Energy recovery from low-strength wastewater through anaerobic methanogenesis is constrained by limited substrate *** development of efficient methanogenic communities is critical but *** we develop a strategy to acclimate methanogenic communities using conductive carrier(CC),electrical stress(ES),and Acid Orange 7(AO7)in a modified *** synergistic integration of CC,ES,and AO7 precipitated a remarkable 72-fold surge in methane production rate compared to the *** increase was attributed to an altered methanogenic community function,independent of the continuous presence of AO7 and ***7 acted as an external electron acceptor,accelerating acetogenesis from fermentation intermediates,restructuring the bacterial community,and enriching electroactive bacteria(EAB).Meanwhile,CC and ES orchestrated the assembly of the archaeal community and promoted electrotrophic methanogens,enhancing acetotrophic methanogenesis electron flow via a mechanism distinct from direct electrochemical *** collective application of CC,ES,and AO7 effectively mitigated electron flow impediments in low-strength wastewater methanogenesis,achieving an additional 34%electron recovery from the *** study proposes a new method of amending anaerobic digestion systems with conductive materials to advance wastewater treatment,sustainability,and energy self-sufficiency.

Because of the complexity and difficulty of realizing a multi-wavelength soliton state,reports on its internal dynamic characteristics are *** this study,the switching and periodic soliton explosion processes of the multi-wavelength soliton state in a negative dispersion passively mode-locked fiber laser are *** generation of the multi-wavelength soliton state undergoes the process of noise,oscillation,and stable mode-locking,and the splitting and annihilation of solitons with different group velocities directly impact the generation and disappearance of three *** and negative dispersion lead to different group velocities of *** presence and displacement of solitons with different group velocities cause soliton collisions,which lead to soliton explosions.A soliton experiences relative phase oscillation,chaos,and oscillation,as well as convergence and separation before and after an *** an increase in parameters related to pump power,single-soliton oscillation,multi-wavelength solitons,and chaos are found in experiments and simulations,proving the relevance and reliability between simulation and experimental *** work promotes the dynamical study of multi-soliton collisions in nonlinear science and the development of chaos theory in multi-comb lasers.

SNR-adaptive deep joint source-channel coding scheme for image semantic transmission with convolutional block attention module

With the development of deep learning(DL),joint source-channel coding(JSCC)solutions for end-to-end transmission have gained a lot of *** deep JSCC schemes support dynamically adjusting the rate according to different channel conditions during transmission,enhancing robustness in dynamic wireless ***,most of the existing adaptive JSCC schemes only consider different channel conditions,ignoring the different feature importance in the image processing and *** uniform compression of different features in the image may result in the compromise of critical image details,particularly in low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)*** address the above issues,in this paper,a dual attention mechanism is introduced and an SNR-adaptive deep JSCC mechanism with a convolutional block attention module(CBAM)is proposed,in which matrix operations are applied to features in spatial and channel dimensions *** proposed solution concatenates the pooling feature with the SNR level and passes it sequentially through the channel attention network and spatial attention network to obtain the importance evaluation *** show that the proposed solution outperforms other baseline schemes in terms of peak SNR(PSNR)and structural similarity(SSIM),particularly in low SNR scenarios or when dealing with complex image content.

Carrying Capacity and Coupling Coordination of Water and Land Resources Systems in Arid and Semi-arid Areas: A Case Study of Yulin City, China

Quantitatively assessing the carrying capacity of water and land resources systems in arid and semi-arid areas is crucial for achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development *** this work,taking Yulin City in China as a case study and employing the Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation(CRITIC)method,a modified model of coupling degree was developed to evaluate the car-rying capacity of water and land resources systems endowment and utilization,as well as their coupling coordination degree from 201. to *** findings indicate that the water and land resources of Yulin are diminishing due to declines in agriculture,higher industrial water use,and wetland ***,reallocating domestic water for ecological sustainability and reducing sloping farmland can mitigate this trend of ***,as the coupling coordination between water and land resources system endowment in Yulin continuously improved,the coupling coordination between water and land resources system utilization first decreased and then in-creased with 201. as the turning ***,the carrying capacity of water and land resources systems,the coupling coordination degree between water and land resources system endowment,and the coupling coordination degree between water and land resources system utilization in Yulin exhibited the same pattern of being higher in the six northern counties than in the six southern *** the water resources endowment is vital for the highly efficient use of water and land resources.

Cosmological Constraints on Neutrino Masses in Light of JWST Red and Massive Candidate Galaxies

The overabundance of the red and massive candidate galaxies observed by the James Webb Space Telescope(JWST)implies efficient structure formation or large star formation efficiency at high redshift z~*** the scenario of a low or moderate star formation efficiency,because massive neutrinos tend to suppress the growth of structure of the universe,the JWST observation tightens the upper bound of the neutrino *** A cold dark matter cosmology and a star formation efficiency∈[0.05,0.3](flat prior),we perform joint analyses of Planck+JWST and Planck+BAO+JWST,and obtain improved constraints∑m_(ν)1.6 eV and ∑m_(ν)+1.1.eV at 95% confidence level,*** on the above assumptions,the inverted mass ordering,which implies ∑m_(ν)≥0.1.eV,is excluded by Planck+BAO+JWST at 92.7% confidence level.

Tracking algorithm of Siamese network based on parallel multiple appearance features

Target tracking usually only uses the appearance information of the first frame of the video to obtain the appearance characteristics of the target online, and predict the position and size of the target in subsequent frames. However, the appearance of the target changes all the time during the tracking process, and the appearance of subsequent targets is not be accurately described by the first frame alone. Focusing on the above problems, this paper proposes a Siamese network target tracking algorithm based on parallel multi-appearance features. First, dynamic template frames containing information about the recent appearance of the target are introduced. At the same time, three methods of multi-appearance, parallel appearance and parallel multi-appearance are proposed, which make dynamic template frames for target tracking. Second, either the evaluation strategy of information entropy or the evaluation method of the neural network in the evaluation module is applied to score the obtained multiple predictions separately, and the prediction result with the highest score is selected as the final prediction result. Finally, an update module is proposed to analyse the scores obtained from the evaluation module. If the score meets the update conditions set by the update module, the final prediction result is used to update the dynamic template frame, and the new appearance information is used to guide the tracking of the next frame. The experimental results show that the algorithm achieves good results on standard datasets such as GOT-1.k, OTB1.0, which verif the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2024 Northeast University. Development of 400-μW cryogen-free dilution refrigerators for quantum experiments

We have successfully developed cryogen-free dilution refrigerators with medium cooling power that can be applied to quantum experiments. Breakthroughs have been made in some key technologies and components of heat switches and dilution units. Our prototype has been running continuously and stably for more than 1.0 hours below 1. m K, with a minimum temperature of 7.6 m K and a cooling power of 450 μW at 1.0 m K. At the same time, we have also made progress in the application of dilution refrigerators, such as quantum computing, low-temperature detector, and magnet integration. These indicators and test results indicate good prospects for application in physics, astronomy, and quantum information.

Comparison of biliary protein spectrum in gallstone patients with obesity and those with normal body weight

Background: Obesity is a common public health issue and is currently deemed a disease. Research has shown that the risk of gallstones in individuals with obesity is elevated. This study aimed to explore the bile proteomics differences between cholelithiasis patients with obesity and normal body weight. Methods: Bile samples from 20 patients(1. with obesity and 1. with normal body weight) who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy at our center were subjected to tandem mass tag labeling(TMT) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS), followed by further bioinformatic analysis. Results: Among the differentially expressed proteins, 23 were upregulated and 67 were downregulated. Bioinformatic analysis indicated that these differentially expressed proteins were mainly involved in cell development, inflammatory responses, glycerolipid metabolic processes, and protein activation cascades. In addition, the activity of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR, a subfamily of nuclear receptors) signaling pathway was decreased in the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) enrichment analysis. Two downregulated proteins in the PPAR signaling pathway, APO A-Ⅰ and APO A-Ⅱ, were confirmed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Conclusions: The PPAR signaling pathway may play a crucial role in the development of cholelithiasis among patients with obesity. Furthermore, biliary proteomics profiling of gallstones patients with obesity is revealed, providing a reference for future research.
