Influence of environmental predispositions on temperate mountain forest damage at different spatial scales during alternating drought and flood periods:case study in Hruby Jeseník Mts.(czech republic)

Viewpoints of the target population regarding barriers and facilitators of colorectal cancer screening in the czech republic

BACKGROUND Public awareness of colorectal cancer(CRC) and uptake of CRC screening remain challenges. The viewpoints of the target population(asymptomatic individuals older than 50) regarding CRC screening information sources and the reasons for and against participation in CRC screening are not well known in the czech republic. This study aimed to acquire independent opinions from the target population independently on the health *** To investigate the viewpoints of the target population regarding the source of information for and barriers and facilitators of CRC *** A survey among relatives(aged 50 and older) of university students was conducted. Participants answered a questionnaire about sources of awareness regarding CRC screening, reasons for and against participation, and suggestions for improvements in CRC screening. The effect of certain variables on participation in CRC screening was *** Of 498 participants, 478(96%) respondents had some information about CRC screening and 375(75.3%) had participated in a CRC screening test. General practitioners(GPs)(n = 319, 64.1%) and traditional media(n = 166, 33.3%) were the most common information sources regarding CRC screening. A lack of interest or time and a fear of colonoscopy or positive results were reported as reasons for non-participation. Individuals aged > 60 years [adjusted odds ratio(aOR) = 2.30, 95% confidence interval(CI)(1.42-3.71), P = 0.001], females(aOR =1.95, 95%CI(1.26-3.01) P = 0.003), and relatives of CRC patients(aOR = 4.17,95%CI(1.82-9.58) P = 0.001) were more likely to participate in *** regarding screening provided by physicians-GPs:(aOR = 8.11,95%CI(4.90-13.41), P < 0.001) and other specialists(aOR = 4.19, 95%CI(1.87-9.38),P = 0.001) increased participation in screening. The Moravian karst belongs to one of the famous karst regions in Central Europe. It is situated in Moravia in the eastern part of the czech republic. According to the geology it is of Devonian age and the main rocks are of different types of limestones. The process of karstification is still active. They are many caves with rich stalagmites and stalactites and the Macocha abyss, the depth of which is 138.5 m. The underground Punkva River flows through the main part of the karst, forming beautiful underground lakes. Typical karst phenomena, such as sinkholes and deep canyons, may be observed on the surface of the terrain. Because of the karstification, water erosion and frost weathering, many steep unstable slopes and walls originated. To solve the stability from a geotechnical point of view is not easy. This requests a special engineering-geological knowledge and experience.

The cereal cyst nematode,Heterodera avenae Wollenweber,1924,is a major pest of cereal crops throughout the world and causes serious yield losses,especially of *** studies have shown that this species is widely distributed in the czech *** this study,seven populations of *** were molecularly studied,and one population was morphologically *** regions（18S,28S,and internal transcribed spacer 1）of ribosomal DNA were sequenced and the analysis of the 18S gene of six populations did not reveal any variation,whereas the internal transcribed spacer 1and 28S sequences of six populations differed by only two nucleotides from a population in？*** and quick identification of cereal cyst nematodes is important for effective control measures and ribosomal sequence analyses of seven populations in this study will be useful in future phylogenetic studies of Heterodera *** in the czech republic.

Geomorphic evidence of ancient catastrophic flow type landslides in the mid-mountain ridges of the Western Flysch Carpathian Mountains(czech republic)

Ancient flow type landslides are relatively frequent fossil forms of the relief in mid-mountain conditions of the czech Carpathian Mountains. Sixty rather distinctive displays of debris flows,rock avalanches,and debris avalanches have been mapped in the uppermost part of the territory. Unlike contemporary sporadic and low volume debris flows,ancient(Pleistocene and Lower Holocene) accumulations are a few orders of magnitude more extensive and were of considerable geomorphologic significance in forming the steep sections of mountain valleys and slopes. This geomorphic pattern does not hold for flow type slides,the source of which is material released as a consequence of numerous deep-seated landslides. Due to deep disruption of slopes,a few high-magnitude flow type landslides(e.g.,rock avalanches),quite rare in flysch mid-mountain conditions,also occurred in the Late Holocene.

Virome identification in wheat in the czech republic using small RNA deep sequencing

High-throughput deep-sequencing technology and bioinformatics analysis of the small RNA(sRNA)population isolated from plants allows universal virus detection and complete virome reconstruction for a given *** the present sRNA deep-sequencing analysis of virus-infected wheat samples in the czech republic,samples were firstly tested for barley yellow dwarf viruses(BYDVs),wheat streak mosaic virus(WSMV)and wheat dwarf virus(WDV)using ELISA,RT-PCR and *** sRNA sequencing of these samples yielded more than^60 million single-end 50-bp reads with high confidence for nine field samples of ***,16.5%of reads were virus-specific and 83.5%were mapped to the *** 21-nt reads(-7.7E+06 reads)were found than 24-nt(~6.20E+06 reads)or 22-nt(-4.30E+06 reads)*** novo assembly of the high-quality contigs revealed the presence of three earlier repoted viruses in the czech republic:BYDVs(31.48%),WSMV(24.23%)and WDV(2666%).We also showed the presence of cereal yellow dwarf virus(14.33%;two species CYDV-RPS and CYDV-RPV family Luteoviridae/Polerovirus)and wheat yellow dwarf virus(WYDV,3.30%;Luteoviridae).Phylogenetic analysis showed CYDV and WYDV grouped separately from ***,several recombination breakpoints were found among the groups of yellow dwarf viruses(BYDVs,CYDV,and WYDV).Using RNA deep sequencing,we confirmed the presence of the three known viruses(BYDVs,WSMV,and WDV)and the first record of two species of CYDV and WYDV in wheat in the czech republic.

Molecular diversity of barley yellow dwarf virus-PAV from China and the czech republic

Wheat yellow dwarf disease(BYD),caused by different species of barley/cereal yellow dwarf viruses(B/CYDVs),is one of the most serious cereal diseases in China and the czech *** genetic diversity of the virus directly influences disease epidemiology,the molecular diversity and population structure of 24 Chinese isolates and 16 the czech republic isolates of BYDV-PAV from different regions in two countries were analyzed by sequencing their coat protein(CP)and readthrough protein(RTP)domain(RTD)genes and comparing the sequences with six CP and 16 RTP sequences of BYDVPAV isolates from the NCBI database based on nucleotide identity position,phylogenetic analysis and nucleotide *** identities between the Chinese and the czech republic isolates for the CP were 76.6–99.4%,73.9–89.1%for RTD(ORF5),*** Chinese and the other country isolates showed 74.7–99.2%nucleotide identity for RTP(ORF3+ORF5).Phylogenetic analysis of CP sequences showed that 20 Chinese isolates clustered in the same clade,but the other four Chinese isolates clustered in another clade with the isolates from the czech republic and other *** population of BYDV-PAV in China had greater nucleotide variability and was more divergent than that in the czech *** and ecological factors but not hosts might contribute to the population differences in the two countries.

Plant-Arthropod Associations from the Lower Miocene of the Most Basin in Northern Bohemia(czech republic):A Preliminary Report

Terrestrial plants and insects currently account for the majority of the Earth＇s biodiversity, and approximately haft of insect species are herbivores. Thus, insects and plants share ancient associations that date back more than 400 Myr. However, investigations of their past interactions are at the preliminary stages in Western Europe. Herein, we present the first results of our study of various feeding damage based on a dataset of nearly 3500 examined plant specimens from the Lower Miocene of the Lagerstaette Bflina Mine in the Most Basin, czech republic. This site provides a unique view of the Neogene freshwater ecosystems. It has long been studied by scientists working in different branches of sedimentology, paleobotany, and paleozoology. The fossils are preserved in three characteristic horizons overlaying the coal seam （Clayey Superseam Horizon, Delta Sandy Horizon, and Lake Clayey Horizon）, reflecting paleoenvironmental changes in a short time period of development. The trace fossils are classified as functional feeding groups or ＂guilds＂, without searching for a direct cause or a recent analog host relation. Approximately 23% of specimens of dicotyledonous plant leaves were found to be damaged and associated with some leaf ＂morphotypes＂. Deciduous plant-host taxa, and those with a chartaceous texture typical of riparian habitats, were frequently damaged, such as Populus, recorded with two species Populus zaddachii and Populus populina （57.9% and 31% herbivory levels, respectively）, followed by Acer, Alnus, and Carya, averaging almost 30% of damaged leaves/leaflets. There has been evidence of 60 damage types （DT） representing all functional feeding groups recorded at the Bflina Mine, including 12 types of leaf mines and 16 gall- type DT. In total, Lower Miocene of the Lagerstaette Bilina Mine exhibits a high level of external foliage feeding types （23.7%）, and a low level of more specialized DT, such as galls （4.3%） and leaf mines （〈1%）.
