Effects of Nitrogen Doping on Microstructures and Irradiation Resistance of Ti-Zr-Nb-V-Mo Refractory High-Entropy Alloy

Interstitial strengthening with nitrogen(N)is one of the effective ways to improve the mechanical properties of HEAs,but the effects of N on the microstructures and mechanical properties of the irradiated HEAs have not been studied ***,the microstructures and mechanical properties of N-free and N-doped Ti_(2)ZrNbV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2)HEAs before and after He irradiation were *** results showed that the solid solution strengthening caused by interstitial N improved the yield strength at room temperature and 1023 K without significantly reducing plasticity.N doping significantly promoted the growth,aggregation and wider spatial distribution of He bubbles by enhancing the mobility of He atoms/He-vacancy complexes,with the average size of He bubbles increasing from 10.4 nm in N-free HEA to 31.0 nm in N-doped *** addition,N-doped HEA showed a much higher irradiation hardness increment and hardening fraction than N-free *** to conventional materials doped with N,the introduction of N into Ti_(2)ZrNbV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2)HEA had adverse effects on its resistance to He bubble growth and irradiation *** results of this study indicated that N doping may not improve the irradiation resistance of HEAs.

Nano Ag-ITO films with Ag volume fraction of 0.3%-1.0% were prepared by radio-frequency magnetron co-sputtering and analyzed by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and ultraviolet-visible *** analysis shows that the films are composed of polycrystalline ITO matrix embedded with Ag nanoparticles with a mean size of 60-100 *** spectra of Ag-ITO films indicate that the visible light transmissivity of the films decreases with increasing the Ag *** transmissivity of the annealed films is higher than that of the as-deposited *** volume 0.3% Ag-ITO films have the highest light *** annealed films exhibit lower light absorptance than as-deposited films.A surface plasmon resonance(SPR) peak of volume 0.3% Ag-ITO films is located around 510 *** with the annealed ITO film,the annealed volume 0.3% Ag-ITO film shows 10% higher reflectivity,while its transmittance is almost the same as that of the annealed ITO film,indicating its potential application in new-type transflective displays.

ITO films with thicknesses (134+8) nm, grown on glass substrates by sputtering method, were post-annealed at the temperatures of 100, 200, 300 and 400°C for 1 h, respectively. The as-deposited ITO film was amorphous, but crystallized with annealing at elevated temperatures, as demonstrated by X-ray diffraction. The transmittance spectra of all samples were obtained and subsequently simulated by means of spectroscopic ellipsometry. The optical constants n and k of the films were extracted. With the annealing temperature increasing, the optical constants n and k of the films firstly decreased then increased in the whole investigated wavelength range. The optical band gaps of all films were evaluated and they varied between 3.74 and 3.93 eV.

A plasma-microwave absorptive material (MAM)-plasma sandwich structure is presented to protect the electronic device against high power electromagnetic pulse. The model of electromagnetic wave reflected by and transmitting through the structure is established. Based on the characteristic parameters of plasma generated by discharge and usual MAM, the electromagnetic transmissive properties of the sandwich structure are investigated by the method of finite difference in time domain. The results indicate that in a rather broad frequency range, the electromagnetic attenuations by the structure are obviously better than the sum of attenuations resulted from plasma and MAM respectively. The models and results presented are instructive for electromagnetic pulse protection.

The radical intermediates, the crosslink microstructures, and the reaction mechanism of benzophenone (BP)-photoinitiated crosslinking of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and model compounds (MD) have been reviewed in detail. The spin-trapping electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra obtained from the LDPE/BP systems with spin-trap agents show that two kinds of polymer radical intermediates are mainly formed: tertiary carbon and secondary carbon radicals. The spin-trapping ESR studies of MD/BP systems give further evidence that photocrosslinking reactions of PE predominantly take place a sites of tertiary carbon, secondary carbon, and especially allylic carbon when available. The high resolution C-13-NMR spectra obtained from LDPE and MD systems show that the crosslink microstructures have H- and Y-type links and that their concentrations are of the same order. The fluorescence, ESR, C-13 and H-1-NMR spectra from the PE and MD systems demonstrate that the main photoreduction product of BP (PPB) is benzpinacol formed by the recombination of two diphenylhydroxymethyl (K-.) radical intermediates. Two new PPB products: an isomer of benzpinacol with quinoid structure, 1-phenylhydroxymethylene-4-diphenylhydroxymethyl-2,5-cyclobexadiene and three kinds of alpha-alkyl-benzhydrols have been detected and identified. These results provide new experimental evidence for elucidating the reaction mechanism in the BP-photoinitiated crosslinking of polyethylene.

We report a facile synthesis method of dendrimer-like star-branched poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) via the combination of click chemistry and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) by employing the arm-first ***,the α-azido-ω-chloro-heterodifunctionalized building block,N3-PNIPAM-Cl (G0-Cl),was synthesized via ATRP by 3-azidopropyl 2-chloropropionate as the *** advantage of click chemistry,the first generation (G1) of dendrimer-like star-branched PNIPAM,G1-(Cl)3,was facilely prepared via the click coupling reaction between G0-Cl and *** the construction of second generation (G2) dendrimer-like star-branched PNIPAM,G2-(Cl)6,terminal chloride moieties of G1-(Cl)3 were first converted to azide,and then reacted with excess tripropargylamine to give G1-(alkynyl)6 ;G2-(Cl)6 was subsequently prepared via click reaction between G1-(alkynyl) 6 and *** permeation chromatography (GPC) and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry were employed to confirm the successful construction of dendrimer-like star-branched *** unique thermal phase transition behavior of this dendrimer-like star-branched polymer in aqueous solutions was further investigated by turbidimetry and micro-differential scanning calorimetry (Micro-DSC).
