Effects of Pachyman in Combination with Vinorelbine and Cisplatin on Tumor Growth and the Expression of EGFR and K-ras in Mice with Lung Cancer

Objective To examine the effects of pachyman in combination with vinorelbine and cisplatin on tumor growth and the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)and K-ras in a mouse model of lung cancer induced using the human lung cancer cell line A549,and to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the antitumor effects of *** We recorded the size of the tumor xenografts in mice after treatment with pachyman monotherapy or pachymanin combination with vinorelbine and *** performed immunohistochemical analysis to determine the levels of expression and distribution of EGFR and K-ras in lung cancer ***-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to determine the relative mRNA expression levels of EGFR and K-ras in lung cancer *** Vinorelbine and cisplatin significantly decreased the rate of growth of A549 xenografts,and pachyman increased the efficacy of vinorelbine and *** and K-ras were widely expressed in A549 *** and cisplatin could significantly decrease the expression,distribution and mRNA expression levels of EGFR and K-ras in tumor *** monotherapy significantly decreased the distribution and the mRNA expression levels of EGFR in lung cancer *** addition,pachyman in combination with vinorelbine and cisplatin markedly decreased the distribution and expression levels of EGFR in lung cancer ***,pachyman monotherapy or combination therapy did not significantly decrease the mRNA expression levels of *** Thus,pachyman in combination with vinorelbine can significantly inhibit the growth of A549 xenografts,and pachyman can regulate the expression of the EGFR gene to increase the efficacy of vinorelbine and cisplatin in lung cancer and decrease the side effects associated with chemotherapy.

To the Editor:Autoimmune hepatitis(AIH)is a type of liver parenchymal inflammation mediated by the autoimmune response of liver *** was previously considered to be a chronic liver disease,but recent observers have confirmed that AIH patients can have acute onset or even liver failure(AIH-LF).[1]The incidence of AIH-LF has also *** LF occurs,the mortality rate within 90 days could reach>40%.[2]Therefore,the occurrence of LF has a major impact on the prognosis of *** AIH-LF has a low incidence and a high mortality rate,some cases can still be cured by *** clinical characteristics that may affect the prognosis of patients with AIH-LF are still *** clarify the factors affecting the prognosis of AIH-LF,we compared the clinical characteristics of two groups of AIH-LF patients with different prognosis.

Taking the uncertainty existing in edge weights of networks into consideration, finding shortest path in such fuzzy weighted networks has been widely studied in various practical applications. In this paper, an amoeboid algorithm is proposed, combing fuzzy sets theory with a path finding model inspired by an amoeboid organism, Physarum poly- cephalum. With the help of fuzzy numbers, uncertainty is well represented and handled in our algorithm. What’s more, biological intelligence of Physarum polycephalum has been incorporate into the algorithm. A numerical example on a transportation network is demonstrated to show the efficiency and flexibility of our proposed amoeboid algorithm.

The phenomenon in which cells prefer glycolysis to oxidative phosphorylation with increased lactate production is known as the Warburg effect and is found prevalent in cancer cells and pluripotent stem cells [1].
