In surface roughness measurement,if spikes are included in the primary profile,a problem occurs wherein the Gaussian filter(GF)is unable to extract the shape *** address this problem,the use of a robust filter is ***,ISO16610-31:Gaussian regression filters(GRF)only provide a single method and a few examples,and does not specify the conditions under which the primary profile can be ***,the data presented in the example on robustness in ISO16610-31 do not contain roughness *** actual roughness measurements,no primary profile exists that does not include a roughness *** the characteristics of GRFs are unknown,it is not yet clear which filter should be used for which primary profile,and this is an issue that has been raised at ISO and JIS *** addition,the establishment of filter selection guidelines is necessary at measurement ***,this paper clarifies the characteristics of GF-series filters,summarizes the points to be considered when using them,and identifies the filter that should be selected according to different *** on the results,a figure that visualizes the characteristics of filters and a flowchart regarding which filter should be used are created;these tools,to the best of the authors’knowledge,did not exist prior to this *** is believed that these results will help fulfil the needs of measuring job sites and also aid in filter selection.

User-centric data sharing is essential to encourage citizens'active participation in the digital *** key to smart cities,a form of the digital economy,is the promotion of public use of citizen ***,it is not easy to utilize data without citizens’*** this study,we took a technological approach to these *** access(UMA)is a well-known framework for delegating resource access rights to others on the *** UMA,authorization mechanisms are designed to be centralized so that resource owners can centrally manage access rights for various resources stored in different ***,the lack of transparency in the authorization mechanism is a barrier to its implementation in large-scale systems such as smart *** this study,we developed a blockchain-based cross-domain authorization architecture that enables a resource-sharing ecosystem in which organizations that wish to utilize data can freely trade with each *** proposed architecture solves the transparency problem that conventional authorization systems have had by designing the authorization mechanism on blockchain *** implemented the proposed architecture as smart contracts and evaluated its processing *** resultant time required for delegating access rights and accessing resources was less than 500 ***,we found that the fluctuation in the processing time overhead was *** on these results,we concluded that performance degradation with the proposed architecture is minor.

A spline filter is used to extract roughness profiles for the measurement of surface texture and is useful when sufficient sections before and after a primary profile could not be *** is because a spline filter could prevent the end effect,which is the fluctuation of output data that occurs around both ends of the primary profile and depends on the width of the weighting function of a *** spline filter is based on the calculation of an inverse matrix instead of the convolution of the weighting function of the *** input data include outliers,the output of a spline filter greatly *** solve this problem,we propose a robust spline ***,output of the robust spline is not in agreement with that of the spline filter when input data do not include ***,the robust spline filter has no lower *** this paper,the"Fast M-estimation Spline Filter(FMSF)"is *** uses the fast M-estimation *** performs robust to input data including outliers,and gives the same output as that of general spline filters to input data without *** value estimated by this method is in agreement with that estimated by the least squares method if no outlier *** order to apply the fast M-estimation method to the spline filter,convolution of weight function is used instead of the inverse *** the input geometry with shear and point-symmetric extensions is pre-processed to prevent the end effect.

4-Aminophenylalanine(4APhe),an exotic amino acid which is obtained as a microorganism metabolite of glucose,is polycondensed with various tetracarboxylic dianhydrides as a diamine monomer to obtain poly(amic acid)*** thermal imidization of poly(amic acid)s is made at 220°C with stepwise heating from 100°*** of the obtained polyimides(PIs)exhibited good solubility in organic solvents such as N,N-dimethylformamide,N.N dimethylacetamide,and *** progress of imidization was observed by proton nuclear magnetic resonance and infrared spectroscopy to confrm that the imidization ratio was up to 98%.Carboxylate group of the side-chains of PIs affected their solubilities despite the high imidization ratio,and the solubility was lost for any organic solvents by decarboxylation at 280。C,confirmed from mass-loss of thermogravimetric ***,a new series of PIs were obtained with abilities of solvent-molding in PI state and thermal resistivityt enhancement by further heating after molding.

Simultaneous processes such as parallel turningor milling offer great opportunities for more efficientmanufacturing because of their higher material removalrates. To maximize their advantages, chatter suppressiontechnologies for simultaneous processes must be devel-oped. In this study, we constructed an automatic chattersuppression system with optimal pitch control for shared-surface parallel turning with rigid tools and a flexibleworkpiece, integrating in-process chatter monitoring basedon the cutting force estimation. The pitch angle betweentwo tools is tuned adaptively in a position control system inaccordance with the chatter frequency at a certain spindlespeed, in a similar manner as the design methodology forvariable-pitch cutters. The cutting force is estimatedwithout using an additional external sensor by employing amulti-encoder-based disturbance observer. In addition, thechatter frequency is measured during the process by per-forming a low-computational-load spectrum analysis at acertain frequency range, which makes it possible to cal-culate the power spectrum density in the control system ofthe machine tool. Thus, the constructed system for automatic chatter suppression does not require any addi-tional equipment.

The bivoltine silkworm Bombyx mori （Lepidoptera： Bombycidae） exhibits a maternally controlled embryonic diapause. Maternal silkworms decide whether to lay diapause or nondiapause eggs depending on environmental factors such as the temperature and photoperiod during the egg and larval stages, and then induce diapause eggs during the pupal stage. However, little is known about the molecular mechanism that conveys the outcome of whether to produce diapause or nondiapause eggs from the egg or larval stages to the pupal stage. This study used microarray analysis to investigate differentially expressed genes in the larval brains of diapause- and nondiapause-egg producers, to which bivoltine silkworms were destined by thermal or photic stimulation during the egg stage. The cytochrome P450 18al and kriippel homolog i genes were upregulated in producers of diapause eggs compared with those of nondiapause eggs under both experimental conditions. Cytochrome P450 18al encodes a key enzyme for steroid hormone inactivation and krfippel homolog 1 is an early juvenile hormone-inducible gene that mediates the repression of metamorphosis. The upregulation of these genes during the larval stage might be involved in the signaling pathway that transmits information about the diapause program from the egg stage to the pupal stage in the silkworm.

Vanadium sulfide was first employed as a cathode for all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries and demonstrated superior compatibility with the solid electrolyte, in which the interface between the electrode and solid electrolyte has been optimized. Consequently, it can exhibit excellent electrochemical performance in the voltage range of 1.5–3.5 V. Moreover, the ex-situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements reveal the incomplete conversion mechanism to account for the superior electrochemical performance. Specifically, the electrode of VS_(2) exhibits a large capacity of 268.1 mA h g^(-1) at 50 mA g^(-1)(rate performance). At a current density of 100 mA g^(-1), a large reversible capacity of 215 mA h g^(-1) can be maintained after 100 cycles,indicating extraordinary cycling stability, making it a promising electrode for high energy density all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries.
