300 MPa grade highly ductile biodegradable Zn-2Cu-(0.2-0.8)Li alloys with novel ternary phases

Although a few high-strength biodegradable Zn alloys with yield strengths(YSs)over 300 MPa in rolled state have been developed,their elongations(ELs)are generally less than 30%.This study developed rolled Zn-2Cu-x Li(x=0.2 wt.%,0.5 wt.%,0.8 wt.%)alloys with YSs of 316-335 MPa and ELs of 44%-61%.Three-dimensional atom probe(3DAP)and time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry(TOF-SIMS)were employed to characterize Li *** kinds of Zn-Cu-Li ternary phases are identified,which are blockyε′-(Cu_(0.5),Li_(0.5))Zn 4,blockyβ′-(Li_(0.9),Cu_(0.1))Zn 4,and small roundγparticles with high Li content in the annealed *** identified phases are Zn,β-LiZn 4,andε-CuZn 4 *** the increase of Li content in the alloys,ε′phase with 6.50 at.%Cu transforms intoβ′phase with 2.12 at.%Cu,i.e.,the average level in the ***ε′phase,there exist nano-scale Li clusters andεphase,resulting inε′/ε*** Zn laths precipitate fromβ′phase,resulting inβ′/Zn lamellar *** lamel-lar structure is the matrix of Zn-2Cu-0.8Li and leads to near-isotropic *** tests show that degradation rates fall in the range of 153-196μm/year,which decrease with Li *** the alloys exert positive effects on the growth of MC3T3-E1 cells with 10%*** research reveals how microstructure evolves in Zn-2Cu-x Li alloys,which lays the foundation for their future applications.

The coronavirus disease 2019（COVID-19） outbreak caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2（SARS-CoV-2） developed into a global health emergency. Systemic microthrombus caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection is a common complication in patients with COVID-19. Cardiac microthrombosis as a complication of SARS-CoV-2 infection is the primary cause of cardiac injury and death in patietns with severe COVID-19. In this study, we performed single-cell sequencing analysis of the right ventricular free wall tissue from healthy donors,patients who died during the hypercoagulable period of characteristic coagulation abnormality（CAC）, and patients who died during the fibrinolytic period of CAC. We collected 61,187 cells enriched in 24 immune cell subsets and 13 cardiac-resident cell subsets. We found that in the course of SARS-CoV-2 infected heart microthrombus, MYO1EhighRASGEF1Bhighmonocyte-derived macrophages promoted hyperactivation of the immune system and initiated the extrinsic coagulation pathway by activating chemokines CCL3, CCL5. This series of events is the main cause of cardiac microthrombi following SARS-CoV-2 infection. In a SARS-CoV-2 infected heart microthrombus, excessive immune activation is accompanied by an increase in cellular iron content, which in turn promotes oxidative stress and intensifies intercellular competition. This induces cells to alter their metabolic environment, resulting in increased sugar uptake via the glycosaminoglycan synthesis pathway. In addition, high levels of reactive oxygen species generated by elevated iron levels promote increased endogenous malondialdehyde synthesis in a subpopulation of cardiac endothelial cells. This exacerbates endothelial cell dysfunction and exacerbates the coagulopathy process.

Simulation of α-Al grain formation in high vacuum die-casting Al-Si-Mg alloys with multi-component quantitative cellular automaton method

Al-Si-Mg alloys are the most commonly used material in high vacuum die-casting(HVDC),in which the morphology and distribution ofα-Al grains have important effect on mechanical properties.A multi-component quantitative cellular automaton(CA)model was developed to simulate the microstructure and microsegregation of HVDC Al-Si-Mg alloys with different Si contents(7%and 10%)and cooling rates during *** grain number and average grain size with electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)analysis were used to verify the *** relationship between grain size and nucleation order as well as nuclei density was investigated and *** is found that the growth of grains will be restrained in the location with higher nuclei *** influence of composition and cooling rate on the solute transport reveals that for AlSi7Mg0.3 alloy the concentration of solute Mg in liquid is higher at the beginning of eutectic *** comparison between simulation and experiment results shows that externally solidified crystals(ESCs)have a significant effect for samples with high cooling rate and narrow solidification interval.

PRLs Promote Spreading, Adhesion, and Proliferation of Human SW480 and SW620 Cells

Recent studies suggest that PRL-3 is involved in the metastasis of colorectal cancer, but the mechanism concerning that has not been well defined. This article expresses PRL-1, PRL-2, and PRL-3 and the catalytically inactive mutant forms of those enzymes in SW620 and SW480 cells, two human cell lines derived from non-metastatic cancer and metastatic colorectal cancer, respectively. While the expression of the native forms of PRLs promotes the spreading, adhesion, and proliferation of these cells, the expression of their mutant forms inhibits the earlier-mentioned processes. These data thus provide a cellular mechanism for the role of PRL-3 in tumor metastasis and suggest that all the three PRLs have similar functions.

A new species of the gudgeon genus Huigobio Fang,1938(Cypriniformes:Cyprinidae)from the Yangtze River Basin,southern China

During revision of the genus Microphysogobio Mori,1934,we discovered a new species of Huigobio from the Yangtze River Basin in *** new species,named Huigobio heterocheilus ***.,can be distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following characters:medial pad on lower lip not visible;ventral region scaleless before pelvic-fin insertion;lateral-line scales 39-40;caudal peduncle depth 49.2%-59.1%of length;barbel length 6.6%-10.7%of head length;black blotch between anterior margin of eye and upper *** the K2P model and cytochrome b(cyt b)sequences,interspecific genetic distances between the new species and Huigobio exilicauda Jiang&Zhang,2013 and Huigobio chenhsienensis Fang,1938 were 13.2%and 15.1%,*** new species is known from the upper reaches of the Xiangjiang River in the middle Yangtze River Basin.A diagnostic key for species of Huigobio Fang,1938 is provided.

Cooking grease particles purification review and technology combination strategy evaluation for commercial kitchens

Effective emission control of cooking oil fumes(COFs),particularly for grease particles,has always been a cause of great concern for catering *** review and evaluation of combinations of purification technology are urgently *** work presents a literature review and combination strategy evaluation of purification technology of grease particles of commercial kitchens.A variety of mainstream purification technologies,such as mechanical separation(M),filtration(F),washing absorption(W)and electrostatic deposition(E)are *** order to establish a complete and efficient fume purification system for commercial kitchen,this study proposes the four-point principles of combined purification technologies as:(1)from easy to difficult(for grease particle diameter);(2)fire prevention and noise reduction;(3)electrostatic deposition postposition;(4)Absorption and dissolution(by-product from electrostatic).Based on the above principles and separation characteristics,the recommended combinations of purification strategies are M-E,F-E,M-F-E and *** combination strategy of M-F-E is adopted as an example to evaluate and optimize COFs purification system use life cycle assessment *** results indicate that the optimization of the M-F-E purification system using rotating mesh plate instead of baffle filter can reduce the environmental impact of global warming and eutrophication by about 35%which reduces the emissions of CO_(2)and SO_(2)from 92.533 kg and 0.110 kg to 60.214 kg and 0.072 kg,*** the review of relevant purification technologies,the study also proposes the combination of principles of purification technologies and the evaluation and optimization of life cycle assessment for the optimal design of combined purification system.

Vegetation recovery trends under dual dominance of climate change and anthropogenic factors in the severely damaged areas of the Wenchuan earthquake

The occurrence of the Wenchuan earthquake caused the degradation of regional ecosystems,including vegetation ***,the post-seismic vegetation recovery and its driving forces on the spatial-temporal scale are still vague,especially in the severely damaged areas(including Wenchuan,Beichuan,Mianzhu,Shifang,Qingchuan,Maoxian,Anzhou,Dujiangyan,Pingwu and Pengzhou).Here,we detected vegetation recovery in the severely damaged areas by using Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition(EEMD)to analyze the time series characteristics of the Enhanced Vegetation Index(EVI),and explored the driving effects of climate,land use types,nighttime light,water system,slope,and clay content on vegetation recovery based on Geographically and Temporally Weighted Regression(GTWR)*** results indicated that the post-seismic vegetation recovery rate increased rapidly(acceleration>0)but slowed down after *** the areas of best vegetation recovery(EVI increments>0.1)were distributed in the north of the study area,the Minjiang River Basin,and front fault and central fault of the Longmenshan Fault *** the areas with the worst vegetation recovery(EVI increments0),but the impacts weakened after the earthquake,possibly due to the increase of secondary disasters induced by precipitation and the rise in maximum *** impact of cultivated land on vegetation recovery was mostly positive(regression coefficients>0),which may be related to the implementation of the Grain for Green *** nighttime light inhibited vegetation recovery(regression coefficients<0),which could be closely associated with *** results indicated that more attention should be paid to the nonlinear variatio

Liquid spreading on a pre-wetted biomimetic surface inspired by a dog's tongue

Liquid film flow widely exists in industries due to its high thermal film is strongly influenced by the properties of the working surface efficiency and low flow flux. The spreading of the liquid A biomimetic surface with multi-scale structures inspired by the skin of a dog＇s tongue is proposed in this paper for the enhancement of heat and mass transfer. The spreading and flow behaviors of a gravity-driven liquid falling down the pre-wetted biomimetic surface are compared with that on the smooth sur- faces, via the combination of numerical simulations using the volume of fluid （VOF） method, and experimental measurements using high-speed imaging. On the pre-wetted smooth substrate, liquid merges with two droplets before the free surface of the liquid slowly develops into a parabolic shape. In contrast, on the biomimetic surface, liquid rapidly and uniformly spreads into a thin film which could effectively enhance mass transfer in both spanwise and streamwise directions. The characteristics and distribution of the microstructures on the proposed biomimetic surface are potentially to be used to guide the design of the surface in high efficiency heat exchangers and reactors.

Bending Stiffness of Concrete-Filled Steel Tube and Its Influence on Concrete Placement Timing of Composite Beam-String Structure

When the upper chord beam of the beam-string structure(BSS)is made of concrete-filled steel tube(CFST),its overall stiffness will change greatly with the construction of concrete placement,which will have an impact on the design of the tensioning plans and selection of control measures for the *** order to accurately obtain the bending stiffness of CFST beam and clarify its impact on the mechanical properties of composite BSS during construction,the influence of some factors such as height-width ratio,wall thickness of steel tube,elasticity modulus of concrete,and friction coefficient on the bending stiffness are analyzed parametrically by the numerical simulation technology based on an actual *** calculation formula of the equivalent bending stiffness of CFST is also established through mathematical statistical ***,the equivalent bending stiffness is introduced into the construction and use stages of the composite BSS,respectively,and the mechanical properties such as prestress-tensioning control value,structural deformation,and internal force of key members are comparatively analyzed when adopting two different construction ***,the optimal construction plan of concrete placement first and then prestress-tensioning is proposed.

The thermochromic mechanism and the structure-property regulation principle of reversible thermochromic polydiacetylene(PDA)materials have always been a challenging *** this work,a series of diacetylene monomers(m-PCDA)containing phenyl and amide or carboxyl groups were synthesized from 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid(PCDA)through the esterification or amidation *** effects of the number and the distribution of the functional groups in m-PCDA molecules on their solid-state polymerization capability,and the thermochromic mechanism of their corresponding polymers(m-PDA)were investigated and discussed in *** results show that the m-PCDA monomers containing both benzene ring and groups that can form hydrogen bonding interactions have strong intermolecular interaction,and are easy to carry out the solid phase polymerization under 254-nm UV irradiation to obtain the corresponding new thermochromic m-PDA *** thermochromic behavior of m-PDA depends on its melting *** initial color-change temperature(blue to red)is determined by the onset melting tem perature,and the temperature range in which reversible color recovery can be achieved by repeat heating-cooling treatment is determined by its melting *** to the proposed thermochromic mechanism of PDA,various new PDA materials with precise thermochromic temperatu res and reversible thermochromic temperature ra nges can be designed and synthesized through the appropriate introduction of benzene ring and groups that can form hydrogen bonding interactions into the molecular structure of linear diacetylene *** work provides a perspective to the precise molecular structure design and the property regulation of the reversible thermochromic PDA materials.
