An Improved Method for Generating Typical Meteorological Years Used in Building Energy Simulation in China

The present study proposes an improved method for generating better typical meteorological years( TMYs) used in building energy simulation in China. Modifications are made to the commonly used Sandia method,by optimizing the weightings of indices and thus giving more emphasis to dry bulb temperature and relative humidity and less to wind velocity. After analyzing the solar heat gain on the vertical envelop,an index of diffuse radiation rather than direct normal radiation is added for solar radiation. Using the improved method proposed,TMYs for 5 representative cities of 5 major climate zones in China are generated from the meteorological data recorded during the period 1981—2010. The results show that,compared with previous studies,the monthly diffuse solar radiation of typical meteorological months generated by the improved method are the"closest"to the 30-year average,and the comparison between annual diffuse radiation for the TMY and the 30-year annual average is improved,while little adverse effect is produced on global horizontal radiation comparisons,indicating that the improved method is more suitable to generate the TMY data than previous studies.

Adsorption of Cu(Ⅱ) on humic acids derived from different organic materials

The adsorption of Cu（Ⅱ） from aqueous solution onto humic acid （HA） which was isolated from cattle manure （CHA）, peat （PHA）, and leaf litter （LHA） as a function of contact time, pH, ion strength, and initial concentration was studied using the batch method. X-ray absorption spectroscopy （XAS） was used to examine the coordination environment of the Cu（ll） adsorbed by HA at a molecular level. Moreover, the chemical compositions of the isolated HA were characterized by elemental analysis and solid-state 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy （NMR）. The kinetic data showed that the adsorption equilibrium can be achieved within 8 h. The adsorption kinetics followed the pseudo-second-order equation. The adsorption isotherms could be well fitted by the Langmuir model, and the maximum adsorption capacities of Cu（ll） on CHA, PHA, and LHA were 229.4,210.4, and 197.7 mg g-1, respectively. The adsorption of Cu（Ⅱ） on HA increased with the increase in pH from 2 to 7, and maintained a high level at pH〉7. The adsorption of Cu（Ⅱ） was also strongly influenced by the low ionic strength of 0.01 to 0.2 mol L-1 NaNO3, but was weakly influenced by high ionic strength of 0.4 to 1 mol L-1 NaNO3. The Cu（Ⅱ） adsorption on HA may be mainly attributed to ion exchange and surface complexation. XAS results revealed that the binding site and oxidation state of Cu adsorbed on HA surface did not change at the initial Cu（Ⅱ） concentrations of 15 to 40 mg L 1. For all the Cu（Ⅱ） adsorption samples, each Cu atom was surrounded by 40/N atoms at a bond distance of 1.95 A in the first coordination shell. The presence of the higher Cu coordination shells proved that Cu（Ⅱ） was adsorbed via an inner-sphere covalent bond onto the HA surface. Among the three HA samples, the adsorption capacity and affinity of CHA for Cu（Ⅱ） was the greatest, followed by that of PHA and LHA. Co_(3)O_(4) is considered as one of promising cathode catalysts for lithium oxygen(li-O_(2))batteries,which contains both tetrahedral Co^(2+)sites(Co^(2+)Td)and octahedral Co^(3+)sites(Co^(3+)Oh).It is important to reveal the effect of optimal geometric configuration and oxidation state of cobalt ion in Co_(3)O_(4) to improve the performance of li-O_(2) ***,through regulating the synthesis process,Co^(2+)and Co^(3+)sites in Co_(3)O_(4) were replaced with Zn and Al atoms to form materials with a unique Co *** li-O_(2) batteries based on ZnCo_(2)O_(4) showed longer cycle life than that of CoAl_(2)O_(4),suggesting that in Co_(3)O_(4),the Co^(3+)Oh site is a relatively better geometric configuration than Co^(2+)Td site for li-O_(2) *** calculations revealed that Co^(3+)Oh sites provide higher catalysis activity,regulating the adsorption energy of the intermediate liO_(2) and accelerating the kinetics of the reaction in batteries,which further leads to the change of the morphology of the discharge product and ultimately improves the electrochemical performance of the batteries.

We utilize molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the microstructures of ions and polyelectrolytes in aqueous solutions under external electric *** focusing on the multi-body interactions between ionic components and H_(2)O molecules,as well as their responses to the external electric fields,we clarify several nontrivial molecular features of the ionic and polyelectrolyte solutions,such as the solvations of cations and anions,clustering of the ions,and dispersions/aggregations of polyelectrolyte chains,as well as the corresponding responses of H_(2)O molecules in these *** simulations illustrate the variations in structures of ionic solutions caused by reversing the charge sign of the ions,and elucidate the disparity in structures between anionic and cationic polyelectrolyte solutions in the presence of the external electric *** work clarifies the mechanism for the alternations in complex multi-body interactions in aqueous solutions caused by the application electric field,which can contribute to the fundamental understanding of the physical and chemical natures of ion-containing and charged polymeric systems.

Coupling interface constructions of hollow Co-Mo mixed multiple oxidation states heterostructure for high-performance aprotic li-O_(2) battery

Constructing interfaces in heterostructures is effective for modulating the electronic properties of *** hollow CoMoO_(4)-Co_(3)O_(4) heterostructure(HCMCH)was prepared as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for li-O_(2) *** different components in CoMoO_(4)-Co_(3)O_(4) heterostructure presented the efficient coupling and enhanced the electrocatalytic activity for aprotic oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER),in which it improved the obviously reduced overpotential of 300 mV(compared with the pure Ketjen black(KB)electrode),enhanced reversibility of 80%capacity retention after 6 full cycles and the superior cyclability of more than 200 cycles with an optimized *** battery performance of the HCMCH was not only associated with the unique hollow structure and rich active sites but also with coupling interface constructions synergetic effects attaching to the improving conductivity and optimized the discharge *** results suggested that this HCMCH electrocatalyst was a promising candidate for the li-O_(2) battery and it gave a novel insight for high performance electrocatalyst designing.

Management of venous stenosis in living donor liver transplant recipients
