Diamond turning based on a fast tool servo(FTS)is widely used in freeform optics fabrication due to its high accuracy and machining *** a new trend,recently developed high-frequency and long-stroke FTS units are independently driven by a separate control system from the machine tool ***,the tool path generation strategy for the independently controlled FTS is far from *** study aims to establish methods for optimizing tool path for the independent control FTS to reduce form errors in a single step of *** from the conventional integrated FTS control system,where control points are distributed in a spiral pattern,in this study,the tool path for the independent FTS controller is generated by the ring method and the mesh method,*** machined surface profile is predicted by simulation and the parameters for the control point generation are optimized by minimizing the deviation between the predicted and the designed *** demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed tool path generation strategies,cutting tests of a two-dimensional sinewave and a micro-lens array were conducted and the results were *** a result,after tool path optimization,the peak-to-valley form error of the machined surface was reduced from 429 nm to 56 nm for the two-dimensional sinewave by using the ring method,and from 191 nm to 103 nm for the micro-lens array by using the mesh method,respectively.

Phantom bite syndrome(PBS),also called occlusal dysesthesia,is characterized by persistent non-verifiable occlusal *** erroneous and unshakable belief of a“wrong bite”might impel patients to visit multiple dental clinics to meet their requirements to their ***,it takes a toll on their quality of life causing,career disruption,financial loss and suicidal *** general,patients with PBS are quite rare but distinguishable if ever *** Marbach reported the first two cases in 1976,there have been dozens of published cases regarding this phenomenon,but only a few original studies were *** the lack of official classification and guidelines,many authors agreed on the existence of a PBS“consistent pattern”that clinicians should be made ***,the treatment approach has been solely based on incomplete knowledge of etiology,in which none of the proposed theories are fully explained in all the available *** this review,we have discussed the critical role of enhancing dental professionals’awareness of this phenomenon and suggested a comprehensive approach for PBS,provided by a multidisciplinary team of dentists,psychiatrists and exclusive psychotherapists.

Effect of Polysaccharide Species on Storage Stability of Alginate Capsules Containing <i>α</i>-Tocopherol

Alginate capsules containing α-tocopherol were prepared adding polysaccharide species such as κ-carrageenan, gellan gum, pectin, curdlan and ghatti gum. The effects of polysaccharide species and the diameters of α-tocopherol on storage stability of the capsules were investigated and characterized in detail. As the contact angle of α-tocopherol to the capsule shell strongly affected storage stability, the contact angle was measured on the model sheet made of calcium alginate with polysaccharide species. The leakage ratio decreased with the contact angle and increased with the diameter of α-tocopherol. The capsules made of calcium alginate with gellan gum showed the largest contact angle and the highest storage stability. The capsules made of calcium alginate with curdlan, ghatti gum and pectin were harder than other capsules and showed higher storage stability. All the capsules showed the almost similar swelling ratio in the acidic solution with pH 4, but showed the different swelling ratios according to the polysaccharide species in the alkali solution with pH 9. The tablets were prepared with the wet and the dried capsules. The tablets prepared with the dried capsules showed higher storage stability.

This study is to understand the impact of operating condition, especially initial operation temperature （Tini） which is set in high temperature range, on the temperature profile of the interface between PEM （polymer electrolyte membrane） and catalyst layer at the cathode （i.e., the reaction surface） in a single PEFC （polymer electrolyte fuel cell）. A 1D multi-plate heat transfer model based on the temperature data of separator measured using thermograph in a power generation experiment was developed to evaluate the reaction surface temperature （Treact）. This study investigated the effects of Tini, flow rate and relative humidity of supply gas as well as thickness of PEM on the temperature distribution on reaction surface. As a result, the impact of flow rate of supply gas on the temperature distribution is not significant irrespective of relative humidity conditions as well as PEM type. When operated at high temperature, the temperature distribution is relatively flat in the case of thicker PEM （Nafion 115）, while Treact rises from the inlet to the outlet large and the temperature distribution is wide in the case of thin PEM （Nafion 211） irrespective of relative humidity condition. Since the water transfer through PEM in the case of Nafion 211 is better than Nafion 115 due to thin PEM, the power generation is promoted along the gas flow with the aid of humidification by water produced from electrochemical reaction.

Fistula between digestive tract and airway is one of the complications after esophagectomy with lymph node dissection. A case of esophagotracheal fistula secondary to esophagitis 9 years after esophagectomy and gastric pull-up for treatment of esophageal carcinoma is described. It was successfully treated with transposition of a pedicled pectoralis major muscle flap.

Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell(PEFC)is desired to be operated at temperature around 90℃ for stationary applications during the period from 2020 to 2025 in *** can be expected thinner polymer electrolyte membrane(PEM)and gas diffusion layer(GDL)would promote the power generation performance of PEFC at this *** aim of this study is to understand the impact of thickness of PEM and GDL on the temperature profile of interface between PEM and catalyst layer at the cathode(i.e.,the reaction surface)in a single PEFC with an initial operation temperature(Tini).An 1D multi-plate heat transfer model based on temperature data of separator measured using thermograph in power generation process was developed to evaluate temperature of the reaction surface(Treact).This study investigated the effect of Tini,flow rate and relative humidity of supply gas on Treact *** study finds that when using thin GDL,the even distribution of Treact – Tini is obtained irrespective of thickness of PEM,Tini and relative humidity *** – Tini using Nafion 115 is higher than the other thin PEMs irrespective of Tini and relative humidity *** can be concluded that the even temperature distribution could be achieved by using thin PEM and GDL.

The aim of this investigation was to improve power performance of Savonius hydraulic turbine utilizing small stream for electric *** attempt was made to increase the power coefficient of runner by the use of flat shield plate placed upstream of the *** difference of the power coefficient is discussed in relation to clearance between the runner and the bottom wall and the rotation direction of the *** flow field around the runner was also examined visually to clarify influences of setting conditions on the power *** this study it was found that the power coefficient is achieved for 0.47 by only using a flat shield plate,the increase is up to 80% over the runner without the ***,it is the proper condition that clearance ratio is 0.73 in this study.

Control of Snow Falling Flow around NACA0015 Blade using a Plasma Electrode with Weather Resistant Design

The plasma actuation (PA) effect on the snow falling flow was investigated using a plasma electrode with weather resistant design and the natural snow wind facility of the Hokkaido University of Science. NACA0015 test blade with chord length c of 300 mm was used. Wind tunnel tests were carried out under the angle of the attack of the blade was fixed at 15 degrees, and the main flow velocity is U=5 m/s. PIV (Particle image velocimetry) measurements were conducted on various PA conditions using natural dry snowflakes as a tracer. When the actuator was driven under the condition of the fundamental frequency of F=50 kHz, and the pulsed modulated frequency f of fc/U=1 and Duty ratio (Ratio of plasma ON time to pulse duration time) =1%, movement of snowflakes was controlled the most effectively tested. It was clarified that the fundamental frequency of PA also affects the control of snow flow. Under snowfall conditions, the weather resistant designed plasma electrode has suffered no damage and operated successfully.

All-solid-state batteries(ASSBs)are a class of safer and higher-energy-density materials compared to conventional devices,from which solid-state electrolytes(SSEs)are their essential *** date,investigations to search for high ion-conducting solid-state electrolytes have attracted broad ***,obtaining SSEs with high ionic conductivity is challenging due to the complex structural information and the less-explored structure-performance *** provide a solution to these challenges,developing a database containing typical SSEs from available experimental reports would be a new avenue to understand the structureperformance relationships and find out new design guidelines for reasonable ***,a dynamic experimental database containing>600 materials was developed in a wide range of temperatures(132.40–1261.60 K),including mono-and divalent cations(e.g.,Li^(+),Na^(+),K^(+),Ag^(+),Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),and Zn^(2+))and various types of anions(e.g.,halide,hydride,sulfide,and oxide).Data-mining was conducted to explore the relationships among different variates(e.g.,transport ion,composition,activation energy,and conductivity).Overall,we expect that this database can provide essential guidelines for the design and development of high-performance SSEs in ASSB *** database is dynamically updated,which can be accessed via our open-source online system.
