BACKGROUND Medical treatment for Crohn’s disease(CD)has continuously improved,which has led to a decrease in surgical recurrence *** these advancements,25%of patients will undergo repeat intestinal *** of CD com-monly occurs on the mesentery side of the anastomosis *** To compare the new anti-mesenteric side-to-side delta-shaped stapled anasto-mosis(DSA)with the conventional stapled functional end-to-end anastomosis(CSA).METHODS This retrospective study included CD patients who underwent ileo-ileal or ileo-colic anastomosis between January 2020 and December *** DSA technique employed a stapler to maintain the concept of anti-mesentery side-to-side ana-stomosis by performing a 90°vertical closure of the open window compared with the CSA *** the corner where the open window is closed,the DSA avoids forming a pouch and creates an anastomosis resembling a delta shape within the intestinal *** compared demographics,preoperative condition,operative findings,and operative outcomes for the two *** The study included 175 patients,including 92 in the DSA group and 83 in the CSA *** two groups were similar in baseline characteristics,preoperative medical treatment,and operative findings except for the Montreal classification *** 30-days postoperative complication rate was signi-ficantly lower in the DSA group compared with the CSA group(16.3%vs 32.5%,P=0.009).Ileus incidence was significantly lower in the DSA group than in the CSA group(4.3%vs 14.5%,P=0.033),and the hospital stay was shorter in the DSA group than in the CSA group(5.67±1.53 days vs 7.39±3.68 days,P=0.001).CONCLUSION The DSA technique was feasible and showed comparable postoperative outcomes with lower short-term complic-ations compared with the CSA *** studies on CD recurrence and long-term complications are warranted.

Effects of core and non-dominant arm strength training on drive distance in elite golfers

Background： Various training schemes have sought to improve golf-related athletic ability. In the golf swing motion, the muscle strengths of the core and arms play important roles, where a difference typically exists in the power of arm muscles between the dominant and non- dominant sides. The purposes of this study were to determine the effects of exercises strengthening the core and non-dominant arm muscles of elite golf players （handicap 〈 3） on the increase in drive distance, and to present a corresponding training scheme aimed at improving golf performance ability. Methods： Sixty elite golfers were randomized into the control group （CG, n = 20）, core exercise group （CEG, n = 20）, and group receiving a combination of muscle strengthening exercises of the non-dominant arm and the core （NCEG, n = 20）. The 3 groups conducted the corresponding exercises for 8 weeks, after which the changes in drive distances and isokinetic strength were measured. Results： Significant differences in the overall improvement of drive distance were observed among the groups （p 〈 0.001）. Enhancement of the drive distance of NCEG was greater than both CG （p 〈 0.001） and CEG （p = 0.001）. Except for trunk flexion, all variables of the measurements of isokinetic strength for NCEG also showed the highest values compared to the other groups. Examination of the correlation between drive distance and isokinetic strength revealed significant correlations of all variables except trunk flexion, wrist extension, and elbow extension. Conclusion： The combination of core and non-dominant arm strength exercises can provide a more effective specialized training program than core alone training for golfers to increase their drive distances.

Interleukin-24 is correlated with differentiation and lymph node numbers in rectal cancer

AIM:To assess the significance of interleukin(IL)-24 and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)expression in lymph-node-positive rectal cancer. METHODS:Between 1998 and 2005,90 rectal adenocarcinoma patients with lymph node involvement were *** patients received radical surgery and postoperative pelvic chemoradiotherapy of 50.4-54.0 *** of 5-fluorouracil and leucovorin or levamisole was given intravenously during the first and last week of radiotherapy,and then monthly for about 6 *** of IL-24 and VEGF was evaluated by immunohistochemical staining of surgical specimens, and their relations with patient characteristics and survival were *** median follow-up of surviving patients was 73 mo(range:52-122 mo). RESULTS:IL-24 expression was found in 81 out of 90 patients;31 showed weak intensity and 50 showedstrong *** expression was found in 64 out of 90 *** and weak intensities of IL-24 expression were classified as negative expression for ***-24 expression was significantly reduced in poorly differentiated tumors in comparison with well or moderately differentiated tumors(P=0.004),N2b to earlier N stages(P=0.016),and stageⅢc to stageⅢ a orⅢb(P=0.028).The number of involved lymph nodes was also significantly reduced in IL-24-positive patients in comparison with IL-24-negative ones. There was no correlation between VEGF expression and patient *** of IL-24 and VEGF was not correlated with survival,but N stage and stages were significantly correlated with survival. CONCLUSION:IL-24 expression was significantly correlated with histological differentiation,and inversely correlated with the degree of lymph node involvement in stageⅢrectal cancer.

Primary biliary cholangitis(PBC) is an idiopathic autoimmune liver disease characterized by chronic cholestasis and destruction of the intrahepatic bile ducts. Similar to other autoimmune diseases, the pathogenesis of PBC is considered to be a complex etiologic phenomenon involving the interaction of genetic and environmental factors. Although a number of common variants associated with PBC have been reported from genome-wide association studies, a precise genetic mechanism underlying PBC has yet to be identified. Here, we describe a family with four sisters who were diagnosed with PBC. After the diagnosis of the index patient who was in an advanced stage of PBC, one sister presented with acute hepatitis, and two sisters were subsequently diagnosed with PBC. Notably, one half-sister with a different mother exhibited no evidence of PBC following clinical investigation. Our report suggests the possibility of a maternal inheritance of PBC susceptibility. Moreover, judging from the highpenetrance of the disease observed in this family, we inferred that a pathogenic genetic variant might be the cause of PBC development. We describe a family that exhibited diverse clinical presentations of PBC that included asymptomatic stages with mildly increased liver enzyme levels and symptomatic stages with acute hepatitis or advanced liver fibrosis. Additional studies are needed to investigate the role of genetic factors in the pathogenesis of this rare autoimmune disease.

Today’s electronic devices have required higher performance properties for 5G and artificial intelligence(AI).High-performance system on chip(SOC),graphic processing unit(GPU),and central processing unit(CPU)requires advanced packages to meet demands for performance,size,and high-speed *** respond to these demands,integration approaches such as 3D IC chip stacking,package on package(PoP),2.5D interposer integration,system-in-package(SiP),and fan-out packaging technologies have emerged[6,8,11,12].Therefore,the package substrate for high-performance device will require low transmission loss and the small package *** loss materials have limitation of seed layer formation with electroless Cu ***,heat treatment has major impact on substrate warpage in order for growth of plated Cu metal and curing for epoxy mold compound(EMC)*** this paper,we believe it is possible to create a seed layer on the low-loss material by combining electroless Cu plating and flash lamp annealing(FLA)method instead of sputtering *** terms of warpage control and metal growth,the flash lamp treatment,not the conventional convection or hot plate type heat treatment,could improve electro-migration between metal line and line through improving large number of(111)slip *** addition,flash lamp not only provides alternative to conventional heat treatment process but also significantly reduces substrate *** result of this study,by using FLA method for advanced package,it is possible to provide solutions in improving adhesion strength between dielectric materials and deposited metal film,and to reduce the warpage of the substrate.

Gastric inverted hyperplastic polyp: A rare cause of iron deficiency anemia

Gastric inverted hyperplastic polyp(IHP) is a rare gastric polyp characterized by the downward growth of hyperplastic mucosal components into the submucosal layer. Macroscopically, a gastric IHP resembles a subepithelial tumor(SET); as a result, accurately diagnosing gastric IHP is difficult. This issue has clinical significance because gastric IHP can be misdiagnosed as SET or as malignant neoplasm In addition, adenocarcinoma can accompany benign gastric IHP. Although in most cases, gastric IHPs are asymptomatic and are found incidentally, these polyps may cause anemia secondary to chronic bleeding. Here, we report one case involving gastric IHP accompanied by chronic iron deficiency anemia that was successfully managed using endoscopic submucosal dissection.
