Effect of entacapone on colon motility and ion transport in a rat model of Parkinson's disease

AIM: To study the effects of entacapone, a catecholO-methyltransferase inhibitor, on colon motility and electrolyte transport in Parkinson's disease(PD) ***: Distribution and expression of catecholO-methyltransferase(COMT) were measured by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting methods. The colonic smooth muscle motility was examined in vitroby means of a muscle motility recording device. The mucosal electrolyte transport of PD rats was examined by using a short-circuit current(I SC) technique and scanning ion-selective electrode technique(SIET). Intracellular detection of c AMP and c GMP was accomplished by radioimmunoassay testing. RESULTS: COMT was expressed in the colons of both normal and PD rats, mainly on the apical membranes of villi and crypts in the colon. Compared to normal controls, PD rats expressed less COMT. The COMT inhibitor entacapone inhibited contraction of the PD rat longitudinal muscle in a dose-dependent manner. The β2 adrenoceptor antagonist ICI-118,551 blocked this inhibitory effect by approximately 67%(P lication of Cl- channel blocker diphenylamine-2, 2'-dicarboxylic acid, basolateral application of Na+-K+-2Cl-co-transporter antagonist bumetanide, elimination of Cl- from the extracellular fluid, as well as pretreatment using adenylate cyclase inhibitor MDL12330 A. As an inhibitor of prostaglandin synthetase, indomethacin can inhibit entacaponeinduced ISC by 45%(P lied to measure Cl- flux changes, this provided similar results. Entacapone significantly increased intracellular c AMP content in the colonic mucosa, which was greatly inhibited by ***: COMT expression exists in rat colons. The β2 adrenoceptor is involved in the entacaponeinduced inhibition of colon motility. Entacapone induces c AMP-dependent Cl- secretion in the PD rat.

Theδ18O of ice core enclosed gaseous oxygen(δ18Obub)has been widely used for climate reconstruction in polar ***,less is known about its climatic implication in the mountainous glaciers as the lack of continuous ***,we present a long-term,continuousδ18Obub record from the Tanggula glacier in the central Tibetan Plateau(TP).Based on comparisons of its variation with regional climate and glacier changes,we found that there was a good correlation between the variation of theδ18Obub in this alpine ice core and the accumulation and melting of this *** more developed the firn layer on glacier surface,the more positive theδ***,the more intense the glacier melting,the more negative theδ*** with the chronology of ice core enclosed gases,the glacier variations since the late Holocene in the central TP were *** result showed that there were four accumulation and three deficit periods of glaciers in this *** strongest glacier accumulation period was 1610-300 B.C.,which corresponds to the *** most significant melting period was the last 100 years,which corresponds to the recent global *** Medieval Warm Period was relatively significant in the central ***,during the little Ice Age,there was no significant glacier accumulation in the central TP,and even short deficit events *** of the late Holocene glacier variation in the central TP with glacier and climate variations in the TP and the Northern Hemisphere showed that it was closely related to the North Atlantic Oscillation.

What factors determine the mass elevation effect of the Tibetan Plateau?

The mass elevation effect(MEE)of the Tibetan Plateau(TP)has attracted the attention of geographers because of its significant influence on the Asian climate,snow line,timberline,and other important climate-ecological boundaries of the plateau and on global ecological *** recent years,much progress has been made in quantifying the MEE of ***,factors that affect the size of MEE have not been examined in depth,and the key factors still remain *** on quantification of MEE for each mountain basal elevation plot,this study identifies the factors that contribute significantly to MEE of the *** factors are considered,including mountain basal elevation,distance from the core zone of MEE,thermal continentality,maximum elevation,height difference,area,and difference of underlying surface(with the yearly max"Normalized Difference Vegetation Index"(NDVI)serving as a quantitative indicator).We also used these seven factors as independent variables to develop a multiple linear regression model for MEE of the *** show that:(1)the determination coefficient(R2)of the model reaches as high as 0.877,and the contributions of mountain basal elevation,distance from the core zone of MEE,thermal continentality,maximum elevation,topographical height difference,area,and NDVI are 39.77%,23.02%,14.48%,5.78%,11.41%,2.92%,and 2.62%,respectively,with mountain basal elevation and the distance from the core of MEE as the most important factors;(2)thermal continentality and MEE are significantly correlated,and maximum elevation only has a coupling relationship with MEE,with height difference and NDVI contributing little to *** study deepens our understanding of MEE and its forming factors in the Tibetan Plateau.

Experimental analysis on bolt interference during advanced water detection with the mine transient electromagnetic method

During advanced water detection using the transient electromagnetic method, the exploration effect for water-rich area is often poor due to the interference of bolts that are distributed in different positions in working face. Thus, the study on the interference characteristics of bolts in different states has important directive significance for improving the acquisition quality and data processing method in water detection. Based on the analysis of the distribution laws of magnetic field excited by small multi-turn coincident loop in full space of homogeneity, the test on the interference of bolts has been designed in the mine. Through drilling 18 holes around the overlapping coil in the working face, mass data are collected in order with the posi- tion change and the exposed bolt length. The results of comprehensive data analysis show that the transient electromagnetic field is strongly interfered as the distance between the bolt and the center of the coil is less than 3 m, and the interference varies greatly as the distance varies. On the other hand, the field induced by the bolts can be ignored as the distance exceeds 3 m. The findings can help to improve data acquisition and correction during advanced water detection when using the transient electromagnetic method.

In order to enhance the area throughput of next generation wireless local area network(WLAN)in high density scenarios,orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA)has been adopted as one of the key technologies in the next generation WLAN communication ***,the performance of the existing media access control(MAC)degrades significantly under unsaturated ***,this paper proposes a multi-user parallel contention channel MAC(MU-MAC)based on unsaturated services,which can effectively reduce the channel access conflict and improve the OFDMA access efficiency of cluster member *** this basis,MU-MAC is enhanced for the spatial clustering group(SCG)formation protocol and support for the unsaturated service ***,the optimal access radius when the service is in a non-saturated state is analyzed to make the relevant theoretical analysis more generally,and the expressions for the throughput and area throughput of the proposed protocol are modeled and *** simulation results verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis and the efficiency of the protocol *** results show that MU-MAC outperforms IEEE 802.11ax and OMAX protocol in area throughput by 40.72%and 104.15%,respectively.

Mechanisms of Dangua Recipe in Improving Glycolipid Metabolic Disorders Based on Transcriptomics

The twinned substructure of lenticular martensite in a quenched Fe–33Ni alloy was *** contrary to the traditional viewpoint that the twinned laths come from{112}deformation twins and show insignificant hardening,we demonstrate that they are actually originated from the twinned Kurdjumov Sachs(KS)variants and can give rise to 3–4 times hardening up to~420 HV(~130 HV for the starting sample).The underlying mechanisms responsible for the propensity for twinned variants and the carbon-independent hardening for Fe–Ni system were discussed.

Primary antibiotic resistance of Helicobacter pylori strains isolated from patients with dyspeptic symptoms in Beijing: A prospective serial study

AIM:To determine the resistance patterns of Helicobacter pylori(***) strains isolated from patients in Beijing and monitor the change of antibiotic resistance over ***:In this prospective,serial and crosssectional study,*** cultures were successfully obtained from 371 and 950 patients(never receiving eradication) during 2009-2010 and 2013-2014,*** to amoxicillin,clarithromycin,metronidazole,levofloxacin,tetracycline,and rifampicin was determined by Epsilometer ***:The resistance rates of isolates obtained during 2009-2010 were 66.8%,39.9%,34.5%,15.4%,6.7%,and 4.9% to metronidazole,clarithromycin,levofloxacin,rifampicin,amoxicillin and tetracycline,respectively; and the corresponding rates for isolates during 2013-2014 were 63.4%,52.6%,54.8%,18.2%,4.4% and 7.3%,*** resistance rates to clarithromycin and levofloxacin were significantly increased after four *** 2009-2010,14.6% of *** isolates were susceptible to all tested antibiotics,with mono(33.7%),double(28.3%),triple(16.7%),quadruple(6.2%),quintuple(0.3%) and sextuple resistance(0.3%) also being *** 2013-2014,9.4% were susceptible to all tested antibiotics,and mono(27.6%),double(28.4%),triple(24.9%),quadruple(7.3%),quintuple(2.3%) and sextuple resistance(0.1%) was also *** multiple resistant *** isolates were found during ***(to levofloxacin and metronidazole),age(to levofloxacin) and endoscopic findings(to clarithromycin) were independent factors influencing antibiotic ***:*** resistance to commonly used antibiotics in Beijing is high with increased multiple antibiotic resistance.
