Encoding system plays a significant role in quantum key distribution(QKD).However,the security and performance of QKD systems can be compromised by encoding misalignment due to the inevitable defects in realistic *** alleviate the influence of misalignments,a method exploiting statistics from mismatched basis is proposed to enable uncharacterized sources to generate secure keys in *** this work,we propose a scheme on four-intensity decoy-state quantum key distribution with uncharacterized heralded single-photon *** only requires the source states are prepared in a two-dimensional Hilbert space,and can thus reduce the complexity of practical ***,we carry out corresponding numerical simulations and demonstrate that our present four-intensity decoy-state scheme can achieve a much higher key rate compared than a three-intensity decoy-state method,and meantime it can obtain a longer transmission distance compared than the one using weak coherent sources.

Geometrical configurations play a crucial role in dual-atom catalysts(DACs)for electrocatalytic *** progress has been made to design DACs electrocatalysts with various geometri-cal configurations,but in-depth understanding the relationship between geometrical configurations and metal-metal interaction mechanisms for designing targeted DACs is still *** this review,the recent progress in engineering of geometrical configurations of DACs is systematically *** on the polarity of geometrical configuration,DACs can be classified into two different types that are homonuclear and heteronuclear ***,with regard to the geometrical configurations of the active sites,homonuclear DACs are identified into adjacent and bridged configurations,and heteronuclear DACs can be classified into adjacent,bridged,and separated ***,metal-metal interactions in DACs with different geometrical configurations are ***,the applications of DACs in different electrocatalytic reactions are discussed,including the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),oxygen evolution reaction(OER),hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),and other ***,the future challenges and perspectives for advancements in DACs are *** review aims to provide inspiration for the design of highly effcient DACs towards energy relatedapplications.

Lens-free on-chip microscopy is a powerful and promising high-throughput computational microscopy technique due to its unique advantage of creating high-resolution images across the full field-of-view(FOV)of the imaging ***,most current lens-free microscopy methods have been designed for imaging only two-dimensional thin ***-free on-chip tomography(LFOCT)with a uniform resolution across the entire FOV and at a subpixel level remains a critical *** this paper,we demonstrated a new LFOCT technique and associated imaging platform based on wavelength scanning Fourier ptychographic diffraction tomography(wsFPDT).Instead of using angularlyvariable illuminations,in wsFPDT,the sample is illuminated by on-axis wavelength-variable illuminations,ranging from 430 to 1200 *** corresponding under-sampled diffraction patterns are recorded,and then an iterative ptychographic reconstruction procedure is applied to fill the spectrum of the three-dimensional(3D)scattering potential to recover the sample’s 3D refractive index(RI)*** wavelength-scanning scheme not only eliminates the need for mechanical motion during image acquisition and precise registration of the raw images but secures a quasi-uniform,pixel-super-resolved imaging resolution across the entire imaging *** wsFPDT,we demonstrate the high-throughput,billion-voxel 3D tomographic imaging results with a half-pitch lateral resolution of 775 nm and an axial resolution of 5.43μm across a large FOV of 29.85mm2 and an imaging depth of>200μ*** effectiveness of the proposed method was demonstrated by imaging various types of samples,including micropolystyrene beads,diatoms,and mouse mononuclear macrophage *** unique capability to reveal quantitative morphological properties,such as area,volume,and sphericity index of single cell over large cell populations makes wsFPDT a powerful quantitative and label-free tool for high-throughput biological applications.

Composite ceramic phosphor(CCP)is a candidate light-conversion material to obtain the high-quality laser lighting *** based on the transmissive configuration model could not simultaneously meet the requirements of angular color uniformity and high thermal *** this study,a novel composite structure ceramic was designed,including Al_(2)O_(3)-YAG:Ce/YAG layered ceramic with a size of 1 mm×1 mm for lighting,and Al_(2)O_(3) ceramic(φ=16.0 mm)was used as the wrapping material due to its outstanding thermal *** prepared ceramics exhibited excellent thermal performance and no yellow ring *** this design,we achieved the match of the intensity distribution of the blue and yellow lights,resulting in a high angular color uniformity of 0.9 with a view angle of±80°.All ceramics showed no luminous saturation phenomenon,even the laser power density was increased up to 47.51 W/mm^(2).A high-brightness white-light source with a luminous flux of 618 lm,a luminous efficiency of 126 lm/W,a CCT of 6615 K,and a CRI of 69.9 was obtained in the transmissive *** particular,the surface temperature of the ceramic was as low as 74.1℃ under a high laser radiation(47.51 W/mm^(2)).These results indicate that Al_(2)O_(3)/Al_(2)O_(3)-YAG:Ce/YAG composite structure ceramic is a promising luminescent material in the high-power laser lighting applications.

The transport-of-intensity equation(TIE) enables quantitative phase imaging(QPI) under partially coherent illumination by measuring the through-focus intensities combined with a linearized inverse reconstruction algorithm. However, overcoming its sensitivity to imaging settings remains a challenging problem because of the difficulty in tuning the optical parameters of the imaging system accurately and because of the instability to long-time measurements. To address these limitations, we propose and experimentally validate a solution called neural-field-assisted transport-of-intensity phase microscopy(NFTPM) by introducing a tunable defocus parameter into neural field. Without weak object approximation, NFTPM incorporates the physical prior of partially coherent image formation to constrain the neural field and learns the continuous representation of phase object without the need for training. Simulation and experimental results of He La cells demonstrate that NFTPM can achieve accurate, partially coherent QPI under unknown defocus distances, providing new possibilities for extending applications in live cell biology.

Axially loaded tubular structures are known to be highly sensitive to initial geometric imperfections,which can significantly reduce their design bearing *** address this issue,this study explores the potential of an origami-inspired design for tubular structures to achieve a lower sensitivity to *** study considers various designs,including diamond-shaped,pyramid-shaped,new Kresling,and pre-embedded rhombic origami tubes,and employs knockdown factors(KDFs)to illustrate the reduction of the design bearing capacity of these structures with initial geometric imperfections for safety *** element analysis shows that some of the origami tubes have superior design bearing capacity,mass efficiency,and KDFs when compared to standard circular *** the origami tubes considered,the rhombic tube demonstrates the best performance and is further studied through parametric analyses of geometric design,aspect ratio,and wall thickness to achieve additional performance ***,the superior performance of the rhombic tube is evaluated and verified for various loading scenarios,including eccentric compression and compression-torsion *** findings of this study provide a promising approach to designing and fabricating imperfection-insensitive tubes using advanced processing technologies such as additive *** work can potentially lead to the development of innovative tubular structures with enhanced safety and reliability in various engineering applications.

Phase change absorbents for CO_(2)are of great interest because they are expected to greatly reduce the heat energy consumption during the regeneration *** with other phase change absorbents,monoethanolamine(MEA)-sulfolane-water is inexpensive and has a fast absorption *** is one of the most promising solvents for large-scale industrial ***,this study investigates the mass transfer performance of this phase change system in the process of CO_(2)absorption in a packed *** comparing the phase change absorbent and the ordinary absorbent,it is concluded that the use of MEA/sulfolane phase change absorbent has significantly improved mass transfer efficiency compared to a single MEA absorbent at the same *** the 4 mol·L^(-1)MEA/5 mol·L^(-1)sulfolane system,the CO_(2)loading of the upper liquid phase after phase separation is almost zero,while the volume of the lower liquid phase sent to the desorption operation is about half of the total volume of the absorbent,which greatly reduces the energy *** study also investigates the influence of operating parameters such as lean CO_(2)loading,gas and liquid flow rates,CO_(2)partial pressure,and temperature on the volumetric mass transfer coefficient(K_(G)α_(V)).The research shows that K_(G)α_(V) increases with increasing liquid flow rate and decreases with the increase of lean CO_(2)loading and CO_(2)partial pressure,while the inert gas flow rate and temperature have little effect on K_(G)α_(V).In addition,based on the principle of phase change absorption,a predictive equation for the K_(G)α_(V) of MEA-sulfolane in the packed tower was *** K_(G)α_(V) obtained from the experiment is consistent with the model prediction,and the absolute average deviation(AAD)is 7.8%.
