-treated samples significantly promote endothelial cell(EC)functionality such as proliferation,migration,NO production,VEGF secretion,and *** addition,the sample grown in KOH of 15 M can switch macrophages to an anti-inflammatory M2 phenotype and up-regulate the gene expression of VEGF to facilitate EC *** results demonstrate that the nanosheets can directly and indirectly up-regulate EC functionality,possibly leading to rapid re-endothelialization of the stents thus addressing the stent-related complications.

Long range intermolecular interaction potential surface of CaF(~2∑^+) was simulated by employing the MOLPRO program and using the RCCSD(T)/def2-TZVP theory. The predicted data were further fitted to obtain the collision crosssection. The elastic collision cross-section of CaF at the temperature around 2 mK is as high as 6.5 × 10^(-9) cm^2 and the collision rate is over 4.1 × 10~6 Hz. Additionally, we found that an orientation electric field will simplify the intermolecular interaction potential function from quaternary into ternary and the collision cross-section will be raised by about three orders. All-optical evaporative cooling of cold CaF is discussed in the conclusion.

Highly active,stable,and cut-price(photo-)electrocatalysts are desired to overwhelm high energy barriers for anodic oxygen evolution reaction ***,a heterostructure of cobalt-iron oxide/black phosphorus nanosheets is in-situ synthesized via a facile and novel three-electrode electrolysis *** black phosphorus is exfoliated into its nanosheets at the cathode while the CoFe oxide is derived directly from the metal wire anode during the electrolysis *** heterostructure exhibits excellent electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance,and the overpotential at 10 mA·cm^(−2)is 51 mV lower than that of the commercial RuO_(2)*** superior OER performance stems from the favorable adsorption behavior and an enlarged electrochemical active surface area of the *** reveal the origin of excellent OER performance from the point of adsorption strength of OH*,methanol oxidation reaction(MOR)test is applied under the identified OER operating *** introduction of light illumination enhances the OER activity of this *** overpotential drops down to 280 mV,benefiting from pronounced photochemical response of black phosphorus nanosheets and iron oxide inside the *** work develops a new electrochemical method to construct high performance and light-sensitive heterostructures from black phosphorus nanosheets for the OER.

Background:Serratia ureilytica DW2 is a highly efficient phosphate-solubilizing bacteria isolated from Codonopsis pilosula rhizosphere soil that can promote the growth of ***;nonetheless,until now,no validated reference genes from the genus Serratia have been reported that can be used for the normalization of quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT–qPCR)***:To screen stable reference genes of *** DW2,the expression of its eight candidate reference genes(16S rRNA,ftsZ,ftsA,mreB,recA,slyD,thiC,and zipA)under different treatment conditions(pH,temperature,culture time,and salt content)was assayed by RT–*** expression stability of these genes was analyzed using different algorithms(geNorm,NormFinder,and BestKeeper).To verify the reliability of the data,the expression of the glucose dehydrogenase(gdh)gene under different soluble phosphate levels was quantified using the most stably expressed reference ***:The results showed that the zipA and 16S rRNA genes were the most stable reference genes,and the least stable genes were thiC and *** expression of gdh was consistent with the phosphate solubilization ability on plates containing the National Botanical Research Institute phosphate growth ***:Therefore,this study provides a stable and reliable reference gene of Serratia for the accurate quantification of functional gene expression in future studies.

Dunaliella salina is a classic halophilic ***,its molecular mechanisms in response to high salinity at the post transcriptional level remain unknown.A unique halophilic alga strain,DS-CN1,was screened from four *** strains via cell biological,physiological,and biochemical ***-throughput sequencing of small RNAs(sRNAs)of DS-CN1 in culture medium containing 3.42-mol/L NaCl(SS group)or 0.05-mol/L NaCl(CO group)was performed on the BGISEQ-500 *** annotation and sequences of *** sRNAs were ***,44 novel salt stress-responsive microRNAs(miRNAs)with a relatively high C content,with the majority of them being 24 nt in length,were identified and characterized in ***-one differentially expressed miRNAs(DEMs)in SS and CO were screened via bioinformatic analysis.A total of 319 putative salt stress-related genes targeted(104 overlapping genes)by novel miRNAs in this alga were screened based on our previous transcriptome sequencing ***,these target genes were classified and enriched by GO and KEGG pathway ***,5 novel DEMs(dsa-mir3,dsa-mir16,dsa-mir17,and dsa-mir26 were significantly upregulated,and dsa-mir40 was significantly downregulated)and their corresponding 10 target genes involved in the 6 significantly enriched metabolic pathways were verified by quantitative real-time ***,their regulatory relationships were comprehensively ***,a unique salt stress response metabolic network was constructed based on the novel DEM-target gene *** together,our results suggest that 44 novel salt stress-responsive microRNAs were identified,and 4 of them might play important roles in *** upon salinity stress and contribute to clarify its distinctive halophilic *** study will shed light on the regulatory mechanisms of salt stress responses.

As a typical electron deficient element,beryllium is potentially suitable for designing the species with novel non-classical planar hypercoordinate carbon due to high preference for the planar structures by small beryllium-containing *** particular,the CBe_(5)^(4–)cluster with a planar pentacoordinate carbon(ppC)had been proved by many previous studies to be an excellent template structure for the systematic design of ppC species through attaching various monovalent atoms on the bridging position of Be–Be *** this work,based on the analysis and extension on our recently reported CBe_(4)M_(n)^(n–2)(M=Li,Au,n=1~3)species,we propose that ptC cluster CBe_(4)^(2-)is similar to CBe54–in that it can also be employed as a template structure to systematically design the ptC species through binding various monovalent atoms on the bridging position of Be–Be *** extensive screening suggests that the feasible bridging atoms(E)can be found in group 1(H,Li,Na),group 11(Cu,Ag,Au),and group 17(F,Cl,Br,I)elements,leading to total thirty eligible ptC species with CBe4 core moiety(CBe4Enn–2).The ptC atoms in these species are involved into three delocalized s bonds and a delocalized p bond,thereby not only obeying the octet rule,but also possessing novel 6s+2p double aromaticity,which significantly stabilizes the ptC *** addition,the attached bridging atoms can stabilize the CBe4 core ptC moiety by replacing the highly diffused Be–Be two-center two-electron bonds with the much less diffused Be–E two-center two-electron bonds or Be–E–Be three-center two-electron bonds,as reflected by the increasing HOMO-LUMO gaps when the number of bridging atoms ***,the stochastic search algorithm in combination with high level CCSD(T)calculations revealed that twenty-six of the thirty-one ptC species(including previously reported six species)were global energy minima on their corresponding potential energy surfaces,in which twenty-five of them were also

St. Louis encephalitis virus (SLEV) was first recognized in 1933 and caused a major encephalitis epidemic with 1095 clinical cases and 201 deaths in St. Louis, Missouri.1 According to the median values from 2014 to 2018, the percentage of neuroinvasion by SLEV was 62% and the fatality rate was 9% in the United States.2 The clinical symptoms of SLEV infection include neurological abnormalities such as memory loss, disorientation, and meningoencephalitis. Till now, specific treatments including vaccine and drug are unavailable for SLEV infection. It is of particular importance to get prepared for SLEV infection, especially given the currently raging global COVID-19 epidemic.
