Modelling and Temperature Control of Liquid Cooling Process for Lithium-Ion Battery

Efficient thermal management of lithium-ion battery,working under extremely rapid charging-discharging,is of widespread interest to avoid the battery degradation due to temperature rise,resulting in the enhanced ***,thermal management of lithium-ion battery has been performed via a liquid cooling theoretical model integrated with thermoelectric model of battery packs and single-phase heat *** to alleviate the battery temperature fluctuation by automatically manipulating the flow rate of working fluid,a nominal model-free controller,i.e.,fuzzy logic controller is *** optimized on-off controller based on pump speed optimization is introduced to serve as the comparative *** control simulations are conducted under regular operating and extreme operating conditions,and two controllers are applied to control battery temperature with proper intervals which is conducive to enhance the battery charge-discharge *** results indicate that,for any operating condition,the fuzzy logic controller shows excellence in terms of the tracking accuracy of set-point of battery *** to the establishment of fuzzy set and fuzzy behavioral rules,the battery temperature has been throughout maintained near the set point,and the temperature fluctuation amplitude is highly reduced,with better temperature control accuracy of~0.2℃(regular condition)and~0.5℃(extreme condition)compared with~1.1℃(regular condition)and~1.6℃(extreme condition)of optimized on-off *** in the case of extreme operating condition,the proposed optimized on-off controller manifests the hysteresis in temperature fluctuation,which is ascribed to the set of dead-band for the feedback *** simulation results cast new light on the utilization and development of model-free temperature controller for the thermal management of lithium-ion battery.

Effects of source facies and maturity on individual carbon isotopic compositions of oil

Carbon isotopes have been used extensively in tracing the sources of ***,primary source facies and secondary alteration controls on oil isotopic compositions have not been well resolved,resulting in application uncertainties.A case study was undertaken for an alkaline lacustrine oil system in a lower Permian formation in the Junggar Basin,NW *** indicate that increasing maturity causes the carbon isotopic composition to become heavier for only short–middle-chain compounds,whereas source facies-related carbon assimilation controls the compositions of short-,middle-,and long-chain *** particular,light-carbon assimilation during organic-matter degradation makes the isotopic composition lighter,whereas heavy carbon from the water mass makes it ***,oils in this study area were divided into Type U and Type N oils based on individual compound carbon isotopic compositions,reflecting the difference in source facies in a highly saline and reducing stratified water *** results provide a better understanding of the controls on carbon isotopes in oil in sedimentary basins,reducing the uncertainty in oil–source correlation and addressing the origin of oil.

Regulation of Ti(C,N)deposition on hot surface of refractory in blast furnace hearth

Ti(C,N)concentration was found to be lower on the hearth sidewall of a blast furnace and increased gradually toward the bottom of the blast *** Ti(C,N)protective layer in a blast furnace is ***,the formation of a Ti(C,N)protective layer was promoted by studying the heterogeneous nucleation principle of titanium compounds on different substances and regulation measures for the deposition process of titanium compounds on refractories or *** lattice disregistry between the titanium compounds and the main components in the refractory or the main impurities in the protective layer was calculated using a two-dimensional disregistry equation to study the heterogeneous nucleation principle of titanium *** results revealed that in refractory materials,the heterogeneous nucleation of carbonitride is weak when C,SiO_(2),and Al_(2)O_(3) are used as heterogeneous nucleation substrates,and the heterogeneous nucleation of carbonitride is strong when TiO_(2) and SiC are used as heterogeneous nucleation *** nucleation phases,TiC,TiN,Ti(C_(0.3),N_(0.7)),and Ti(C_(0.5),N_(0.5))have similar heterogeneous nucleation ability in single component refractory,and the type of carbonitride has little effect on the lattice *** impurities in the protective layer as the substrate phases are not conducive to the heterogeneous nucleation of *** CaS was used as the substrate phase,the heterogeneous nucleation ability of carbonitride was the *** carbon and alumina were not conducive to the heterogeneous nucleation of carbonitride,but carbon was more unfavourable than alumina.

Linking of Chemical Reactions and Silica Nanoparticle Contact Using Synthetic Helical Molecules

Biological cells exhibit diverse phenomena induced through linking of chemical reactions of molecules and solid surface *** is then a significant topic in the field of chemistry to study phenomena induced through this linking using synthetic systems,which can promote our understanding of biological phenomena and can be applied to the development of novel *** nanoparticles(sNPs),which are synthetic inorganic materials,are attractive for such purposes,because of their following characteristics:they can adsorb large amounts of molecules on their surfaces,they can aggregate through contact between SNPs as well as contact between molecules and SNPs,and the molecules can be easily removed from solutions by *** contact of sNP surfaces with molecules then affects chemical reactions of molecules and also behaviors of *** article describes systems derived from synthetic helical molecules and sNPs,which exhibit notable phenomena including selective adsorption and molecular recognition,equilibrium shift,step kinetics with induction period,precipitation with flow and sweeping,and disaggregation and desorption by sonication,in which the high affinity of helical molecules with sNP surfaces plays important *** models that explain the phenomena are *** applications are also discussed,including the separation of molecules,capture of intermediates,the storage and release of molecules,equilibrium shift,clocking,and the translation of mechanical stimulations into chemical reactions.

A dual-function selection system enables positive selection of multigene CRISPR mutants and negative selection of Cas9-free progeny in Arabidopsis

The CRISPR/Cas9 technology revolutionizes targeted gene knockout in diverse organisms including ***,screening edited alleles,particularly those with multiplex editing,from herbicide-or antibiotic-resistant transgenic plants and segregating out the Cas9 transgene represent two laborious *** solutions to facilitate these processes rely on different selection ***,by taking advantage of the opposite functions of a D-amino acid oxidase(DAO)in detoxifying D-serine and in metabolizing non-toxic D-valine to a cytotoxic product,we develop a DAO-based selection system that simultaneously enables the enrichment of multigene edited alleles and elimination of Cas9-containing progeny in Arabidopsis *** five DAOs tested in Escherichia coli,the one encoded by Trigonopsis variabilis(TvDAO)could confer slightly stronger D-serine resistance than other *** expression of TvDAO in Arabidopsis allowed a clear distinction between transgenic and nontransgenic plants in both D-serine-conditioned positive selection and D-valine-conditioned negative *** a proof of concept,we combined CRISPR-induced single-strand annealing repair of a dead TvDAO with D-serine-based positive selection to help identify transgenic plants with multiplex editing,where D-serine-resistant plants exhibited considerably higher co-editing frequencies at three endogenous target genes than those selected by ***,D-valine-based negative selection successfully removed Cas9 and TvDAO transgenes from the survival offspring carrying inherited ***,this work provides a novel strategy to ease CRISPR mutant identification and Cas9 transgene elimination using a single selection marker,which promises more efficient and simplified multiplex CRISPR editing in plants.

Microstructure-ionisation potential relationship analysis for understanding the molecular ionisation difference of natural esters during the impulse discharge via DFT calculation

Understanding the impulse discharge behaviour of natural ester(NE)is crucial for its safe application in high-voltage *** ionisation potential(IP)of triglycerides plays a significant role in the process of molecular ionisation during impulse discharge for *** correlation coefficients between molecular size,frontier orbital,electrostatic potential,polarity,and IP were *** the quantitative microstructure-IP model for triglycerides were built,which revealed that IP is strongly related to the highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO)energy EHM,as well as the average value of positive electrostatic potential V_(p)(t),the average value of negative electrostatic potential V_(p)(-),and the surface area of negative electrostatic potential S(-).The HOMO and negative electrostatic potentials of saturated triglycerides are predominantly linked to the carbonyl O ***,in unsaturated triglycerides,the influence of C=C double bonds on HOMO and negative electrostatic potentials is more ***,the IP of unsaturated NE with C=C bonds is lower than that of saturated NE,rendering it more susceptible to ionisation under a strong electric field which is unfavourable for impulse breakdown *** structure-property correlation analysis is valuable for understanding ionisation mechanism during the impulse discharge breakdown of NE at the microscopic level.

Improving fatigue properties of normal direction ultrasonic vibration assisted face grinding Inconel 718 by regulating machined surface integrity

Fatigue properties are crucial for critical aero-engine components in extreme serviceenvironments,which are significantly affected by surface integrity(SI)indexes(especially surface topography,residual stressσ_(res),and microhardness)after machining ***-direction ultrasonic vibration-assisted face grinding(ND-UVAFG)has advantages in improving the machinability of Inconel 718,but there is a competitive relationship between higher compressiveσ_(res)and higher surface roughness R_(a)in affecting fatigue *** lack of a quantitative relationship between multiple SI indexes and fatigue strength makes theindeterminacy of a regulatory strategy for improving fatigue *** this work,a model of fatigue strength(σ_f)_(sur)considering multiple SI indexes was ***,high-cycle fatigue tests were carried out on Inconel 718 samples with different SI characteristics,and the influence of ND-UVAFG process parameters on SI was *** on SI indexes data,the(σ_f)_(sur)distribution in the grinding surface layer for ND-UVAFG Inconel 718 samples was determined using the developed model,and then the fatigue crack initiation(FCI)sites were *** predicted FCI sites corresponded well with the experimental results,therebyverifying this model.A strategy for improving the fatigue life was proposed in this work,which was to transfer the fatigue source from the machined surface to the bulk material by controlling the SI ***,a critical condition of SI indexes that FCI sites appeared on the surface or in bulk material was given by fitting the predicted *** to the critical condition,an SI field where FCI sites appeared in the bulk material could be *** this field,thefatigue life of Inconel 718 samples could be improved by approximately 140%.

Lung ultrasound score evaluation of the effect of pressure-controlled ventilation volume-guaranteed on patients undergoing laparoscopicassisted radical gastrectomy

BACKGROUND Laparoscopic-assisted radical gastrectomy(LARG)is the standard treatment for early-stage gastric carcinoma(GC).However,the negative impact of this proce-dure on respiratory function requires the optimized intraoperative management of patients in terms of *** To investigate the influence of pressure-controlled ventilation volume-guaranteed(PCV-VG)and volume-controlled ventilation(VCV)on blood gas analysis and pulmonary ventilation in patients undergoing LARG for GC based on the lung ultrasound score(LUS).METHODS The study included 103 patients with GC undergoing LARG from May 2020 to May 2023,with 52 cases undergoing PCV-VG(research group)and 51 cases undergoing VCV(control group).LUS were recorded at the time of entering the operating room(T0),20 minutes after anesthesia with endotracheal intubation(T1),30 minutes after artificial pneumoperitoneum(PP)establishment(T2),and 15 minutes after endotracheal tube removal(T5).For blood gas analysis,arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO_(2))and partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO_(2))were *** airway pressure(P_(peak)),plateau pressure(Pplat),mean airway pressure(P_(mean)),and dynamic pulmonary compliance(C_(dyn))were recorded at T1 and T2,1 hour after PP establishment(T3),and at the end of the operation(T4).Postoperative pulmonary complications(PPCs)were ***-and postoperative serum interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** Compared with those at T0,the whole,anterior,lateral,posterior,upper,lower,left,and right lung LUS of the research group were significantly reduced at T1,T2,and T5;in the control group,the LUS of the whole and partial lung regions(posterior,lower,and right lung)decreased significantly at T2,while at T5,the LUS of the whole and some regions(lateral,lower,and left lung)increased *** comparison with the control group,the whole and regional LUS of the research group were reduc
