Vaccines have been the primary remedy in the global fight against coronavirus disease 2019（COVID-19）.The receptor-binding domain（RBD） of the spike protein, a critical viral immunogen, is affected by the heterogeneity of its glycan structures and relatively low immunogenicity. Here, we describe a scalable synthetic platform that enables the precise synthesis of homogeneously glycosylated RBD, facilitating the elucidation of carbohydrate structure–function relationships. Five homogeneously glycosylated RBDs bearing biantennary glycans were prepared, three of which were conjugated to T-helper epitope(Tpep) from tetanus toxoid to improve their weak immune response. Relative to natural HEK293-derived RBD, synthetic RBDs with biantennary N-glycan elicited a higher level of neutralising antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 in mice. Furthermore, RBDs containing Tpepelicited significant immune responses in transgenic mice expressing human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2. Our collective data suggest that trimming the N-glycans and Tpepconjugation of RBD could potentially serve as an effective strategy for developing subunit vaccines providing efficient protection.

Developing wide-temperature and high-safety lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)presents significant challenges attributed to the absence of suitable solvents possessing broad liquid range and non-flammability properties.γ-Butyrolactone(GBL)has emerged as a promising solvent;however,its incompatibility with graphite anode has hindered its *** limitation necessitates a comprehensive investigation into the underlying mechanisms and potential *** this study,we achieve a molecular-level understanding of the perplexing interphase formation process by employing in-situ spectroelectrochemical techniques and density function *** findings reveal that,even at high salt concentrations,GBL consistently occupies the primary Li^(+)solvation sheath,leading to extensive GBL decomposition and the formation of a high-impedance and inorganic-poor solid-electrolyte interphase(SEI)*** to manipulating solvation structures,our research demonstrates that the utilization of filmforming additives with higher reduction potential facilitates the pre-establishment of a robust SEI film on the graphite *** approach effectively inhibits GBL decomposition and significantly enhances the battery's *** study provides the first reported intrinsic understanding of the unique GBLgraphite incompatibility and offers valuable insights for the development of wide-temperature and high-safety LIBs.

Preparation, Crystallization and Mechanical Properties of Potassium Aluminosilicate Glass-ceramics

In this study,transparent K_(2)O-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)(KAS)glass-ceramics with leucite as the main crystalline phase were prepared by melting-quench method and two-step heat *** effects of SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) ratio and heat treatment on crystallization and mechanical properties were *** crystallization kinetics and X-Ray Diffraction(XRD)results showed that SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) ratio and heat treatment system had a direct impact on the crystallization behavior of potassium aluminosilicate *** heat-treated at 680℃/2 h and 780℃/1 h,cracks generated on the surface of the sample with the addition of SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)=4.8(in mol)due to the huge difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion between glass matrix and *** the addition of SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)(in mol)was 4,the sample with leucite as the main crystalline phase showed an excellent fracture toughness(1.46 MPa·m^(0.5))after the heat treatment of 680℃/2 h and 780℃/5 *** there was a phase transformation from kaliophilite to *** crystalline phases of the sample heat-treated at 680℃/8 h and 780℃/1 h were leucite and kaliophilite,which resulted in the visible light transmittance of 63%and the fracture toughness of 0.91 MPa·m^(0.5).Furthermore,after the heat treatment of 680℃/2 h and 780℃/5 h,the main crystalline phase of the sample with SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)=3.2(in mol)was still *** leucite only grows on the surface of the sample and is hard to grow inward,it is hard to achieve the bulk crystallization of leucite in the sample with SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)=3.2(in mol).

Sodium-sulfur(Na-S)and potassium-sulfur(K-S)batteries for use at room temperature have received widespread attention because of the abundance and low cost of their raw materials and their high energy ***,their development is restricted by the shuttling of polysulfides,large volume expansion and poor *** overcome these obstacles,an effective approach is to use carbon-based materials with abundant space for the sulfur that has sulfiphilic sites to immobilize it,and a high electrical *** carbon spheres(HCSs)with a controllable structure and composition are promising for this *** consider recent progress in optimizing the electrochemical performance of Na-/K-S batteries by using these ***,the advantages of HCSs,their synthesis methods,and strategies for preparing HCSs/sulfur composite materials are ***,the use of HCSs in Na-/K-S batteries,along with mechanisms underlying the resulting performance improvement,are ***,prospects for the further development of HCSs for metal−S batteries are presented.

Compression Properties and Energy Absorption of A Novel Double Curved Beam Negative Stiffness Honeycomb Structures

This paper presents the design of a novel honeycomb structure with a double curved beam. The purpose of this design is to achieve vibration isolation for the main engine of an offshore platform and reduce impact loads. An analytical formula for the force-displacement relationship of the honeycomb single-cell structure is presented based on the modal superposition method. This formula provides a theoretical basis for predicting the compression performance of honeycomb structures. The effects of structural geometric parameters, series and parallel connection methods on the mechanical and energy absorption properties are investigated through mathematical modeling and experimental methods. Furthermore, the study focuses on the vibration isolation and impact resistance performance of honeycomb panels. The results show that the designed honeycomb structure has good mechanical and energy absorption performance, and its energy absorption effect is related to the geometric parameters and series and parallel connection methods of the structure. The isolation efficiency of the honeycomb with 4 rows and 3 columns reaches 38%. The initial isolation frequency of the isolator is 11.7 Hz.

The southern Ordos Basin has excellent petroleum exploration ***,the tectono-thermal history and the controls on petroleum generation,accumulation and preservation conditions in southern basin are *** this study,we analyzed the present geothermal field,paleo-geothermal gradient,maturity of the hydrocarbon source rocks,uplift and cooling process and tectono-thermal evolution *** the study area,for the Ordovician,Permain and the Triassic strata,the present temperature is low(3070℃)in the southeastern area but high(80140℃)in the northwestern *** paleogeothermal gradient varied from 24℃/km to 30℃/km with a heat flow of 58—69 m W/m^(2)(i.e.,a medium-temperature basin).The paleo-temperatures are higher than the present temperatures and the maximum paleo-temperatures controlled the thermal maturity of the source *** vitrinite reflectance(Ro)values of the Triassic strata are>0.7%and the thermal maturity reached the middlemature oil generation *** Rovalues of the Permian-Ordovician strata are>1.8%and the thermal maturity reached the over-mature gas generation *** southern Ordos Basin has experienced the multiple tectonic events at the Late Ordovician Caledonian(452 Ma),Late Triassic(215 Ma),Late Jurassic(165160 Ma),End-Early Cretaceous(110100 Ma)and Cenozoic(since 40 Ma).A large-scale tectonothermal event occurred at the End-Early Cretaceous(110100 Ma),which was controlled by lithospheric extension,destruction and *** event led to the highest paleo-temperatures and thermal maturities and coeval with the peak period of petroleum generation and *** southern Ordos Basin has undergone rapid and large-scale uplift since the Late Cretaceous due to expansion of the northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau,uplift of the Qinling orogenic belt and thrust faulting in the Liupanshan tectonic *** southern Ordos Basin experienced tectonic overprinting that was strong in the south and weak in the *** str

The association between cigarette smoking and the gut microbiota remains unclear,and there is no agreement on how smoking affects the composition of gut *** this study,the relationship between smoking status and gut microbial composition was investigated by performing 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing anal-ysis of stool samples from 80 healthy Chinese *** results showed that smoking did not cause significant changes to the composition and microbial functional pathways of the gut ***,smoking altered the relative abundance of several specific taxa,where Phascolarctobacterium and Fusobacterium increased and Dialister ***,our analysis revealed that smoking introduced more microbial interactions to the interaction network and decreased its ***,this study provides new insights into the association between smoking status and the gut microbiota.

Coordination complex of a copper cyanurate(Cu(Ⅱ)-CA) was transformed into coordination polymers upon the stimulus of extra Cu(Ⅱ) through “directed Ostwald ripening”. By increasing the molar ratio of Cu(Ⅱ) to CA, we obtained two coordination polymers with selective coordination sites: Cu(Ⅱ)-κ N(HCA)κ NCu(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ)-κ N(HCA)κ O-Cu(Ⅱ), which display disparate magnetic interactions.

Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2)(HZO)ferroelectric thin films have gained significant attention for the development of next-generation ferroelectric memories by complementary-metal-oxide semiconductor(CMOS)back-end-of-line(BEOL)processing,due to their relatively low crystallization ***,it remains challenging to achieve excellent ferroelectric properties with post deposition annealing(PDA)process at a BEOL compatible *** these lines,in this work,it is demonstrated that the ferroelec-tricity of 15 nm thick HZO thin film prepared by PDA process at 400℃can be improved to varying degrees,via depositing 2 nm thick dielectric layers of Al_(2)O_(3),HfO_(2),or ZrO_(2)at either the bottom or the top of the ***,the HZO thin film with the top-Al_(2)O_(3)layer exhibits remarkable ferroelectric prop-erties,which are independent of the thickness of *** 6 nm thick HZO thin film shows a total remanent polarization(2Pr)of 31 mC/cm^(2)under an operating voltage of 2.5 *** results represent a significant advancement in the fabrication of high-performance,BEOL compatible ferroelectric mem-ories,as compared to previously reported state-of-the-art works.
