The pathological origin of Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is still shrouded in mystery,despite intensive worldwide research *** selective visualization ofβ-amyloid(Aβ),the most abundant proteinaceous deposit in AD,is pivotal to reveal AD *** date,several small-molecule fluorophores for Aβspecies have been developed,with increasing binding *** the current work,two organic small-molecule dioxaborine-derived fluorophores were rationally designed through tailoring the hydrophobicity with the aim to enhance the binding affinity for Aβ_(1-42) fibrils-while concurrently preventing poor aqueous solubility-via biannulate donor motifs in D-π-A *** unprecedented sub-nanomolar affinity was found(K_(d)=0.62±0.33 nM)and applied to super-sensitive and red-emissive fluorescent staining of amyloid plaques in cortical brain tissue ex *** fluorophores expand the dioxaborine-curcumin-based family of Aβ-sensitive fluorophores with a promising new imaging agent.

The integration of constructed wetlands or natural wetlands and surface water heat pumps(SWHPs) leads towards the development of a novel sustainable technology treating urban stormwater and application of renewable energy technologies. SWHPs are a well-recognised source of renewable energy and provide high efficiencies for heating and cooling by employing the enormous renewable storage capacity of surface water systems such as wetlands. Engineered wetland systems are compact urban wastewater or stormwater treatment systems that encompass a plurality of treatment modules similar to processes occurring in natural wetlands. Wetlands are a preferred stormwater treatment system over conventional systems which are energy intensive and inadvertently contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. The incorporation of SWHPs within constructed wetlands has great potential for addressing global water and energy issues, providing significant and multiple benefits for energy and water usage, protecting and enhancing natural water systems within urban catchments and reducing the demand on potable water supplies by contributing to water recycling. Two experimental rigs simulating real-life scenarios of surface water heat pumps integrated with constructed wetlands were set up, and running in a green house(controlled environment) at The University of Salford Manchester. Temperatures and water quality analyses measured the treatment performance and water quality efficiency for the combined systems. The water quality analyses for treatment processes of the rigs showed no significant differences for the removal of biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, nutrients(phosphates, nitrates and ammonia) for the wetland system linked to water-sourced heating and cooling and the stand-alone constructed wetland.

Analysis of Current Interregional Industry Transfer and Its Features in China Based on Three Dimensions

Imbalanced spatial development of China’s economy leads to the transfer of industries between different regions. Such interregional transfer of industries not only reflects the dynamic changes of factor endowments between regions, but also is an important way to promote the development of underdeveloped regions. After the global financial crisis in 2008, along with the deterioration in external demand and expansion of domestic market, as well as driven by market forces and regional policies, China’s interregional industry transfer presents new features and trends. Based on the reflections on relevant literature and cases, the author discusses China’s industry transfer from three perspectives: why, where, and how to transfer industries, referring to three aspects:the impetus and resistance, scope and direction, as well as patterns and policies of industry transfer, so as to make a comprehensive and in-depth elaboration of the status quo, features and causes of interregional industry transfer in China.

Colorectal cancer is the most prevalent among digestive system *** relies on disrupted control of cellular processes,such as metabolism,proliferation,DNA damage recognition and repair,and ***,tissue,organ and body physiology is characterized by periodic fluctuations driven by biological clocks operating through the clock gene *** of molecular clockworks and cellular oscillators is involved in tumorigenesis,and altered expression of clock genes has been found in cancer *** studies have shown that circadian disruption,that is,alteration of bodily temporal organization,is a cancer risk factor,and an increased incidence of colorectal neoplastic disease is reported in shift *** this review we describe the involvement of the circadian clock circuitry in colorectal carcinogenesis and the therapeutic strategies addressing temporal deregulation in colorectal cancer.

Helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces based on symmetric spin–orbit interactions (SOIs) have practical limits because they cannot provide central-symmetric holographic imaging. Asymmetric SOIs can effectively address such limitations, with several exciting applications in various fields ranging from asymmetric data inscription in communications to dual side displays in smart mobile devices. Low-loss dielectric materials provide an excellent platform for realizing such exotic phenomena efficiently. In this paper, we demonstrate an asymmetric SOI-dependent transmission-type metasurface in the visible domain using hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) nanoresonators. The proposed design approach is equipped with an additional degree of freedom in designing bi-directional helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces by breaking the conventional limit imposed by the symmetric SOI in half employment of metasurfaces for one circular handedness. Two on-axis, distinct wavefronts are produced with high transmission efficiencies, demonstrating the concept of asymmetric wavefront generation in two antiparallel directions. Additionally, the CMOS compatibility of a-Si:H makes it a cost-effective alternative to gallium nitride (GaN) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) for visible light. The cost-effective fabrication and simplicity of the proposed design technique provide an excellent candidate for high-efficiency, multifunctional, and chip-integrated demonstration of various phenomena.

The public procurement market is classified as one of the most important segments of the world economy with share of 7-18%in the world *** importance of this segment leads to continuous *** the existing legislative framework,the share of cross-border public procurement remains limited due to several obstacles including discrimination in public procurement that was raised by governments as one of the non-tariff barriers to international *** of the European Commission or the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development(EBRD)indicate that there are many other obstacles to entry to international public procurement *** obstacles are discussed in the first chapter of this *** goal of this paper is to review aspects of international public procurement regulation and find ways of eliminating the obstacles through this ***,the second,third,and fourth chapters of the paper analyse the WTO Government Procurement Agreement(GPA),the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law(UNCITRAL)Model Law on Public Procurement,and the role of regional trade agreements.
