Given an additive category C and an integer n≥2.The higher differential additive category consists of objects X in C equipped with an endomorphism ϵ_(X)satisfying ϵ_(X)^(n).Let R be a,finite-dimensional basic algebra over an algebraically closed field and T the augmenting functor from the category of finitely generated left R-modules to that of finitely generated left R/(t^(n))-modules.It is proved that a finitely generated left R-module M isτ-rigid(respectively,(support)τ-tilting,almost completeτ-tilting)if and only if so is T(M)as a left R[t]/(t^(n))-module.Moreover,R isτm-selfinjective if and only if so is R[t]/(t^(n)).

A Game Theoretic Approach for a Minimal Secure Dominating Set

The secure dominating set(SDS),a variant of the dominating set,is an important combinatorial structure used in wireless networks.In this paper,we apply algorithmic game theory to study the minimum secure dominating set(Min SDS) problem in a multi-agent system.We design a game framework for SDS and show that every Nash equilibrium(NE) is a minimal SDS,which is also a Pareto-optimal solution.We prove that the proposed game is an exact potential game,and thus NE exists,and design a polynomial-time distributed local algorithm which converges to an NE in O(n) rounds of interactions.Extensive experiments are done to test the performance of our algorithm,and some interesting phenomena are witnessed.

Multi-stage Robust Scheduling for Community Microgrid with Energy Storage

Energy storage devices can effectively balance the uncertain load and significantly reduce electricity costs in the community microgrids(C-MGs) integrated with renewable energy sources. Scheduling of energy storage is a multi-stage decision problem in which the decisions must be guaranteed to be nonanticipative and multi-stage robust(all-scenario-feasible). To satisfy these two requirements, this paper proposes a method based on a necessary and sufficient feasibility condition of scheduling decisions under the polyhedral uncertainty set. Unlike the most popular affine decision rule(ADR) based multistage robust optimization(MSRO) method, the method proposed in this paper does not require the affine decision assumption, and the feasible regions(the set of all feasible solutions) are not reduced, nor is the solution quality affected. A simple illustrative example and real-scale scheduling cases demonstrate that the proposed method can find feasible solutions when the ADR-based MSRO fails, and that it finds better solutions when both methods succeed. Comprehensive case studies for a real system are performed and the results validate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)have favorable characteristics such as large specific surface area,high porosity,structural diversity,and pore surface modification,giving them great potential for development and attractive prospects in the research area of modern materials electrocatalysis.However,unsatisfactory catalytic activity and poor electronic conductivity are the main challenges facing MOFs.This review focuses on MOF-based materials used in electrocatalysis,based on the types of catalytic reactions that have used MOF-based materials in recent years along with their applications,and also looks at some new electrocatalytic materials and their future development prospects.

Vehicular Edge Computing(VEC)brings the computational resources in close proximity to the service requestors and thus supports explosive computing demands from smart vehicles.However,the limited computing capability of VEC cannot simultaneously respond to large amounts of offloading requests,thus restricting the performance of VEC system.Besides,a mass of traffic data can incur tremendous pressure on the front-haul links between vehicles and the edge server.To strengthen the performance of VEC,in this paper we propose to place services beforehand at the edge server,e.g.,by deploying the services/tasks-oriented data(e.g.,related libraries and databases)in advance at the network edge,instead of downloading them from the remote data center or offloading them from vehicles during the runtime.In this paper,we formulate the service placement problem in VEC to minimize the average response latency for all requested services along the slotted timeline.Specifically,the time slot spanned optimization problem is converted into per-slot optimization problems based on the Lyapunov optimization.Then a greedy heuristic is introduced to the drift-plus-penalty-based algorithm for seeking the approximate solution.The simulation results reveal its advantages over others in terms of optimal values and our strategy can satisfy the long-term energy constraint.

Paraquat(PQ)has been used as an herbicide worldwide because of its potent activity against weeds.However,it is highly toxic to humans.The very high fatality of PQ poisoning is due to its inherent toxicity and the lack of any effective treatment.Consequently,developing a non-toxic herbicide with comparable efficacy to PQ will contribute to global food security and help prevent PQ-related fatalities.Herein,we report a new herbicide called dienediamine,which was discovered from how to intervene the redox cycle of PQ,an inherent toxicity nature.Dienediamine,the“reduced"form of PQ with no function as an electron transfer agent,was shown to be non-toxic through comprehensive in vivo and in vitro experiments at molar concentrations equivalent to PQ's absolute lethal dose.Remarkably,dienediamine can undergo conversion to PQ under natural sunlight and ambient air conditions,exhibiting herbicidal activities that are comparable to those of PQ.The conversion of dienediamine to PQ,which is toxic to chloroplasts,is the key mechanism underlying its potent herbicidal activity.Our study discovers that dienediamine is a safe and superior alternative to PQ,possessing significant potential for application in sustainable agriculture globally.

Precise control of machining deformation is crucial for improving the manufacturing quality of structural aerospace components.In the machining process,different batches of blanks have different residual stress distributions,which pose a significant challenge to machining deformation control.In this study,a reinforcement learning method for machining deformation control based on a meta-invariant feature space was developed.The proposed method uses a reinforcement-learning model to dynamically control the machining process by monitoring the deformation force.Moreover,combined with a meta-invariant feature space,the proposed method learns the internal relationship of the deformation control approaches under different stress distributions to achieve the machining deformation control of different batches of blanks.Finally,the experimental results show that the proposed method achieves better deformation control than the two existing benchmarking methods.

Spatiotemporal evolution and driving factors for GHG emissions of aluminum industry in China

China’s aluminum(Al)production has released a huge amount of greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions.As one of the biggest country of primary Al production,China must mitigate its overall GHG emission from its Al industry so that the national carbon neutrality target can be achieved.Under such a background,the study described in this paper conducts a dynamic material flow analysis to reveal the spatiotemporal evolution features of Al flows in China from 2000 to 2020.Decomposition analysis is also performed to uncover the driving factors of GHG emission generated from the Al industry.The major findings include the fact that China’s primary Al production center has transferred to the western region;the primary Al smelting and carbon anode consumption are the most carbonintensive processes in the Al life cycle;the accumulative GHG emission from electricity accounts for 78.14% of the total GHG emission generated from the Al industry;China’s current Al recycling ratio is low although the corresponding GHG emission can be reduced by 93.73% if all the primary Al can be replaced by secondary Al;and the total GHG emission can be reduced by 88.58% if major primary Al manufacturing firms are transferred from Inner Mongolia to Yunnan.Based upon these findings and considering regional disparity,several policy implications are proposed,including promotion of secondary Al production,support of clean electricity penetration,and relocation of the Al industry.

Closed-Form Solution for a Circular Nanohole with Surface Effects Under Uniform Heat Flux

This paper investigates the steady-state thermoelastic problem of a circular nanohole embedded in an infinitely large elastic plane subjected to a uniform far-field heat flux.A lowly conductive surface model is used to account for the effects of surface phonon scattering,while the complete Gurtin–Murdoch model is utilized to characterize the effects of surface tension and surface elasticity.The closed-form solution to the temperature and stress field surrounding the hole is derived in the context of complex variable methods.Several numerical examples are presented to analyze the influence of surface effects on thermal stress fields.It is shown that surface effects induce notable increases in normal and shear stresses around the hole.Specifically,all three stress components(hoop,normal,and shear)in the vicinity of the hole exhibit substantial augmentation with increasing surface tension and surface modulus.In particular,it is found that the presence of surface effects amplifies the variation in stress gradients and intensifies stress concentration around the hole.
