Graphene nanopore has been extensively employed in nanoscale sensing devices due to its outstanding *** understanding of its mechanical properties at nanoscale is crucial for sensing *** this work,the mechanical proper ties of graphene nanopore are t hus investigated using the atomistic finite element met *** graphene models with different pore shapes(circle(CR),horizontal rec tangle(RH),vertical rec tangle(RV)and square(SQ))in sub-5nm size,which could be successfully fabricated experimentally,have been studied *** force normal to a pore rim is applied to mimic the impact force due to a fluid *** expected,the strength of nanoholed graphene is pore size *** pore size results in the reduction in its str *** bet ween different pore shapes with comparable sizes,the order of pore st rength is CR>RH>RV>*** addition,two different corner st rue tu res(V-like or zigzag and C-like or armchair corners)are observed,where the V-like st rue ture causes higher tensile ***,we find that the highest tensile stress is produced at the corner in all *** finding suggests the corners as an origin of pore *** results of RH and RV highlight the impact of a direction of pore orientation on mechanical *** a long side of a pore along the zigzag direction gains more tensile stress,while aligning on an armchair side causes a *** only the pore geometry and size,but also the pore orientation is crucial for defining the mechanical properties of nanopores.

Effect of calcination temperature on structural and optical properties of MAl2O4（M=Ni, Cu, Zn） aluminate spinel nanoparticles

NiAl2O4,CuAl2O4,and ZnAl2O4 aluminate spinel nanoparticles were synthesized by sol-gel auto combustion method using diethanolamine(DEA)as a *** effects of calcination temperature on structure,crystallinity,morphology,and optical properties of MAl2O4(M=Ni,Cu,Zn)have been investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-DRS),and photoluminescence(PL)*** XRD and FT-IR results confirm the formation of single-phase spinel structure of NiAl2O4,CuAl2O4,and ZnAl2O4 at 1200,1000,and 600℃,*** direct band gap of these aluminate spinels,calculated from UV-DRS spectra using the Kubelka–Munk function,is found to increase with calcination *** PL spectra demonstrate that NiAl2O4 gives the highest blue emission intensity,while CuAl2O4 and ZnAl2O4 exhibit a very strong violet *** fluorescence process,the ZnAl2O4 emits visible light in only violet and blue regions,while Ni Al2O4 and CuAl2O4 emissions extend to the green *** seems therefore that the transition metal type and intrinsic defects in these aluminate powders are responsible for these phenomena.

Deliberation between PM1 and PM2.5 as air quality indicators based on comprehensive characterization of urban aerosols in Bangkok, Thailand

Urban ambient aerosols in the size range below 10 μm were measured and sampled for further evalua- tion （by Raman and Thermal-Optical analysis） of the collected material. The presented data shows that monitoring number and/or surface area concentrations besides the mass concentration provides valu- able information for a meaningful assessment of the actual ambient air quality. The aim of the study was to characterize the urban aerosols using various instruments, methods, and sampling conditions, and to determine whether a split of the PMzs size fraction at PM1 may deliver a more sensible indication of the actual air quality than the current standard of monitoring PMzs. We found substantial differences relating to this split. PM2.5 data frequently include particles from both mechanical and combustion processes, PM1 measurements can be used to better distinguish particles derived from these two sources. We measured number concentrations of PM1 with PM2.5-1 concurrently with particle mass concentration and found that the typical average particle diameter by mass in the urban aerosols investigated was in the range of 120 nm; this corresponded well with the particle number size distributions measured in real time. Raman spectral analysis and thermal-optical evaluation of the sampled material also suggested that it would be sensible to split the measurement of the PM2.5 fraction into PM1 and PM2.s-1 size fractions, especially for analysis of carbonaceous aerosol components using the DRI thermal/optical reflectance carbon analysis system

Effect of seed priming with different concentrations of potassium nitrate on the pattern of seed imbibition and germination of rice(Oryza sativa L.)

Low germination and vigor of rice seed associated with dry-seed broadcasting are common problems encountered by rice *** objectives of this study were to evaluate the role of potassium nitrate（KNO3）on the pattern of seed imbibition and to determine the effect of seed priming with KNO3 on the germination percentage,speed and uniformity of germination in rice *** 1 compared the patterns of seed imbibition of six concentrations of KNO3（0,0.25,0.50,1.00,1.50,and 2.00%）in two rice cultivars-KDML105 and *** results showed that soaking rice seed in KNO3 at higher concentrations could delay the imbibition *** higher concentrations of KNO3 delayed the imbibition time of rice seed and took a longer time to reach the end of phases 1 and 2 compared to the lower *** patterns of seed imbibition using distilled water of both rice cultivars（KDML105 and RD15）were quite similar,but with different concentrations of KNO3,the imbibition time taken to reach the end of phases 1 and 2 was slightly postponed in KDML105 suggesting that different rice cultivars may need different imbibition times for soaking seed in the priming *** 2 evaluated the effects of seed priming with 1.0 and 2.0%KNO3 at different imbibition *** was found that priming with 1.0%KNO3 showed better seed germination than priming with 2.0%KNO3 and seed priming with 1.0%KNO3 at the imbibition time of early phase 2（or 28 h for KDML105）improved seed germination and increased both the speed and uniformity of seed *** results of this study show promise for the use of priming with 1.0%KNO3 soaked until early phase 2 of seed imbibition for improving the seed germination and vigor of rice in dry seed broadcasting.

The Nong Han Chaloem Phrakiat Lotus Park is a tourist attraction and a source of learning regarding lotus ***,as a training area,it lacks appeal and learning motivation due to its conventional presentation of information regarding lotus *** current study introduced the concept of smart learning in this setting to increase interest and motivation for *** neural networks(CNNs)were used for the classification of lotus plant species,for use in the development of a mobile application to display details about each *** scope of the study was to classify 11 species of lotus plants using the proposed CNN model based on different techniques(augmentation,dropout,and L2)and hyper parameters(dropout and epoch number).The expected outcome was to obtain a high-performance CNN model with reduced total parameters compared to using three different pre-trained CNN models(Inception V3,VGG16,and VGG19)as *** performance of the model was presented in terms of accuracy,F1-score,precision,and recall *** results showed that the CNN model with the augmentation,dropout,and L2 techniques at a dropout value of 0.4 and an epoch number of 30 provided the highest testing accuracy of *** best proposed model was more accurate than the pre-trained CNN models,especially compared to Inception *** addition,the number of total parameters was reduced by approximately 1.80–2.19 *** findings demonstrated that the proposed model with a small number of total parameters had a satisfactory degree of classification accuracy.

Explainable deep transfer learning for energy efficiency prediction based on uncertainty detection and identification

Energy efficiency is an important aspect of increasing production capacity, minimizing environmental impact, and reducing energy usage in the petrochemical industries. However, in practice, data quality can be degraded by measurement malfunction throughout the operation, leading to unreliable and inaccurate prediction results. Therefore, this paper presents a transfer learning fault detection and identification-energy efficiency predictor (TFDI-EEP) model formulated using long short-term memory. The model aims to predict the energy efficiency of the petrochemical process under uncertainty by using the knowledge gained from the uncertainty detection task to improve prediction performance. The transfer procedure resolves weight initialization by applying partial layer freezing before fine-tuning the additional part of the model. The performance of the proposed model is verified on a wide range of fault variations to thoroughly examine the maximum contribution of faults that the model can tolerate. The results indicate that the TFDI-EEP achieved the highest r-squared and lowest error in the testing step for both the 10% and 20% fault variation datasets compared to other conventional methods. Furthermore, the revelation of interconnection between domains shows that the proposed model can also identify strong fault-correlated features, enhancing monitoring ability and strengthening the robustness and reliability of the model observed by the number of outliers. The transfer parameter improves the prediction performance by 9.86% based on detection accuracy and achieves an r-squared greater than 0.95 on the 40% testing fault variation.

Josephson Effect in Graphene： Comparison of Real and Pseudo Vector Potential Barriers

The Josephson currents through real vector potential （RVP） and pseudo vector potential （PVP） barriers in graphene are investigated. In graphene, the pseudo vector potential may be caused by a local strain. The comparison of supercurrents induced by the two type-barriers is focused. As a result, we find that not only will the RVP induce a transition Josephson current from the 0→π state but also causes the difference in the phases of the order parameters of the two superconducting graphene layers to shift from φ→2φ. The critical current is PVP-independent around the neutrality point while it strongly depends on the RVP. The vector potential dependence of critical current is found to be perfectly linear for both PVP and RVP barriers.

Two-dimensional CFD simulation and pilot-scale experimental verification of a downdraft gasifier: effect of reactor aspect ratios on temperature and syngas composition during gasification

This paper focuses on a two-dimensional CFD simulation of a downdraft gasifier and a pilot-scale experiment for verification using wood pellet *** simulation work was carried out via the ANSYS-Fluent CFD software package with in-house coding via User Defined *** gasification parameters were taken into account in the simulation and validation to achieve highly accurate results;namely,fuel consumption,temperature profile,and syngas *** verification of the developed model,the effects of aspect ratios on temperature and syngas composition were *** from simulation and experimental work indicated that the fuel consumption rate during the steady state gasification experiment was 1.750±0.048 g/*** average steady state temperature of the experiment was 1240.32±14.20 *** sum,the fuel consumption and temperature profile during gasification from modeling and experimentation show an error lower than 1.3%.Concentrations of CO,CO2,H2,and CH4 were 20.42 vol%,15.09 vol%,8.02 vol%,and 2.6 vol%,respectively,which are comparable to those of the experiment:20.00 vol%,15.48 vol%,8.00 vol%,and 2.65 vol%.A high concentration of syngas is observed in the outer radial part of the reactor because of the resistive flow of the air inlet and the synthesis gas *** average temperatures during the steady state of the gasifier with aspect ratios(H/D)of 1.00,1.38(experiment),and 1.82 were 978.77±11.60,1256.46±9.90,and 1368.94±9.20 K,*** 1.82 aspect ratio reactor has the smallest diameter,therefore the radiative heat transferred from the reactor wall affects the temperature in the *** compositions are *** relationships between the aspect ratios and the syngas LHV,(4.29–4.49 MJ/N m3),cold gas efficiency(29.66%to 31.00%),and carbon conversion(79.59%to 80.87%)are observed.

Magnetic properties of NdFeB-coated rubberwood composites

Magnetic properties of composites prepared by coating lacquer containing neodymium iron boron （Nd-Fe-B） powders on rubberwood were characterized by vibrating sample magnetometry （VSM）, magnetic moment measurements, and attraction tests with an iron-core solenoid. The Nd-Fe-B powders were recycled from electronic wastes by the ball-milling technique. Varying the milling time from 20 to 300 min, the magnetic squareness and the coercive field of the Nd-Fe-B powders were at the minimum when the powders were milled for 130 rain. It followed that the coercive field of the magnetic wood composites was increased with the milling time increasing from 130 to 300 min. For the magnetic wood composites using Nd-Fe-B obtained from the same milling time, the magnetic squareness and the coercive field were rather insensitive to the variation of Nd-Fe-B concentration in coating lacquer from 0.43 to 1.00 g/cm3. By contrast, the magnetization and magnetic moment were increased with the Nd-Fe-B concentration increasing. Furthermore, the electrical current in the solenoid required for the attraction of the magnetic wood composites was exponentially reduced with the increase in the amount of Nd-Fe-B used in the coating.

Influence of changes in extreme daily rainfall distribution on the stability of residual soil slopes

Many landslides triggered by intense rainfall have occurred in moun-tainous areas in Thailand,causing major economic losses and infra-structure *** daily rainfall is a significant trigger for hillslope *** in extreme daily rainfall intensity due to climate change may be one of the key factors responsible for the increased ***,in this context,changes in the intensity of extreme daily rainfall in Chiang Mai Province in North Thailand and their effects on hillslope stability are *** rainfall is modeled using a generalized extreme value distribution and esti-mated for various return periods.A numerical analysis of seepage and an infinite slope stability model are combined to understand the hillslope response under extreme rainfall *** analysis period is divided into two periods of 34 years:1952 to 1985 and 1986 to *** to the analysis results,the distribution of extreme daily rainfall changes in terms of *** average annual daily maximum rainfall increased by approximately 11.13%.The maximum decrease in the safety factor is approximately 4.5%;therefore,these changes in extreme daily rainfall should be consid-ered in future landslide prevention policies.
