The sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 recommends several actions for early warning systems(EWss). However, there is a lack of information about their means of implementation. This article used institutional ethnography to analyze the 2012–2018 implementation of a national warning system in Brazil. The challenges related to daily activities, and the interdisciplinary works in the four axes of EWss towards multi-hazard and people-centered approaches are discussed. This national experience is then discussed in the light of the global challenges of EWss considering two main issues:(1) experiences of implementation and barriers related to people-centered warning systems;and(2)types of national/regional warning systems and hazards/threats that are being monitored as an important input for multi-hazard approaches. There are few multi-hazard warning systems in place and EWss are focused on hydrometeorological hazards, mainly related to floods. The sendai Framework needs to improve access to data and information, identify views from the frontline, consider political threats and vulnerabilities, and find ways to talk about disaster risk creation processes at a larger scale.

The focus of this study was to investigate the wide use of Eucalyptus spp.,an exotic plant with high allelopathic ability,in the reforestation programs of urban parks in são paulo City,Brazil,over the last *** understand the implications of using Eucalyptus *** the city’s parks,this study aimed to compare nutrient cycling and litter decomposition between a mixed composition of litter(i.e.,native and exotic species)and the litter of a single species(i.e.,Eucalyptus).To accomplish this,newly deciduous leaves were collected from two native and two exotic species that are commonly used in the afforestation of são paulo as well as from Eucalyptus *** mixed composition of litter yielded a higher dry mass loss and return of macro-and micronutrients to the forest *** decomposition constant(k)values were 0.00322 and 0.00207 g g^(−1) day^(−1) for the mixed composition and Eucalyptus spp.,*** time required for decomposition of 50 and 95%of deciduous material was 215 and 931 days,respectively,and for the mixed litterfall 334 and 1449 days,respectively,for Eucalyptus ***,the mixed litter exhibited greater dry mass loss and nutrient cycling in an urban forest of são paulo City,since dry mass losses as well as speed and amount of nutrients returned to the forest floor were relatively higher compared to Eucalyptus *** cycling via Eucalyptus *** was less efficient than mixed composition of litter,demonstrating that reforestation programs carried out in the twentieth century using only one species may have had little *** results of this work emphasize the fact that in urban reforestation programs the City of são paulo must consider the environmental and biogeographic characteristics of the species employed and use high levels of biodiversity,since the city lies in a megadiverse biome.

The point of zero salt effect （PZsE） is the soil pH value at which the magnitude of the variable surface charges is not changed due to variations in the ionic concentration of the soil solution. This property influences not only electrochemical phenomena occurring at the solid-solution interface but also the flocculation degree of the soil particles. In this study we investigated the relationships between the clay mineralogy and the PZsE values of representative soils of the sāo paulo state, Brazil. The results confirmed the usefulness of the difference between the soil pH values measured in 1 mol L^-1 KCl （pHKCl） and in water （pHH2o）（2 pHKCl-pHH2o） for estimating the PZsE of tropical soils, except for the ones rich in exchangeable Al; furthermore, the ApH index （pHKC1 - pHH2o） was highly correlated with the difference between the PZsE and pHH2o values, reiterating the △pH utility for estimating both the signal and the magnitude of the net surface charge of tropical soils. Finally, correlation and multiple regression analyses showed that the PZsE value of weathered non-allophanic tropical soils tends to increase and to equal the soil pH due to the weathering-induced kaolinite destabilization and concomitant Fe- and Al-oxide accumulation.

Intestinal neuronal dysplasia type B(IND-B)is a controversial condition among gastrointestinal neuromuscular *** is its most common clinical manifestation in *** intense scientific research,there are still knowledge gaps regarding the diagnostic criteria for IND-B in the histopathological analysis of rectal *** guidelines published in the past three decades have directed diagnostic criteria for quantifying the number of ganglion cells in the nervous plexus of the enteric nervous ***,it is very complex to distinguish numerically what is pathological from what is normal,mainly because of the difficulty in determining a reliable control group composed of healthy children without intestinal ***,a series of immunohistochemical markers have been proposed to assist in the histopathological analysis of the enteric nervous *** of these markers facilitate the identification of other structures of the enteric nervous system,in addition to ganglion *** structures may be related to the etiopathogenesis of IND-B and represent new possibilities for the histopathological diagnosis of this disease,providing a view beyond the number of ganglion *** review critically discusses the aspects related to the disease definitions and diagnostic criteria of this organic cause of constipation.

The present investigation is based on the results of a directionally solidified （Ds） sn-9 wt%Zn-2 wt%Cu alloy, including primary/secondary/tertiary dendrite arm spacings of the sn-rich matrix, the morphologies of the eutectic mixture and the corresponding interphase spacing, the nature and proportion of the Cu-Zn intermetallic compound （IMC）. The main purpose is to establish interrelations of these microstructure features with experimental solidification thermal parameters, such as cooling rates and growth rates （v）, macrosegregation and hardness. such interrelations are interesting for both industry and academy since they represent a tool permitting the preprogramming of final properties based on the design of the microstructure. In the case of sn-Zn-Cu alloys, hardly anything is known about the combined effects of the length scale of the microstructure and fraction and distribution of the primary IMC on hardness. The alloy microstructure is composed of a β-sn dendritic region, surrounded by a eutectic mixture of α-Zn and β-sn phases and the γ-Cu5Zn8 IMC. The eutectic interphase spacing varies in the range 1.2-3.6 μm, with the α-Zn phase having a globular morphology for ν 〉 0.5 mm/s and a needle-like morphology for ν 〈 0.3 mm/s. A modified Hall-Petch-type experimental expression relating hardness to the interphase spacing is proposed.

Gastric cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related death worldwide,and most of the cases are associated with Helicobacter pylori *** bacterium promotes the production of reactive oxygen species(Ros),which cause DNA damage in gastric epithelial *** this study,we evaluated the expression of important genes involved in the recognition of DNA damage(ATM,ATR,and H2AX)and Ros-induced damage repair(APE1)and the expression of some miRNAs(miR-15a,miR-21,miR-24,miR-421 and miR-605)that target genes involved in the DNA damage response(DDR)in 31 fresh tissues of gastric *** v3.1.1 was used to construct the postulated miRNA:mRNA interaction *** performed by real-time quantitative PCR exhibited significantly increased levels of the APE1(RQ=2.55,ps beyond the miR-421 and miR-605 in the gastric cancer *** addition,significantly elevated levels of miR-21,miR-24 and miR-421 were observed in diffuse-type gastric *** analysis reinforced some of the gene:gene(ATM/ATR/H2AX)and miRNA:mRNA relationships obtained also with the interaction ***,our findings show that tumor cells from gastric cancer presents deregulation of genes and miRNAs that participate in the recognition and repair of DNA damage,which could confer an advantage to cell survival and proliferation in the tumor microenvironment.

objective:To evaluate the photoprotective,antioxidant,antiglycation,and antiacne activities of crude extract(CEss)and triterpene saponin fraction(Tsss)of sapindus ***:HPLC-Ms purification was performed on a symmetry TM C18 *** saponins were identified by a UV *** activity was evaluated by DPPH and o_(2)^(−)radicals scavenging,and FRAP and TBARs *** activity was assessed by relative electrophoretic mobility and inhibition of advanced glycation end products(AGEs)***,antiacne activity was determined by inhibition of Cutibacterium acnes,and photoprotective effect was evaluated by Mansur’s ***:Most of the triterpene saponins detected in the fraction by HPLC-Ms analysis were hederagenin as the *** and Tsss presented varying antioxidant activity in DPPH(CEss:75.69%and Tsss:83.65%),FRAP(CEss:425.39μM TE/g DW and Tsss:649.36μM TE/g DW),TBARs(CEss:42.96%and Tsss:52.16%)and o_(2)^(−)radicals scavenging(CEss:61.33%and Tsss:86.69%)*** and Tsss also exhibited antiglycation activity comparable to bovine serum albumin treated with *** addition,CEss and Tsss showed inhibition of AGE formation(34.48%and 61.85%,respectively).Antiacne activity against Cutibacterium acnes was observed with a minimum inhibitory concentration equal to minimum bactericidal concentration(CEss:36.11µg/mL and Tsss:18.34µg/mL).In photoprotective assays,CEss and Tsss showed maximum absorbance of 1.42 to 0.20 and 2.80 to 1.30,respectively,in the wavelength range of 260 to 400 ***,CEss and Tsss showed sun protection factors of 8.89 and 14.89,***:sapindus saponaria fruit extracts show strong antioxidant potential and antiglycation activity against bovine serum albumin glycation and AGE ***,they presented antibacterial activity against Cutibacterium acnes and photoprotective effect against UV-A and UV-B.
