tWe proposed a facile synthesis of single-Ni-atom catalysts on low-cost porous carbon using a calcina-tion method at the temperatures of 850-1000°C,which were used for CO_(2) electrochemical reduction to *** porous carbon was prepared by carbonizing cheap and abundant humic *** structural characterizations of the as-synthesized catalysts and their electrocatalytic performances were *** results showed that the single-Ni-atom catalyst activated at 950°C showed an optimum catalytic performance,and it reached a CO Faradaic efficiency of 91.9% with a CO partial current density of 6.9 mAcm^(-2)at-0.9 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE).Additionally,the CO Faradaic efficiency and current density of the optimum catalyst changed slightly after 8 h of continuous operation,suggesting that it possessed an excellent *** structure-activity relations indicate that the variation in the CO_(2) electroche-mical reduction performance for the as-synthesized catalysts is ascribed to the combined effects of the increase in the content of pyrrolic N,the evaporation of Ni and N,the decrease in pore volume,and the change in graphitization degree.

Snow interacting with a high-speed train can cause the formation of ice in the train bogie region and affect its *** this study,a wind-snow multiphase numerical approach is introduced for high-speed train bogies on the basis of the Euler-Lagrange discrete phase model.A particle-wall impact criterion is implemented to account for the presence of snow particles on the ***,numerical simulations are conducted,considering various snow particle diameter distributions and *** research results indicate that when the particle diameter is relatively small,the distribution of snow particles in the bogie cavity is relatively ***,as the particle diameter increases,the snow particles in the bogie cavity are mainly located in the rear wheel pairs of the *** the more realistic Rosin-Rammler diameter distribution is applied to snow particles,the positions of snow particles with different diameters vary in the bogie *** precisely,smaller diameter particles are primarily located in the front and upper parts of the bogie cavity,while larger diameter snow particles accumulate at the rear and in the lower parts of the bogie cavity.

The non-uniform temperature distribution in supercritical CO_(2)(Sc-CO_(2))fracturing influences the density,viscosity,and volume expansion or shrinkage rate of Sc-CO_(2),impacting proppant *** study presents a coupled computational fluid dynamics-discrete element method and heat transfer model to examine the effects of proppant bed shape and the heat transfers of proppant-wall,proppant-fluid,and fluid-wall on the fluid and proppant temperature *** Sc-CO_(2)volume expansion is assessed under various temperature conditions by evaluating the volume-averaged Sc-CO_(2)*** factors,including proppant size,shape,thermal conductivity,concentration,temperature difference,and injection velocity,are carefully analyzed to elucidate their *** findings elucidate the existence of four distinct zones in the fluid temperature *** zone exhibits different magnitudes of temperature change under diverse conditions and undergoes dynamic transformations with the development of the proppant *** fluid-wall heat transfer and the fluid temperatures in Zones C and D are significantly subject to the fluid injection velocity(governing the heating duration),the temperature difference between fluid and formation(impacting the magnitude of heat flux),and the proppant bed shape(controlling the effective heating area).Additionally,the proppant-wall and proppant-fluid heat transfers determine the temperatures of both the proppant bed and the fluid within Zone B,showing a strong correlation with proppant thermal conductivity,proppant size,injection velocity,and temperature *** proposed coupled model provides valuable insights into the temperature distributions and flow behaviors of temperature-dependent fracturing fluids and proppants.

Recent advancements in quantum photonic circuits have significantly influenced the field of quantum information processing. The pursuit of an integrated quantum photonic circuit that offers an active, stable platform for large-scale integration and high processing efficiency remains a key objective. The grating coupler, as a crucial element for an efficient transformation output interface in the integrated quantum photonic circuits, presents significant potential for practical applications. Here, we demonstrate the integration block of a highly efficient shallow-etched focusing apodized grating coupler with indium arsenide(InAs) quantum dots(QDs) in gallium arsenide(GaAs) on a SiO2substrate for active quantum photonic circuits. The designed grating couplers possess a high efficiency over 90% in the broadband(900-930 nm) from the circuit to free space, and a nearly-perfect match with the fiber mode. Experimentally, the efficiency to free space reaches 81.8%, and the match degree with the fiber mode is high up to 92.1%. The proposed integration block offers the potential for large-scale integration of active quantum photonic circuits due to its stable solid substrate and highly performant output for quantum measurements.

Spinel cobalt oxide(Co_(3)O_(4)),consisting of tetrahedral Co^(2+)(CoTd)and octahedral Co^(3+)(CoOh),is considered as promising earth-abundant electrocatalyst for chlorine evolution reaction(CER).Identifying the catalytic contribution of geometric Co site in the electrocatalytic CER plays a pivotal role to precisely modulate electronic configuration of active Co sites to boost ***,combining density functional theory calculations and experiment results assisted with operando analysis,we found that the Co_(Oh) site acts as the main active site for CER in spinel Co_(3)O_(4),which shows better Cl^(-)adsorption and more moderate intermediate adsorption toward CER than CoTd site,and does not undergo redox transition under CER condition at applied *** by above findings,the oxygen vacancies were further introduced into the Co_(3)O_(4) to precisely manipulate the electronic configuration of Co_(Oh) to boost Cl^(-)adsorption and optimize the reaction path of CER and thus to enhance the intrinsic CER activity *** work figures out the importance of geometric configuration dependent CER activity,shedding light on the rational design of advanced electrocatalysts from geometric configuration optimization at the atomic level.

Silicon is one of the main gangue components in iron ore,usually in the form of quartz and *** studies have shown that SiO_(2) has a two-sided effect on the consolidation of pellets during high-temperature oxidation roasting of ***,it is very difficult to capture the structural evolution and migration mechanisms during high-tem-perature roasting process by existing experimental ***,the influence of SiO_(2) on the consolidation behavior of magnetite was studied through a series of roasting experiments and molecular dynamic *** results show that the consolidation index and particle growth index decrease with the increase in SiO_(2) content in the *** 1573 K,the liquid phase promotes the recrystallization growth of hematite at high *** dynamic study shows that it is difficult for quartz SiO_(2) to form sintering neck with Fe_(2)O_(3).When the calcination temperature is higher than 1400 K,the Fe_(2)O_(3)-Fe_(2)SiO_(4) system produces a considerable sintering neck structure after *** atomic migration ability of Fe_(2)SiO_(4) is much higher than that of Fe_(2)O_(3).The higher atomic migration ability of Fe_(2)SiO_(4) is the main reason for the formation of the sintering neck.
