Designing highly active and durable electrocatalysts towards oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)plays a paramount importance for proton exchange membrane fuel ***-based binary alloys Pt-M(M=3d-transition metals)possessing excellent electronic and geometric properties have received increasing interests as highly active ***,we report a series of Pt_(x)Co/C(x=1,2,3)catalysts by a facile one-pot soft-chemistry *** the acidic conditions,the mass activities of PtCo/C,Pt_(2)Co/C and Pt_(3)Co/C are 0.526,0.462 and 0.441 A·mgPt^(-1),which are 2.60,2.31 and 2.22 times higher than that of Pt/C(0.200 A·mgPt^(-1)),*** specific activities of PtCo/C,Pt_(2)Co/C and Pt_(3)Co/C are 706.59,679.41 and 801.83μA·cm^(-2),which are accordingly 2.89,2.76 and 3.28 times higher than that of Pt/C(244.75μA·cm^(-2)).Notably,Pt_(3)Co/C shows a remarkable *** 5000 cycles of the accelerated durability testing,the mass activity and specific activity of Pt_(3)Co/C catalyst are 2.47 and 3.80 times higher than that of the commercial Pt/C,*** improved ORR activity and durability can be ascribed to the synergistic interaction between Pt and Co.

In the Loess Plateau in Northern China,repeated freeze–thaw(FT)cycles deteriorate the strength and structure of loess as a foundation soil,resulting in the instability or failure of supporting *** is an eco–material,utilized as an effective and nontraditional stabilizer to improve the engineering properties of metastable soils.A series of laboratory tests,including unconfined compression tests,cyclic loading–unloading tests and scanning electron microscopy,on calcium lignosulfonate(CL)-and sodium lignosulfonate(SL)-stabilized loess were performed to investigate the stabilization effect,deterioration mechanisms of the FT cycles,and the resistance to FT *** traditional stabilizers,quicklime(QL)and sodium silicate(SS),were selected,and the engineering properties of QL-and SS-stabilized loess were compared with those of CL-and SLstabilized *** results showed that the strength values of CL-and SL-stabilized loess specimens decreased by 34.2%and 50%respectively,after 20 FT cycles,whereas those of the traditionally SS-and QL-stabilized specimens decreased by 85.3%and 82.87%,*** elastic moduli of SL-and QL-stabilized loess specimens decreased by 22.1%and 92.0%,*** mean energy dissipations of nontraditionally treated specimens also decreased significantly less than those of traditionally treated ***,the results showed CL and SL had better stabilization effects on engineering properties of loess than QL and SS,and their stabilized loess specimens exhibited stronger resistance to FT *** study findings demonstrated the significant potential of lignosulfonate for extensive application in cold loess areas.

Flexible strain sensor has promising features in successful application of health monitoring, electronic skins and smart robotics, ***, we report an ultrasensitive strain sensor with a novel crack-wrinkle structure(CWS) based on graphite nanoplates(GNPs)/thermoplastic urethane(TPU)/polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) nanocomposite. The CWS is constructed by pressing and dragging GNP layer on TPU substrate,followed by encapsulating with PDMS as a protective layer. On the basis of the area statistics, the ratio of the crack and wrinkle structures accounts for 31.8% and 9.5%, respectively. When the sensor is stretched, the cracks fracture, the wrinkles could reduce the unrecoverable destruction of cracks, resulting in an excellent recoverability and stability. Based on introduction of the designed CWS in the sensor, the hysteresis effect is limited effectively. The CWS sensor possesses a satisfactory sensitivity(GF=750 under 24% strain), an ultralow detectable limit(strain=0.1%) and a short respond time of 90 ms. For the sensing service behaviors, the CWS sensor exhibits an ultrahigh durability(high stability>2×10^(4) stretching-releasing cycles). The excellent practicality of CWS sensor is demonstrated through various human motion tests,including vigorous exercises of various joint bending, and subtle motions of phonation, facial movements and wrist pulse. The present CWS sensor shows great developing potential in the field of cost-effective, portable and high-performance electronic skins.

As an integrated application of advanced technologies such as information technology, system control technology, and artificial intelligence in the transportation field, the intelligent transportation system(ITS) has been regarded as an efficient and effective solution for alleviating transportation issues that are encountered in several countries around the world. In this paper, the development history of the ITS in China is presented, and the problems and challenges faced by the ITS in China in the new normal state are clearly laid out. Three new ITS development requirements in China are then identified, and six development trends and directions are *** the successful application of the above guidelines, next generation innovation and development of ITS is expected to be realized in China, promoting and supporting the trends of urbanization, motorization, and informationization, which are resulting in fundamental changes in the development of the Chinese society and economy.

AIM: To investigate whether the reduction of stem cell factor (SCF) is mediated by decreased endogenous insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-1 in diabetic rat colon smooth muscle. METHODS: Sixteen Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into two groups: control group and streptozotocin-induced diabetic group. After 8 wk of streptozotocin administration, colonic motility function and contractility of circular muscle strips were measured. The expression of endogenous IGF-1 and SCF was tested in colonic tissues. Colonic smooth muscle cells were cultured from normal adult rats. IGF-1 siRNA transfection was used to investigate whether SCF expression was affected by endogenous IGF-1 expression in smooth muscle cells, and IGF-1 induced SCF expression effects were studied. The effect of high glucose on the expression of endogenous IGF-1 and SCF was also investigated. RESULTS: Diabetic rats showed prolonged colonic transit time (252 ± 16 min vs 168 ± 9 min, P < 0.01) and weakness of circular muscle contraction (0.81 ± 0.09 g vs 2.48 ± 0.23 g, P < 0.01) compared with the control group. Endogenous IGF-1 and SCF protein expression was significantly reduced in the diabetic colonic muscle tissues. IGF-1 and SCF mRNA expression also showed a paralleled reduction in diabetic rats. In the IGF-1 siRNA transfected smooth muscle cells, SCF mRNA and protein expression was significantly decreased. IGF-1 could induce SCF expression in a concentration and time-dependent manner, mainly through the extracellular-signal-regulated kinase 1/2 signal pathway. High glucose inhibited endogenous IGF-1 and SCF expression and the addition of IGF-1 to the medium reversed the SCF expression. CONCLUSION: Myopathy may resolve in colonic motility dysfunction in diabetic rats. Deficiency of endogenous IGF-1 in colonic smooth muscle cells leads to reduction of SCF expression.

A novel SARS-related coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)has recently emerged as a serious pathogen that causes high morbidity and substantial ***,the mechanisms by which SARS-CoV-2 evades host immunity remain poorly ***,we identified SARS-CoV-2 membrane glycoprotein M as a negative regulator of the innate immune *** found that the M protein interacted with the central adaptor protein MAVS in the innate immune response *** interaction impaired MAVS aggregation and its recruitment of downstream TRAF3,TBK1,and IRF3,leading to attenuation of the innate antiviral *** findings reveal a mechanism by which SARS-CoV-2 evades the innate immune response and suggest that the M protein of SARSCoV-2 is a potential target for the development of SARS-CoV-2 interventions.

In water distribution systems,water leakage from cracked water pipes is a major concern for water ***,the relationship between the leakage rate and the water pressure can be modeled by a power function developed from the orifice *** paper presents an approximate solution for the computation of the steady-state leakage rate through a longitudinal line crack of a water distribution pipe considering the surrounding soil *** derived solution agrees well with results of numerical *** with the traditional models,the new solution allows assessment of all the parameters that related with leakage including the pressure head inside the pipe,hydraulic conductivity,crack size and its position,and pipe size and its depth.

Phototherapies including photodynamic therapy(PDT)and photothermal therapy(PTT)are the most promising and non-invasive cancer ***,the efficacy of mono-therapy of PDT or PTT is often limited by the phototherapeutic defects such as low light penetration depth of photosensitizers and insufficiency of photothermal ***(ONOO−)has been proved to be an efficient oxidizing and nitrating agent that involves in various physiological and pathological ***,ONOO−produced in tumor site could be an effective treatment in cancer ***,a novel cyanine dye-based(Cy7)polymer nanoplatform is developed for enhanced phototherapy by in situ producing ONOO−.The Cy7 units in the nanoparticles can not only be served as the photosensitizer to produce reactive oxygen species(ROS)including singlet oxygen and superoxide anion for PDT,but also be used as a heat source for PTT and the release of NO gas from N-nitrosated napthalimide(NORM)at the same *** NO can react quickly with superoxide anion to generate ONOO−,the enhanced phototherapy could be achieved by in situ ONOO−produced by PCy7-NO upon exposure to the near infrared(NIR)***,the NIR-triggered Cy7-based nanoplatform for ONOO−-enhanced phototherapy may provide a new perspective in cancer therapy.

In this paper, we focus on two-qubit pure state tomography. For an arbitrary unknown two-qubit pure state, separable or entangled, it has been found that the measurement probabilities of 16 projections onto the tensor products of Pauli eigenstates are enough to uniquely determine the state. Moreover, these corresponding product states are arranged into five orthonormal bases. We design five quantum circuits, which are decomposed into the common gates in universal quantum computation, to simulate the five projective measurements onto these bases. At the end of each circuit, we measure each qubit with the projective measurement {｜0〉〈0 ｜,｜1〉,〈1｜ }. Then, we consider the open problem whether three orthonormal bases are enough to distinguish all two-qubit pure states. A necessary condition is given. Suppose that there are three orthonormal bases {B1,B2,B3}. Denote the unitary transition matrices from B1 to {B2,B3 } as U1 and U2. All 32 elements of matrices U1 and U2 should not be zero. If not, these three bases cannot distinguish all two-qubit pure states.

Association between ApoE Polymorphism and Type 2 Diabetes: A Meta-Analysis of 59 Studies

Objective To identify the important risk factors for type 2 Diabetes Mellitus(T2 DM) and develop effective strategies to address the problem of T2 DM. Our study aimed to evaluate the association between apolipoprotein E(Apo E) genetic polymorphism and type 2 diabetes, and to provide clues for the etiology of T2 *** Based on the criteria of inclusion and exclusion, we extracted, pooled, analyzed and assessed the case-control studies of Apo E polymorphism and T2 DM published in Pub Med, Web of Science,Medline, Wan Fang, VIP, and CNKI databases by R soft-ware(version 3.4.3). We used Random-effect models when heterogeneity was present in between-study, and fixed-effect models *** We had 59 studies covering 6,872 cases with T2 DM and 8,250 controls, and compared the alleles and genotypes of Apo E between cases and controls. When we conducted a comparison between Apo E ε4 and ε3 alleles, we produced a pooled OR of 1.18(95% CI: 1.09-1.28;P < 0.001). Apo E ε2/ε2 genotype displayed a possible association with T2 DM(OR = 1.46;95% CI: 1.11-1.93;P = 0.007), ε3/ε4 genotype showed a 1.11-fold risk(OR = 1.11;95% CI: 1.01-1.22;P = 0.039) and ε4/ε4 genotype had a1.71-fold risk of developing T2 DM(OR = 1.71;95% CI: 1.33-2.19;P < 0.001) when they were compared with ε3/ε3 *** There is an association between Apo E polymorphism and T2 DM: allele ε4 and genotypes(ε2/ε2, ε3/ε4, and ε4/ε4) are associated with the increased risk for the development of T2 DM, and they may be risk factors for T2 DM.
