Terahertz biotechnology has been increasingly applied in various biomedical fields and has especially shown great potential for application in brain *** this article,we review the development of terahertz biotechnology and its applications in the field of *** evidence indicates promising prospects for the use of terahertz spectroscopy and terahertz imaging techniques in the diagnosis of amyloid disease,cerebrovascular disease,glioma,psychiatric disease,traumatic brain injury,and myelin *** vitro and animal experiments have also demonstrated the potential therapeutic value of terahertz technology in some neuropsychiatric *** the precise underlying mechanism of the interactions between terahertz electromagnetic waves and the biosystem is not yet fully understood,the research progress in this field shows great potential for biomedical noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic ***,the biosafety of terahertz radiation requires further exploration regarding its two-sided efficacy in practical *** review demonstrates that terahertz biotechnology has the potential to be a promising method in the field of neuropsychiatry based on its unique advantages.

Ovarian endometrioma（OE）, also known as “chocolate cysts,” is a cystic mass that develops in the ovaries due to endometriosis and is a common gynecological condition characterized by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, leading to symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, and infertility. However, the precise molecular and cellular mechanisms driving this pathophysiology remain largely unknown, posing challenges for diagnosis and treatment. Here, we employed integrated single-cell transcriptomic profiling of over 52,000 individual cells from endometrial tissues of OE patients and healthy donors and identified twelve major cell populations. We identified notable alterations in cell type-specific proportions and molecular signatures associated with OE. Notably, the activation of IGFBP5+macrophages with pro-inflammatory properties, NK cell exhaustion, and aberrant proliferation of IQCG+and KLF2+epithelium are key features and may be the potential mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of OE. Collectively, our data contribute to a better understanding of OE at the single cell level and may pave the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Cohort study on the treatment of BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer with integrated chinese and western medicine

BACKGROUND Patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC)have a low incidence rate,poor biological activity,suboptimal response to conventional treatments,and a poor *** the previous cohort study on mCRC conducted by our team,it was observed that integrated chinese and Western medicine treatment could significantly prolong the overall survival(OS)of patients with colorectal ***,we further explored the survival benefits in the population with BRAF V600E mutant *** To evaluate the efficacy of integrated chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal *** A cohort study was conducted on patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer admitted to Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of chinese medical sciences and Traditional chinese Medicine Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from January 2016 to December *** patients were divided into two *** A total of 34 cases were included,with 23 in chinese-Western medicine cohort(cohort A)and 11 in Western medicine cohort(cohort B).The median overall survival was 19.9 months in cohort A and 14.2 months in cohort B,with a statistically significant difference(P=0.038,hazard ratio=0.46).The 1-3-year survival rates were 95.65%(22/23),39.13%(9/23),and 26.09%(6/23)in cohort A,and 63.64%(7/11),18.18%(2/11),and 9.09%(1/11)in cohort B,*** analysis showed statistically significant differences in median OS between the two cohorts in the right colon,liver metastasis,chemotherapy,and first-line treatment subgroups(Pchinese and Western medicine can prolong the survival and reduce the risk of death in patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer,with more pronounced benefits observed in patients with right colon involvement,liver metastasis,combined chemotherapy,and first-line treatment.

Using laser confocal scanning microscope to study ischemia-hypoxia injury in rat brain slice

The level of lipid peroxidation and cellular necrosis in rat living brain slices during brain ischemia-hypoxia injury have been observed using a laser confocal scanning microscope (LCSM) with double labeling of fluorescent probes D-399 (2, 7-dichlorofluorescin diacetate) and propidium iodide (Pl). The hypoxia and/or reoxygenation injury in rat brain slices is markedly decreased by pretreatment with L-NG-nitro-arginine (L-NNA) and N-acetylcysteine (NAC), showing that the nitric oxide (NO) and other free radicals play an important role in brain ischemia-hypoxia injury.

Sensory reinnervation of muscle spindles after repair of tibial nerve defects using autogenous vein grafts

Motor reinnervation after repair of tibial nerve defects using autologous vein grafts in rats has previously been reported, but sensory reinnervation after the same repair has not been fully investigated. In this study, partial sensory reinnervation of muscle spindles was observed after repair of lO-mm left tibial nerve defects using autologous vein grafts with end-to-end anasto- mosis in rats, and functional recovery was confirmed by electrophysiological studies. There were no significant differences in the number, size, or electrophysiological function of reinnervated muscle spindles between the two experimental groups. These findings suggest that repair of short nerve defects with autologous vein grafts provides comparable results to immediate end-to-end anastomosis in terms of sensory reinnervation of muscle spindles.

Shen Qi Wan attenuates renal interstitial fibrosis through upregulating AQP1

Renal interstitial fibrosis(RIF)is the crucial pathway in chronic kidney disease(CKD)leading to the end-stage renal ***,the underlying mechanism of Shen Qi Wan(SQW)on RIF is not fully *** the current study,we investigated the role of Aquaporin 1(AQP1)in SQW on tubular epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EMT).A RIF mouse model induced by adenine and a TGF-β1-stimulated HK-2 cell model were etablished to explore the involvement of AQP 1 in the protective effect of SQW on EMT in vitro and in ***,the molecular mechanism of SQW on EMT was explored in HK-2 cells with AQP1 *** results indicated that SQW alleviated kidney injury and renal collagen deposition in the kidneys of mice induced by adenine,increased the protein expression of E-cadherin and AQP1 expression,and decreased the expression of vimentin andα-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA).Similarly,treatmement with SQW-containing serum significantly halted EMT process in TGF-β1 stimulated HK-2 *** expression of snail and slug was significantly upregulated in HK-2 cells after knockdown of ***1 knockdown also increased the mRNA expression of vimentin andα-SMA,and decreased the expression of *** protein expression of vimentin increased,while the expression of E-cadherin and CK-18 significantly decreased after AQP1 knockdown in HK-2 *** results revealed that AQP1 knockdown promoted ***,AQP1 knockdown abolished the protective effect of SQW-containing serum on EMT in HK-2 *** sum,SQW attentuates EMT process in RIF through upregulation of the expression of AQP1.

Effect of Chaiqinchengqi decoction on sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca^(2+)-ATPase mRNA expression of pancreatic tissues in acute pancreatitis rats

AIM: To investigate the effect of Chaiqinchengqi decoction (CQCQD) on sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase (SERCA) mRNA expression of pancreatic tissues in acute pancreatitis (AP) rats. METHODS: Thirty Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomized into control group, AP group and CQCQD group (n = 3 × 10). The rats in the CQCQD group were intragastrically administered with CQCQD (10 mL/kg every 2 h) after induction of AP by intraperitoneal injection of caerulein (50 μg/kg.h × 5) within 4 h. At 6 h after the induction of AP model, pancreatic tissues were collected for the pathological observation, mRNA extraction for determination of SERCA1 and SERCA2 mRNA expression or pancreatic acinar cell isolation for measurement of fluorescence intensity (FI) of intracellular calcium ion concentration [Ca2+]i. RESULTS: There was no expression of pancreatic SERCA1 mRNA in the control group and the AP group. The expression of pancreatic SERCA2 mRNA in the AP group was down-regulated (expression ratio = 0.536; P = 0.001) compared with the control group, while that in the CQCQD group was up-regulated (expression ratio= 2.00; P = 0.012) compared with AP group. The FI of intracellular [Ca2+] of pancreatic acinar cells in the AP group (138.2 ± 23.1) was higher than the C group (111.0 ± 18.4) and the CQCQD group (118.7 ± 15.2 ) (P < 0.05) and the pancreatic pathological score in the CQCQD group was lower than that in the AP group (5.7 ± 1.9 vs 9.2 ± 2.7, P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: CQCQD can up-regulate the expression of SERCA2 mRNA of pancreatic tissues, reduce intracellular calcium overload and relieve pancreatic tissue lesions.
