Multi-objective optimization and evaluation of supercritical CO_(2) Brayton cycle for nuclear power generation

The supercritical CO_(2) Brayton cycle is considered a promising energy conversion system for Generation IV reactors for its simple layout,compact structure,and high cycle *** models of four Brayton cycle layouts are developed in this study for different reactors to reduce the cost and increase the thermohydraulic performance of nuclear power generation to promote the commercialization of nuclear *** analysis,multi-objective optimizations,and four decision-making methods are applied to obtain each Brayton scheme’s optimal thermohydraulic and economic *** show that for the same design thermal power scale of reactors,the higher the core’s exit temperature,the better the Brayton cycle’s thermo-economic *** the four-cycle layouts,the recompression cycle(RC)has the best overall performance,followed by the simple recuperation cycle(SR)and the intercooling cycle(IC),and the worst is the reheating cycle(RH).However,RH has the lowest total cost of investment(C_(tot))of$1619.85 million,and IC has the lowest levelized cost of energy(LCOE)of 0.012$/(kWh).The nuclear Brayton cycle system’s overall performance has been improved due to *** performance of the molten salt reactor combined with the intercooling cycle(MSR-IC)scheme has the greatest improvement,with the net output power(W_(net)),thermal efficiencyη_(t),and exergy efficiency(η_(e))improved by 8.58%,8.58%,and 11.21%,*** performance of the lead-cooled fast reactor combined with the simple recuperation cycle scheme was optimized to increase C_(tot) by 27.78%.In comparison,the internal rate of return(IRR)increased by only 7.8%,which is not friendly to investors with limited *** the nuclear Brayton cycle,the molten salt reactor combined with the recompression cycle scheme should receive priority,and the gas-cooled fast reactor combined with the reheating cycle scheme should be considered carefully.

Heart injury such as myocardial infarction leads to cardiomyocyte loss,fibrotic tissue deposition,and scar *** changes reduce cardiac contractility,resulting in heart failure,which causes a huge public health *** personnel,compared with civilians,is exposed to more stress,a risk factor for heart diseases,making cardiovascular health management and treatment innovation an important topic for military *** far,medical intervention can slow down cardiovascular disease progression,but not yet induce heart *** the past decades,studies have focused on mechanisms underlying the regenerative capability of the heart and applicable approaches to reverse heart *** have emerged from studies in animal models and early clinical *** interventions show the potential to reduce scar formation and enhance cardiomyocyte proliferation that counteracts the pathogenesis of heart *** this review,we discuss the signaling events controlling the regeneration of heart tissue and summarize current therapeutic approaches to promote heart regeneration after injury.

Demonstration of controlled high-dimensional quantum teleportation

Controlled quantum teleportation(CQT), which is regarded as the prelude and backbone for a genuine quantum internet, reveals the cooperation, supervision, and control relationship among the sender, receiver, and controller in the quantum network within the simplest unit. Compared with low-dimensional counterparts, high-dimensional CQT can exhibit larger information transmission capacity and higher superiority of the controller's authority. In this article, we report a proof-of-principle experimental realization of three-dimensional(3D) CQT with a fidelity of 97.4% ± 0.2%. To reduce the complexity of the circuit, we simulate a standard 4-qutrit CQT protocol in a 9×9-dimensional two-photon system with high-quality operations. The corresponding control powers are 48.1% ± 0.2% for teleporting a qutrit and 52.8% ± 0.3% for teleporting a qubit in the experiment, which are both higher than the theoretical value of control power in 2-dimensional CQT protocol(33%). The results fully demonstrate the advantages of high-dimensional multi-partite entangled networks and provide new avenues for constructing complex quantum networks.

Ultrafast laser-chemical modification hybrid fabrication of hydrostatic bearings with a superhydrophobicity solid-liquid interface

Oil film vortex severely reduces the stability of hydrostatic bearings. A solid-liquid interface with drag and slip properties can weaken the oil film vortex of the bearing. Here, a combined picosecond laser ablation and chemical modification method is proposed to prepare surfaces with microbulge array structure on 6061 aluminum alloy substrates. Because of the low surface energy of the perfluorododecyltriethoxysilane modification and the bulge geometry of the microbulge array structure, the surface shows excellent superhydrophobicity. The optimum contact angle in air for water is 164°, and that for oil is 139°. Two surfaces with “lotus-leaf effect” and “rose-petal effect” were obtained by controlling the processing parameters. The drag reduction properties of superhydrophobic surfaces were systematically investigated with slip lengths of 22.26 and 36.25 μm for deionized water and VG5 lubricant, respectively. In addition, the superhydrophobic surface exhibits excellent mechanical durability and thermal stability. The proposed method provides a new idea for vortex suppression in hydrostatic bearings and improves the stability of bearings in high-speed operation.

However,most of these tasks demand a substantial amount of labeled training data, which can be challenging to obtain in many real-world applications due to difficulties, costs, or time constraints associated with labeling. In this context,semi-supervised learning (SSL) has emerged as a promising paradigm to alleviate the dependency on large labeled datasets by harnessing the power of unlabeled data [1–3].

Pd cluster decorated free standing flexible cathode for high performance Li-oxygen batteries

As a promising candidate for the next generation energy storage system,rechargeable lithium-oxygen batteries(LOBs)still face substantial challenges caused by insulating discharge products that preclude their practical *** highly efficient cathode catalysts capable of facilitating formation/decomposition of discharge products is considered as an essential approach towards high performance ***,Pd decorated Te nanowires(Pd@Te NWs)were synthesized as advanced catalyst in LOBs to maximize Pd utilization and achieve synergistic effect,in which Pd clusters were uniformly grown on Te substrate though regulating the Pd:Te ***,Pd@Te nanowires assembled into an interpenetrating network-like structure by vacuum filtration and employed as flexible cathode,enabling LOBs achieved an ultralong 190 cycles stability and a superior specific capacity of 3.35 mAh·cm^(-2).Experimental studies and density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal the excellent catalytic ability of Pd@Te and synergistic catalytic mechanism of Pd and Te,in which uniform electron distribution,extensive electron exchange,and large adsorption distance between Pd cluster and discharge products promote homogeneous adsorption/desorption of discharge products,while the high adsorption energy of Te substrate for Li species reduces the initial dynamical energy barrier during discharging *** current work provides viable strategy to design composite catalysts for flexible cathode of LOBs with synergistic catalytic effects.

Exosome-encapsulated lncRNA HOTAIRM1 contributes to PM_(2.5)-aggravated COPD airway remodeling by enhancing myofibroblast differentiation

Emphysema,myofibroblast accumulation and airway remodeling can occur in the lungs due to exposure to atmospheric pollution,especially fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5)),leading to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Specifically,bronchial epithelium-fibroblast communication participates in airway remodeling,which results in *** increasing number of studies are now being conducted on the role of exosome-mediated cell-cell communication in disease ***,we investigated whether exosomes generated from bronchial epithelial cells could deliver information to normal stromal fibroblasts and provoke cellular responses,resulting in airway obstruction in *** studied the mechanism of exosome-mediated intercellular communication between human bronchial epithelial(HBE) cells and primary lung fibroblasts(pLFs).We found that PM_(2.5)-induced HBE-derived exosomes promoted myofibroblast differentiation in ***,the exosomal lncRNA expression profiles derived from PM_(2.5)-treated HBE cells and nontreated HBE cells were investigated using an Agilent Human LncRNA *** coculture assays and direct exosome treatment,we found that HBE cell-derived exosomal HOTAIRM1 facilitated the myofibroblast differentiation of ***,we discovered that exosomal HOTAIRM1 enhanced p LF proliferation to secrete excessive collagen secretion,leading to airway obstruction by stimulating the TGF-β/SMAD3 signaling ***,PM_(2.5)reduced FEV1/FVC and FEV1 and increased the level of serum exosomal HOTAIRM1 in healthy people;moreover,serum exosomal HOTAIRM1 was associated with PM_(2.5)-related reductions in FEV1/FVC and *** findings show that PM_(2.5)triggers alterations in exosome components and clarify that one of the paracrine mediators of myofibroblast differentiation is bronchial epithelial cell-derived HOTAIRM1,which has the potential to be an effective prevention and therapeutic target for PM_(2.5)-induced COPD.

BACKGROUND The lack of specific symptoms of gastric cancer(GC)causes great challenges in its early *** it is essential to identify the risk factors for early diagnosis and treatment of GC and to improve the survival *** To assist physicians in identifying changes in the output of publications and research hotspots related to risk factors for GC,constructing a list of key risk factors,and providing a reference for early identification of patients at high risk for *** Research articles on risk factors for GC were searched in the Web of Science core collection,and relevant information was extracted after *** literature was analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2019,CiteSpace V,and VOSviewer *** A total of 2514 papers from 72 countries and 2507 research institutions were ***(n=1061),National Cancer Center(n=138),and Shoichiro Tsugane(n=36)were the most productive country,institution,or author,*** research hotspots in the study of risk factors for GC are summarized in four areas,namely:Helicobacter pylori(***)infection,single nucleotide polymorphism,bio-diagnostic markers,and GC risk prediction *** In this study,we found that *** infection is the most significant risk factor for GC;single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)is the most dominant genetic factor for GC;bio-diagnostic markers are the most promising diagnostic modality for *** risk prediction models are the latest current research *** conclude that the most important risk factors for the development of GC are *** infection,SNP,smoking,diet,and alcohol.

The relationship between support and surrounding rock is of great significance to the control of surrounding rock in mining *** view of the fact that most of the existing numerical simulation methods construct virtual elements and stress servo control to approximately replace the hydraulic support problem,this paper establishes a new numerical model of hydraulic support with the same working characteristics as the actual hydraulic support by integrating numerical simulation software Rhino,Griddle and FLAC3D,which can realize the simulation of different working *** on this model,the influence mechanism of the supporting strength of hydraulic support on surrounding rock stress regulation and coal stability in front of the top coal caving face in extra thick coal seam were ***,under different support intensity,the abutment pressure of the bearing coal and the coal in front of it presents the “three-stage”evolution *** influence range of support intensity is 15%–30%.Secondly,1.5 MPa is the upper limit of impact that the support strength can have on the front coal failure ***,within a displacement range of 2.76 m from the coal wall,a support strength of1.5 MPa provides optimal control of the horizontal displacement of the coal.
