Species in Galliformes have elaborate ritual courtship displays,often including strutting,fluffing of tail or head feathers,and vocal sounds that serve as excellent examples of sexual *** to the male orientation to the female while either posturing or moving,these courtship displays of gallinaceous species can be classified into three categories:1)‘frontal displays’,2)‘lateral displays’,and 3)‘both frontal and lateral displays’.Questions regarding which category of displays is the ancestral state and the evolutionary history of courtship displays in Galliformes remain *** collected and classified 131 species in terms of their courtship displays into the three categories listed above and carried out a large-scale comparative analysis to reveal the evolutionary trajectory of this *** found that the ancestral state of courtship displays of Galliformes involves both relatively short and straightforward frontal and lateral elements(i.e.,the category of‘both frontal and lateral displays’).Furthermore,ancestral trait reconstructions suggest that transitions from‘lateral displays’to‘frontal displays’occurred more frequently than the other way around(i.e.,from‘frontal displays’to‘lateral displays’).In addition,some transitions occurred from‘both frontal and lateral displays’to‘lateral displays’but not from‘both frontal and lateral displays’to‘frontal displays’.Ancestral state reconstruction of courtship displays at the root of the Galliformes phylogeny supports the‘both frontal and lateral displays’first *** original state then evolved towards two extremes,either‘frontal displays’or‘lateral displays’,with more complicated and elaborate display ***,subsequent transitions occurred from‘lateral displays’to‘frontal displays’much more frequently than the other way around during the evolutionary history,indicating positive selection of‘frontal displays’.

The giant freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii distributed from tropical to subtropical regions,is a warm-water species,and its survival temperature is 14-35°C,which greatly limits its culture cycle and culture area in ***,it is urgent to cultivate a new high quality,high yield variety with improved cold-resistance,but the genetic parameters for cold-resistance traits are unknown in *** this study,the cold-resistance of adult *** populations was tested using the indoor artificial cooling *** were selected from 139 families of Shufeng G3 generation and cultured for 200 days.A linear mixed model was constructed by ASReml-R to evaluate the genetic parameters of the cold-resistance trait(cooling degree hours,CDH)and growth traits(body weight,BW,and body length,BL)based on the restricted maximum likelihood(REML)*** results show that the heritability of CDH was low(0.12±0.05),while the growth traits(BW and BL)had low to moderate heritability,with 0.20±0.06 for BW and 0.06±0.04 for *** phenotypic and genetic correlation between BW and BL was significantly positive,but significantly negative phenotypic and genetic correlations were detected between CDH and BW and between CDH and ***,the analysis of the differences between cold-resistance and phenotypic traits showed that the female reproductive status,exoskeleton hardness and claw number of adult prawns had a great influence on the cold-resistance of ***(P<0.05),indicating that adults with claws and hard exoskeletons are preferred as parents in subsequent breeding *** present results can be attributed to the selection and breeding of a new cold-resistant variety of ***.

Although biofilm formation may promote growth,biofilms are not always beneficial to their *** biofilm formation characteristics of Bacillus cereus WPySW2 and its changes at different temperatures were *** show that *** WPySW2 promoted the growth of Neoporphyra haitanensis(an economically cultivated seaweed)at 20℃ but accelerated algal rot at 28℃.Thicker *** WPySW2 biofilms covered the surface of *** thalli at 28℃,which hindered material exchange between the algae and surrounding environment,inhibited algal photosynthesis and respiration,and accelerated algal *** with planktonic bacteria,mature biofilm cells had lower energy consumption and metabolic *** biofilm metabolic characteristics of *** WPySW2 changed significantly with *** temperature accelerated biofilm maturation,which made it thicker and more stable,allowing the bacteria to easily adapt to environmental changes and obtain greater benefits from their *** temperature did not affect the production or increased the abundance of toxic metabolites,indicating that the negative effects of *** WPySW2 on algae were not caused by *** study shows that increased temperature can transform a harmless bacterium into a detrimental one,demonstrating that temperature may change the ecological function of phycospheric bacteria by affecting their morphology and metabolism.

Cenozoic Fault Distribution Characteristics and Evolution in Qikou Sag of Bohai Basin, China

Qikou sag, located in north-center of Huanghua depression in Bohai Basin, is a Cenozoic sag with rich hydrocarbon. As a microcosm of Bohai Basin, the fault characteristics of Cenozoic structural layers in Qikou sag could indicate and record the evolution of Cenozoic stress field in Bohai Basin. Based on the latest 3-D seismic data, the study takes statistics on the fault system of Cenozoic structural layers and analyzes the fault throws of major large faults along the strikes in different periods in Qikou sag, then the fault distribution regularities and the fault direction characteristics in each structural layer are summarized. The result shows that during Cenozoic, the fault activity strength migrates from southwest to northeast and the strikes of faults changes from northwestward in Sha-3 period to nearly east-westward since Sha-1 period.

Unitary space-time code is ideally suited for rapid fading scenarios as it can operate well without channel state information (CSI), which is of vital significance for improving the effectivity and reliability of wireless communication systems. Pair-wise error probability (PEP) is an important factor for studying the reliability of a communication system. However, the existing scheme only gives the final result of PEP and the corresponding Chernoff upper bound (CUB) is obtained through magnification, which is not of universal significance for this kind of problems. In this paper, we employ the log-likelihood ratio of probability density functions of the received signals conditioned on the two possibly transmitted signals and by virtue of moment generating function we give the details in deriving the final precise residue expression for PEP and its CUB. At last, we verify the above results by simulations.
