Interpretable Machine Learning-Based Spring Algal Bloom Forecast Model for the Coastal Waters of zhejiang

The 2016–2022 monitoring data from three ecological buoys in the Wenzhou coastal region of zhejiang Province and the dataset European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts were examined to clarify the elaborate relationship between variations in ecological parameters during spring algal bloom incidents and the associated changes in temperature and wind fields in this study.A long short-term memory recurrent neural network was employed,and a predictive model for spring algal bloom in this region was *** model integrated various inputs,including temperature,wind speed,and other pertinent variables,and chlorophyll concentration served as the primary output *** model training used chlorophyll concentration data,which were supplemented by reanalysis and forecast temperature and wind field *** model demonstrated proficiency in forecasting next-day chlorophyll concentrations and assessing the likelihood of spring algal bloom occurrences using a defined chlorophyll concentration *** historical validation from 2016 to 2019 corroborated the model's accuracy with an 81.71%probability of correct prediction,which was further proven by its precise prediction of two spring algal bloom incidents in late April 2023 and early May *** interpretable machine learning-based model for spring algal bloom prediction,displaying effective forecasting with limited data,was established through the detailed analysis of the spring algal bloom mechanism and the careful selection of input *** insights gained from this study offer valuable contributions to the development of early warning systems for spring algal bloom in the Wenzhou coastal area of zhejiang Province.

A New Nodosaurid Ankylosaur from the Chaochuan Formation of Dongyang, zhejiang Province, China

Dongyangopelta yangyanensis gen. et sp. nov. from the Chaochuan Formation （Albian - Cenomanian） of Dongyang, zhejiang Province, China is characterized： the convex anterior surface of the first presacral rod centrum strongly inflates laterally and slightly curves posteriorly; the fused pelvic shield composes of larger pebble-shaped bosses, defined by smaller tubercles or flat stretches of bone; most osteoderms are heavily roughened with notches and grooves for dermal attachment along the edge; domed triradiate osteoderm is present; sigmoid curvature of the dorsal surface of the ilium is present; the preacetabular process curves lateroventraUy at the anterior end and has a shallow groove in the edge of the lateral and anterior ends and strong lateromedial expansion of the distal femur. The femoral head is well separated from the greater trochanter, indicating that Dongyangopeita is a nodosaurid ankylosaur, the second from southeast China. Phylogenetic analysis also positions this taxon in the Nodosauridae clade. Dongyangopelta differs from zhejiangosaurus in the characters of presacral rod, ilium, and femur. Dongyangopelta represents the first ankylosaur outside North America and Europe that definitively possesses a pelvic shield with fused armor.

Spatio-temporal variation prediction on Cd content in the rice grains from Northern zhejiang Plain during 2014–2019 based on high-precision soil geochemical data

In recent years,Cadmium(Cd)pollution has been found in many soil geochemical surveys in Northern zhejiang Plain,a crucial rice production area in East China,located in the lower Yangtze *** more scientifically predict the effect of soil Cd on rice safety,data including 348 local rhizosphere soil-rice samples obtained in 2014 were used in this ***,we extracted 90% of random samples as variables based on soil Cd content(Cd_(soil)),soil organic matter(SOM),pH,and other *** addition,a multivariate linear model for rice Cd content(Cd_(rice))prediction based on the indicators including the soil Cd content(Cd_(soil)),the soil organic matter(SOM),and the pH *** remaining 10%of random samples were used for the significance *** on the 2014 soil Cd content(Cd_(soil14))and the 2019 soil Cd content(Cd_(soil19)),this study predicted Cd content in 2019 rice grains(Cd_(p-rice19)).The spatio-temporal variation of Cdrice was contrasted in the five years from 2014 to 2019,and the risk areas of rice safety production were analyzed using the Geographical Information System(GIS).The results indicated that compared with the actual Cd content in 2014 rice grains(Cdrice14),the proportion of Cd_(p-rice19),which exceeded the standard food level in China(GB2762-2017),increased ***,the high-value areas of Cdrice distributed greatly coincidentally in these two *** contrast,both Cdrice and Cdsoil show very different spatial *** dominant reason is the distribution of the local canal systems,indicating that economic activities and agricultural irrigation may aggravate the risk of soil Cd pollution,thus threatening safe rice production.

Diurnal and seasonal variations in carbon fluxes in bamboo forests during the growing season in zhejiang province, China

Bamboo forest is an important forest type in subtropical China and is characterized by fast growth and high carbon sequestration capacity. However, the dynamics of carbon fluxes during the fast growing period of bamboo shoots and their correlation with environment factors are poorly understood. We measured carbon dioxide exchange and climate variables using open-path eddy covariance methods during the 2011 growing season in a Moso bamboo forest(MB, Phyllostchys edulis) and a Lei bamboo forest(LB, Phyllostachys violascens) in zhejiang province,China. The bamboo forests were carbon sinks during the growing season. The minimum diurnal net ecosystem exchange(NEE) at MB and LB sites were-0.64 and-0.66 mg C m^(-2) s^(-1), respectively. The minimum monthly NEE, ecosystem respiration(RE), and gross ecosystem exchange(GEE) were-99.3 ± 4.03, 76.2 ±2.46, and^(-1)91.5 ± 4.98 g C m^(-2) month^(-1), respectively,at MB site, compared with-31.8 ± 3.44, 70.4 ± 1.41,and^(-1)57.9 ± 4.86 g C m^(-2) month^(-1), respectively, at LB site. Maximum RE was 92.1 ± 1.32 g C m^(-2) month^(-1) at MB site and 151.0 ± 2.38 g C m^(-2) month^(-1) at LB *** control factors varied by month during the growing season, but across the whole growing season, NEE and GEE at both sites showed similar trends in sensitivities to photosynthetic active radiation and vapor pressure deficit,and air temperature had the strongest correlation with RE at both sites. Carbon fluxes at LB site were more sensitive to soil water content compared to those at MB site. Both onyear(years when many new shoots are produced) and offyear(years when none or few new shoots are produced)should be studied in bamboo forests to better understand their role in global carbon cycling.

Background:Quick diagnosis of smear-negative pulmonary tuberculosis(TB)and extra-pulmonary TB are urgently needed in clinical *** research aims to investigate the usefulness of the interferon-γrelease assay(IGRA)for the diagnosis of smear-negative pulmonary and extra-pulmonary ***:We performed TB antibody and TB-IGRA tests on 389 pulmonary TB patients(including 120 smear-positive pulmonary TB patients and 269 smear-negative pulmonary TB patients),113 extra-pulmonary TB patients,81 patients with other pulmonary diseases and 100 healthy *** samples for the TB-Ab test and the TB-IGRA were collected,processed,and interpreted according to the manufacturer’s ***:The detection ratio of smear-positive pulmonary TB patients and smear-negative pulmonary TB patients were 90.8%(109 of 120)and 89.6%(241 of 269),*** was no statistically significant difference of its performance between these two sample sets(P>0.05).The detection ratio of positive TB patients and extra-pulmonary TB patients were 90.0%(350 of 389)and 87.6%(99 of 113),respectively,which was not significantly different(P>0.05).Conclusions:In this work,the total detection ratio using TB-IGRA was 89.4%,therefore TB-IGRA has diagnostic values in smear-negative pulmonary TB and extra-pulmonary TB diagnosis.

Research on Protection Methods of Historic and Cultural Villages in zhejiang Province

By the investigation of a few historical and cultural villages in zhejiang Province,some problems during the process of protecting these villages were found,like similar construction pattern,coarse quality of construction,etc. which caused that villages were losing their characters. For this situation,the protection method of historical cultural villages was put forward,which was that to connect excavating character of different village with maintaining spatial fabrics of historical villages,and that different classes of building should have corresponding protection approach. Some advices were proposed for repairing and promoting historic and cultural elements,natural environment,and constructing infrastructure in the village,which will provide a reference for the construction of other historical and cultural villages.

Pesticide residues in bayberry(Myrica rubra)and probabilistic risk assessment for consumers in zhejiang,China

As pesticide residues in bayberry has raised serious concern from the public in China, a monitoring survey was carried out during 2013–2014 and 157 samples were analyzed in total. Twenty-three pesticides were detected among the 44 pesticides analyzed and at least one pesticide was detected in 63% of 99 samples. Whereas 45.6% of samples were found with two or more pesticide residues, and 23.6% of samples with four or more pesticide residues. Probabilistic risk assessments indicated that estimated daily intake（EDI） of cyhalothrin at the P97.5th percentile level is 1.11 times larger than the acceptable daily intake（ADI） for children, the estimated short-term intake（ESTI） at the P97.5th percentile level is 1.9 and 1.78 times larger than the acute reference dose（ARf D） for adult and children, respectively, indicating the potential risk concern from pyrethroids. EDI of the pesticides with anti-androgenic effects ranged from 0.15–2.46 of ADI, the probability of exposure exceeding the ADI was 7.1 and 31.1% for adults and children, respectively, the probability of exposure of pyrethroids exceeding the ADI was 3.8% for children. Exposures for other pesticides and groups were below 1.0. Because the co-occurrence of frequency of cyhalothrin and cypermethrin was 9.55%, the combinations of pesticides detected with anti-androgenic effects has not been found in the present monitoring, the results indicate that the pesticide residues in bayberry will not constitute serious public health risk, however, they are significant for the management of pesticide use on bayberry and dietary health risk in China.

Satellite remote sensing for urban growth assessment in Shaoxing City, zhejiang Province

Urban growth represents specific response to economic, demographic and environmental conditions. Rapid urbanization and industrializations have resulted in sharp land cover changes. The present investigation was carried out from Shaoxing City to quantify satellite-derived estimates of urban growth using a three-epoch time series Landsat TM data for the years 1984, 1997 and ETM 2000. The methodology used was based on post classification comparison. The use of GIS allowed spatial analysis of the data derived from remotely sensed images. Results showed that the built-up area surrounding Shaoxing City has expanded at an annual average of 7 km2. Analysis of the classified map showed that the physical growth of urban area is upsetting the other land cover classes such as farming, water resources, etc. The study conclusion mainly emphasized the need for sustainable urban capacity.

Characteristics of Drought and Flood in zhejiang Province,East China:Past and Future

On the basis of large amount of historical and measured data, this paper analyzed the regional, periodic, frequency, continuing, and response characteristics of droughts and floods in zhejiang and proposed the conception of ratio of peak runoff. Main characteristics of droughts and floods in zhejiang are as follows： 1） The western zhejiang region is plum rain major control area, and the eastern coastal region of zhejiang is typhoon major control area. 2） Within a long period in the future, zhejiang will be in the long period that features droughts. 3） In zhejiang the 17th century was frequent drought and flood period, the 16th, 19th, and 20th centuries were normal periods, while the 18th century was spasmodic drought and flood period. 4） The severe and medium floods in zhejiang were all centered around the M-or m-year of the 11-year sunspot activity period. 5） There are biggish years of annual runoff occurred in E1 Nifio year （E） or the following year （E＋1） in zhejiang. The near future evolution trend of droughts and floods in zhejiang is as follows： 1） Within a relatively long period in the future, zhejiang Province will be in the long period of mostly drought years. 2） Between 1999 and 2009 this area will feature drought years mainly, while the period of 2010-2020 will feature flood years mostly. 3） zhejiang has a good response to the sunspot activities, and the years around 2009, 2015, and 2020 must be given due attention, especially around 2020 there might be an extremely severe flood year in zhejiang. 4） Floods in zhejiang have good response to El Nifio events, in El Nifio year or the following year much attention must be paid to. And 5） In the future, the first, second, and third severe typhoon years in zhejiang will be 2009. 2012. and 2015. resnectivelv.

The frst avian infuenza A (H7N9) viral infection in humans in zhejiang Province, China: a death report

This study reports the frst death caused by a novel avian infuenza A(H7N9)virus in zhejiang Province,*** patient had chronic hepatitis B and history of exposure to *** patient initially complained of diarrhea and infuenza-like symptoms on March 7 and 14 *** disease progressed to severe pneumonia,sustained hypoxia,and coagulation *** patient died on March 27 because of respiratory failure,multiple organ failure,and disseminated intravascular coagulation without oseltamivir *** H7N9 virus from zhejiang is highly similar to isolates obtained from Shanghai,Jiangsu,Anhui,*** of hemagglutinin,neuramidinase,and matrix genes indicated that the isolates share the same avian origin,have low virulence,and are sensitive to oseltamivir,but are resistant to *** the isolate that caused the fatality exhibited substitution of Q226I in the HA gene,which indicates a potentially enhanced human *** secondary transmission rate was 1.6%(2/125).Only two health workers presented with infuenza-like symptoms,and they subsequently tested negative for H7N9 *** conclusion,underlying disease,late diagnosis,and untimely antiviral treatment are possible high-risk factors for infections and death caused by the lowpathogenicity avian infuenza A(H7N9).Person-to-person transmission of the H7N9 virus was not detected among close contacts,but such transmission should be investigated in the *** and enhancing surveillance will help in the early discovery and diagnosis of suspected cases,which will reduce the number of severe cases and deaths.
