BACKGROUND Intermediate coronary lesions(ICLs)are highly prevalent but ported mixed *** strain has been associated with plaque vulnerability,yet its role in predicting lesion progression is largely *** purpose of this study was to determine the predictive value of angiography-derived radial wall strain(RWS)for progression of untreated non-culprit *** Post-hoc analysis was conducted in a study cohort including 603 consecutive patients with 808 ICLs identified at index procedure with angiographic follow-up of up to two *** analysis was performed on selected angiographic frames with minimal foreshortening and vessel *** progression was defined as≥20%increase in percent diameter *** Lesion progression occurred in 49 ICLs(6.1%)with a median follow-up period of 16.8 *** RWS(RWSmax),frequently located at the proximal and throat plaque regions,distinguished progressive ICLs from silent *** largest area under the curve value of 0.75(95%CI:0.67–0.82,P12.6%.According to this threshold,178 ICLs were classified as having a high strain *** to a high strain amplitude with RWS_(max)>12.6%was independently associated with an increased risk of lesion progression(adjusted HR=6.82,95%CI:3.67–12.66,P<0.001).CONCLUSIONS Assessment of RWS from coronary angiography is feasible and provides independent prognostic value in patients with untreated ICLs.

This study presents a multiscale method to evaluate the transverse tensile strength and failure mechanism of SiC_(f)/TC17 cruciform specimen machined from a large-size *** mechanical properties and failure of the specimen were evaluated through a macroscale model under transverse tensile loading at 200°C.A mesoscale model was developed to analyze the transverse tensile behavior and failure of the composite *** debonding,plastic deformation of matrix and cladding,and damage to the composite core were incorporated into the mesoscopic and macroscopic *** stress–strain curves and fracture modes obtained from the numerical simulation showed good agreement with the experimental curves,acoustic emission test results,and fracture *** simulation results suggested that the damage to the central region interface and the plastic deformation of the matrix initiated first and propagated ***,the interfacial failure,matrix failure,and formation of macro-crack developed,which led to the crack of the titanium matrix composite ***,cladding was plastically deformed and crack developed,which led to the severe failure of the cruciform specimen.

Rare-earth doped inorganic ferroelectrics are considered as novel photochromic materials,with potential applications for optical switch and information storage(K0.5Na0.5)1–xEuxNbO3(KNN:xEu)ceramics were prepared by high temperature calcination,with precursor powder obtained by hydrothermal *** red emission at 615 nm was observed which corresponds to the 5D0→7F2 transition of Eu3+under excitation of 465 *** UV light irradiation for 3 min,the color of the ceramics turned from milky white to dark *** colored samples returned to the original color when heated at 200℃for 10 min,showing strong photochromic ***,the luminescence intensity of Eu3+can be tuned without obvious degradation by alternating UV light and heat *** UV light irradiation,large luminescence modulation ratio(ΔRt)up to 83.9%was achieved for KNN:0.06Eu,indicating good luminescence switching behavior.A possible mechanism for non-radiative energy transfer from the luminescent center to the color center was proposed according to their luminescent behavior.

The mechanical properties of Si-doped(111)GaAs crystal for solar cells are investigated by means of a microindentation ***'microhardness Hv exhibits a nonlinear relationship with the applied *** the range of 0.1–1 kg,Hv is decreased from 5.59 GPa to 5.03 *** a phenomenon is explained on the basis of indenter *** Hv value can effectively be presumed by Kick's law,and Meyer's index n is calculated to be *** the fracture toughness Kc of the GaAs crystal,it also displays nonlinear behavior related to the applied load,which is caused by energy dissipation during the development process of cracks on the wafer.

Objective To assess the secular trends in the etiology and comorbidity ofpatients hospitalized with congestive heart failure (CHF).Methods Data of 7,319 patients (mean age 59.6 years, 62.1% male) with a primary discharge diagnosis of CHF, hospitalized from January 1, 1993 to December 31, 2007 at the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) General Hospital were extracted and analyzed. These patients were divided into three groups according to hospitalization period: 1993–1997 (n = 1623), 1998–2002 (n = 2444), and 2003–2007 (n = 3252). The etiological characteristics and comorbidities were assessed. Results Over the study period, the proportion of patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) increased from 37.2% during the period 1993–1997 to 46.8% during the period 2003–2007, while that with valvular heart disease (VHD) decreased from 35.2%during the period 1993–1997 to 16.6% during the period 2003–2007 (both P < 0.05). Atrial fibrillation (AF) was the most common comorbidity of heart failure (23.2%, 23.0% and 20.6%, respectively, in the three periods). Compared to that of the period of 1993–1997 with that of, the proportion of patients with myocardial infarction, pneumonia, renal function impairment and hepatic cirrhosis of the period of 2003–2007 increased significantly (P < 0.05) and the proportion of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and atrial fibrillation decreased significantly (P < 0.05). Conclusions This study implies that IHD has became a more common etiology of CHF, while VHD has deceased as an etiology of CHF in Chinese patients during the last two decades.

A novel metal-organic framework[Co(BTTA)(H_(2)O)_(2)]_(n)(FJI-H_(2)4)has been prepared from H_(2)BTTA ligand and CoCl_(2),and its structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction,thermogravimetric analysis,and Fourier transform infrared *** has relatively narrow pores and high density of open metal ions and free Lewis base *** adsorption tests demonstrate that FJI-H_(2)4 has moderate CO_(2)(34.0 cm^(3)·g^(–1))and C_(2)H_(2)(53.0 cm^(3)·g^(–1))adsorption capacity,but displays high selectivity of CO_(2)/N_(2)(87)and C_(2)H_(2)/CH_(4)(66)under ambient conditions(298 K,1 atm),which may be attributed to its relatively narrow pores and polar *** work will provide a potential strategy for preparing practical porous metal-organic frameworks for gas adsorption and purification.

Recently,PbSnSe_(2)alloy was found to exhibit a large hysteresis effect on transport properties,demonstrating its significant potential for thermoelectric *** ab initio approaches,we studied the carrier transport properties of PbSnSe_(2)crystal,which is a special case of the alloy with the shortest-range order.A peak power factor of 134.2μW cm^(-1)K^(-2)was found along the crossplane direction in the n-type PbSnSe_(2)at a doping concentration of 7×10^(20)cm^(-3)at 700 *** high power factor originates from delocalized p electrons between intra-plane Pb-Se pairs and between cross-plane Sn-Se pairs that can build up transport channels for conducting electrons,leading to a high electrical conductivity of 5.9×10^(5)S m^(-1).Introducing Pb atoms into Pnma phase SnSe can decrease the phonon group velocities and enhance the phonon-phonon scatterings,leading to a low thermal conductivity of 0.53 W m^(-1)K^(-1)at 700 K along the cross-plane *** calculated peak ZT of~3 along the cross-plane direction at an n-type doping concentration of around 5×10^(19)cm^(-3),which represents a theoretical upper limit for an idealized PbSnSe_(2)*** work interprets the origins of three-dimensional charge and two-dimensional phonon transport behavior in PbSnSe_(2)and demonstrates that such crystals are promising high-performance thermoelectric semiconductors.

In order to overcome the defects that the analysis of multi-well typical curves of shale gas reservoirs is rarely applied to engineering,this study proposes a robust production data analysis method based on deconvolution,which is used for multi-well inter-well interference *** this study,a multi-well conceptual trilinear seepage model for multi-stage fractured horizontal wells was established,and its Laplace solutions under two different outer boundary conditions were ***,an improved pressure deconvolution algorithm was used to normalize the scattered production ***,the typical curve fitting was carried out using the production data and the seepage model ***,some reservoir parameters and fracturing parameters were interpreted,and the intensity of inter-well interference was *** effectiveness of the method was verified by analyzing the production dynamic data of six shale gas wells in Duvernay *** results showed that the fitting effect of typical curves was greatly improved due to the mutual restriction between deconvolution calculation parameter debugging and seepage model parameter ***,by using the morphological characteristics of the log-log typical curves and the time corresponding to the intersection point of the log-log typical curves of two models under different outer boundary conditions,the strength of the interference between wells on the same well platform was well *** work can provide a reference for the optimization of well spacing and hydraulic fracturing measures for shale gas wells.

Objective To compare the distribution ofKCNJll polymorphisms between elderly Chinese population with and without hypertension. Methods We examined the mutation of KCNJll gene by directly sequencing. Data for the present study were obtained from 250 hypertensive subjects （60 to 83 years old） as well as 250 normotensive subjects （60 to 86 years old）. Results We found nine different mutations in KCNJ11, including six novel mutations （1131M, L1471, L147V, L147L, Q235H, G245C）. None of the novel mutations were found in the normotensive subjects, and all the residues were conserved in other species. These sequence variants in Chinese population indicate the diversity of the human library and the complexity of hypertension. Conclusions The consistent finding of our present study provided a basis for the development of new strategies to diagnosis and treat hypertension in the elderly.
