Energy band alignment of 2D/3D MoS_(2)/4H-SiC heterostructure modulated by multiple interfacial interactions

The interfacial properties of MoS_(2)/4H-SiC heterostructures were studied by combining first-principles calculations and X-ray photoelectron ***(theoretical)valence band offsets(VBOs)increase from 1.49(1.46)to 2.19(2.36)eV with increasing MoS_(2) monolayer(1L)up to 4 layers(4L).A strong interlayer interaction was revealed at 1L MoS_(2)/SiC *** level pinning and totally surface passivation were realized for 4H-SiC(0001)*** 0.96e per unit cell transferring forms an electric field from SiC to MoS_(2).Then,1L MoS_(2)/SiC interface exhibits type I band alignment with the asymmetric conduction band offset(CBO)and *** 2L and 4L MoS_(2)/SiC,Fermi level was just pinning at the lower MoS_(2)*** interaction keeps weak vdW interaction between upper and lower MoS_(2) *** exhibit the type II band alignments and the enlarged CBOs and VBOs,which is attributed to weak vdW interaction and strong interlayer orbital coupling in the multilayer MoS_(2).High efficiency of charge separation will emerge due to the asymmetric band alignment and built-in electric field for all the MoS_(2)/SiC *** multiple interfacial interactions provide a new modulated perspective for the next-generation electronics and optoelectronics based on the 2D/3D semiconductors heterojunctions.

Transient features of graphitization and nitrogen-vacancy color centers in a diamond fabricated by localization femtosecond laser direct writing

Femtosecond laser direct writing provides an efficient approach to fabricating single nitrogen vacancy(NV) color centers with a relatively high yield. Different from previously reported NV color centers with a random distribution in a bulk diamond or nanocrystals, this gives an opportunity to study the photophysical properties of single NV color centers with precise numbers and positions. However, ultrafast studies on single NV color centers prepared by localization femtosecond laser direct writing are still rare, especially for the graphitization inside a diamond and its relationship with single NV color centers. Here, we report the broadband transient absorption(TA) spectroscopic features of the graphitization and NV color centers in a diamond fabricated by localization femtosecond laser direct writing at room temperature under 400 nm excitation. In comparison with the graphene oxide film, the bleaching features of the graphitization point array in a diamond are similar to reduced graphene oxide,accompanied by excited state absorption signals from local carbon atom vacancy defects in graphene-like structures induced by laser writing. On the other hand, transient features of laser processing array containing single NV color centers with a yield of~50% are different from those of the graphitization point array. Our findings suggest that for ultrashort pulse processing of diamonds, broadband TA spectral signals are sensitive to the surrounding atomic environment of processing sites, which could be applied to laser writing point defects in other materials used as solid-state single photon sources.

Solving Multi-Objective Vehicle Routing Problems with Time Windows: A Decomposition-Based Multiform Optimization Approach

In solving multi-objective vehicle routing problems with time windows (MOVRPTW),most existing algorithms focus on the optimization of a single problem formulation. However,little effort has been devoted to exploiting valuable knowledge from the alternate formulations of MOVRPTW for better optimization performance. Aiming at this insufficiency,this study proposes a decomposition-based multi-objective multiform evolutionary algorithm (MMFEA/D),which performs the evolutionary search on multiple alternate formulations of MOVRPTW simultaneously to complement each other. In particular,the main characteristics of MMFEA/D are three folds. First,a multiform construction (MFC) strategy is adopted to construct multiple alternate formulations,each of which is formulated by grouping several adjacent subproblems based on the decomposition of MOVRPTW. Second,a transfer reproduction (TFR) mechanism is designed to generate offspring for each formulation via transferring promising solutions from other formulations,making that the useful traits captured from different formulations can be shared and leveraged to guide the evolutionary search. Third,an adaptive local search (ALS) strategy is developed to invest search effort on different alternate formulations as per their usefulness for MOVRPTW,thus facilitating the efficient allocation of computational resources. Experimental studies have demonstrated the superior performance of MMFEA/D on the classical Solomon instances and the real-world instances.

Sodium Nitrate/Formamide Deep Eutectic Solvent as Flame-Retardant and Anticorrosive Electrolyte Enabling 2.6 V Safe Supercapacitors with Long Cyclic Stability

Safe operation of electrochemical capacitors(supercapacitors)is hindered by the flammability of commercial organic ***-flammable Water-in-Salt(WIS)electrolytes are promising alternatives;however,they are plagued by the limited operation voltage window(typically≤2.3 V)and inherent corrosion of current ***,a novel deep eutectic solvent(DES)-based electrolyte which uses formamide(FMD)as hydrogen-bond donor and sodium nitrate(NaNO_(3))as hydrogen-bond acceptor is *** electrolyte exhibits the wide electrochemical stability window(3.14 V),high electrical conductivity(14.01 mScm^(-1)),good flame-retardance,anticorrosive property,and ultralow cost(7%of the commercial electrolyte and 2%of WIS).Raman spectroscopy and Density Functional Theory calculations reveal that the hydrogen bonds between the FMD molecules and NO_(3)^(-)ions are primarily responsible for the superior stability and *** developed NaNO_(3)/FMD-based coin cell supercapacitor is among the best-performing state-of-art DES and WIS devices,evidenced by the high voltage window(2.6 V),outstanding energy and power densities(22.77 Wh kg^(-1)at 630 W kg^(-1)and 17.37 kW kg^(-1)at 12.55 Wh kg^(-1)),ultralong cyclic stability(86%after 30000 cycles),and negligible current collector *** NaNO_(3)/FMD industry adoption potential is demonstrated by fabricating 100 F pouch cell supercapacitors using commercial aluminum current collectors.

Synergistic effect of homojunction and Ohmic junctions in CdS boosting spatial charge separation for U(VI)photoreduction

Photo-excited holes usually migrate to the surface of the catalyst and rapidly recombine with electrons,reducing the photocatalytic reduction efficiency of uranium(VI)(U(VI))in radioactive ***,we employed a straightforward synthesis technique to meticulously shape and manipulate the morphology of CdS to precisely construct CdS-Ni dandelion-like composites with different aspect ***,the introduction of crystal facet homojunction with Ohmic contacts in this unique morphology siqnificantly improves the photocatalytic ***-dependent photoluminescence spectroscopy(TD-PL)verifies that the composite material positively effects on the dissociation of *** 30 min,CdS(002)/(102)/Ni-4 removed 98% of the uranium content in solution and showed a rather high apparent rate constant(0.114 min^(−1)),which was 4.8 times higher than that of CdS nanospheres(NSs)(0.024 min^(−1))and 3.7 times higher than that of CdS nanorods(NRs)(0.031 min^(−1)).This is much higher the most reported photocatalysts for U(VI)*** after 5 consecutive cycles,the photocatalytic efficiency only decreased by 7%.This offers a fresh perspective on constructing a new perspective for building a green,efficient,and multi mechanism collaborative catalytic system to remediate environmental pollution.
