Balloon overtube-guided colorectal endoscopic submucosal dissection

AIM:To evaluate the usefulness of a balloon overtube to assist colorectal endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)using a ***:The results of 45 consecutive patients who underwent colorectal ESD were analyzed in a single tertiary endoscopy *** preoperative evaluation of access to the lesion,difficulties were experienced in the positioning and stabilization of a gastroscope in 15 patients who were thus assigned to the balloonguided ESD group.A balloon overtube was placed with a gastroscope to provide an endoscopic channel to the lesion in cases with preoperatively identified difficulties related to *** ESD was performed following standard procedures.A submucosal fluid bleb was created with hyaluronic acid solution.A circumferential mucosal incision was made to marginate the *** isolated lesion was finally excised from the deeper layers with repetitive electrosurgical dissections with needle *** success of colorectal ESD,procedural feasibility,and procedure-related complications were the main outcomes and ***:The overall en bloc excision rate of colorectal ESD during this study at our institution was 95.6%.En bloc excision of the lesion was successfully achieved in 13 of the 15 patients(86.7%)in the balloon overtube-guided colorectal ESD group,which was comparable to the results of the standard ESD group with better accessibility to the lesion(30/30,100%,not statistically significant).CONCLUSION:Use of a balloon overtube can improve access to the lesion and facilitate scope manipulation for colorectal ESD.

Understanding the Mechanism for the In-Plane Yielding Anisotropy of a Hot-Rolled Zirconium Plate

Previously,the in-plane mechanical anisotropy of Zr hot-rolled plates is ascribed mainly to the different activities of the deformation modes activated when loading along different *** this work,a quantitative study on the deformation behavior of a pure Zr hot-rolled plate under tension along the rolling direction(RD)and transverse direction(TD)reveals that both the activities of deformation modes and the anisotropy of grain boundary strengthening account for a tensile yield strength anisotropy along the TD and *** plasticity simulations using viso-plastic self-consistent model show that prismatic slip is the predominant deformation mode for tension along the RD(RD-tension),while prismatic slip and basal slip are co-dominant deformation modes under tension along the TD(TD-tension).A low fraction of■under TD-tension,while hardly activated under *** activation of basal slip with a much higher critical resolve shear stress under TD-tension contributes to a higher yield strength along the TD than along the *** grain boundary strengthening effect under tension along the TD and RD were compared by calculating the activation stress difference(△Stress)and the geometric compatibility factor(m′)between neighboring *** results indicate a higher grain boundary strengthening for TD-tension than that for RD-tension,which will lead to a higher yield strength along the *** is,the anisotropy of grain boundary strengthening between TD-tension and RD-tension also plays an important role in the in-plane anisotropy along the RD and ***,the reasons for why there is a grain-boundary-strengthening anisotropy along the TD and RD were discussed.

Effects of elafibranor on liver fibrosis and gut barrier function in a mouse model of alcohol-associated liver disease

Background Opisthorchiid flukes, particularlyOpisthorchis viverrini,Opisthorchis felineus,Clonorchis sinensis, andMetorchis spp. are the most common fish-borne zoonotic human liver flukes (hLFs). Liver fluke infections are more prevalent in resource-deprived and underprivileged areas. We herein estimated the prevalence of the metacercariae (MC) of major hLFs in common large freshwater fishes (lFWF) marketed for human consumption from some selected areas of Bangladesh along with detection of their molluscan vectors and *** The current status of fish-borne zoonotic hLF infections in lFWF was investigated along with their molluscan vectors and mammalian reservoir hosts in Mymensingh and Kishoreganj in Bangladesh from July 2018–June 2022 using conventional and multiple molecular techniques, such as PCR, PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP), sequencing, and bioinformatic analyses. The infection rate of fishes was analyzed using theZ-test and the loads of MC were compared using the chi-squared (χ2) *** The MC ofC. sinensis,Opisthorchis spp., andMetorchis spp. were detected in 11 species of common and popular lFWF. In lFWF, the estimated prevalence was 18.7% and the mean load was 137.4 ± 149.8 MC per 100 g of fish. The prevalence was the highest (P 0.05) distributed between the head and body of fishes. The infection rate was slightly higher in cultured (19.6%) fishes. The MC ofC. sinensis,O. felineus,O. viverrini, andMetorchis orientalis in fishes were confirmed using PCR, PCR-RFLP and bioinformatics. The cercariae of opisthorchiid (Pleurolophocercus cercariae) flukes were only recovered fromBithynia spp. (3.9%, 42 out of 1089). CGG repeat expansions in LOC642361/NUTM2B-AS1 have recently been identified as a cause of oculopharyngeal myopathy with ***,since only three patients from a single family were reported,it remains unknown whether their clinicopathological features are typical for CGG repeat expansions in LOC642361/***,using repeat-primed-polymerase chain reaction and long-read sequencing,we identify 12 individuals from 3 unrelated families with CGG repeat expansions in LOC642361/NUTM2B-AS1,typically presenting with oculopharyngodistal *** CGG repeat expansions range from 161 to 669 repeat *** of the patients present with ptosis,restricted eye movements,dysphagia,dysarthria,and diffuse limb muscle *** one patient shows T2-weighted hyperintensity in the cerebellar white matter surrounding the deep cerebellar nuclei on brain magnetic resonance *** biopsies from three patients show a myopathic pattern and rimmed *** of muscle biopsies suggest that CGG repeat expansions in LOC642361/NUTM2B-AS1 may deleteriously affect aggrephagic capacity,suggesting that RNA toxicity and mitochondrial dysfunction may contribute to *** study thus expands the phenotypic spectrum for the CGG repeat expansion of LOC642361/NUTM2B-AS1 and indicates that this genetic variant typically manifests as oculopharyngodistal myopathy with chronic myopathic changes with rimmed vacuoles and filamentous intranuclear inclusions in muscle fibers.

Acute pancreatitis is one of the most common diseases in gastrointestinal,liver and pancreatic diseases,with about 300,000 annual admissions in the United States(1).Acute pancreatitis is complicated by pancreatic necrosis in 20%,and the mortality rate is 20%to 30%once infection occurs in pancreatic necrosis(2).Severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)was purely a surgical disease in 19th century due to its poor prognosis(3),but the importance of multidisciplinary approach is increasingly recognized as shown in the recent publication of French guidelines(4)by the collaboration of multisociety of surgery,gastroenterology,digestive endoscopy,interventional radiology,intensive care and nutrition.

Many traffic accidents occur in parking *** of the serious safety risks is vehicle-pedestrian ***,with the increasing development of automatic driving and parking technology,parking safety has received significant attention from vehicle safety ***,pedestrian protection in parking lots still faces many *** example,the physical structure of a parking lot may be complex,and dead corners would occur when the vehicle density is *** lead to pedestrians’sudden appearance in the vehicle’s path from an unexpected position,resulting in collision accidents in the parking *** advocate that besides vehicular sensing data,high-precision digital map of the parking lot,pedestrians’smart device’s sensing data,and attribute information of pedestrians can be used to detect the position of pedestrians in the parking ***,this subject has not been studied and explored in existing *** this void,this paper proposes a pedestrian tracking framework integrating multiple information sources to provide pedestrian position and status information for vehicles and protect pedestrians in parking *** also evaluate the proposed method through real-world *** experimental results show that the proposed framework has its advantage in pedestrian attribute information extraction and positioning *** can also be used for pedestrian tracking in parking spaces.

In-situ observation of twinning and detwinning in AZ31 alloy

Twinning and detwinning behavior of a commercial AZ31 magnesium alloy during cyclic compression–tension deformation with a total strain amplitude of 4%(±2%) was evaluated using the complementary techniques of in-situ neutron diffraction, identical area electron backscatter diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy. In-situ neutron diffraction demonstrates that the compressive deformation was dominated by twin nucleation, twin growth, and basal slip, while detwinning dominated the unloading of compressive stresses and subsequent tension stage. With increasing number of cycles from one to eight: the volume fraction of twins at-2% strain gradually increased from 26.3% to 43.5%;the residual twins were present after 2% tension stage and their volume fraction increased from zero to 3.7% as well as a significant increase in their number;and the twinning spread from coarse grains to fine grains involving more grains for twinning. The increase in volume fraction and number of residual twins led to a transition from twin nucleation to twin growth, resulting in a decrease in yield strength of compression deformation with increasing cycles. A large number of-component dislocations observed in twins and the detwinned regions were attributed to the dislocation transmutation during the twinning and detwinning. The accumulation of barriers including twin boundaries and various types of dislocations enhanced the interactions of migrating twin boundary with these barriers during twinning and detwinning, which is considered to be the origin for increasing the work hardening rate in cyclic deformation of the AZ31 alloy.
