Recently, traffic accidents caused by elderly drivers have been increasing. It is thought that the reasons of accidents are functions such as decline of eyesight, cognition and physical strength caused by aging. In order to assist safe driving for elderly drivers, it is necessary to sufficiently understand any possible relationship of various senior drivers’ cognition, physical strength and driving behavior. In this paper relationship of elderly driver’s cognition, physical strength and driving behaviors were analyzed using the result of driving instructions on urban road by driving school instructors.

Clinical and prognostic features in asymptomatic and symptomatic patients with arteriosclerosis obliterans

Background: Patients with arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO) often have co-existing atherosclerotic diseases. The purpose of this study was to examine the clinical features of patients with ASO, including the overlap of atherosclerotic risk factors, characteristics of car-diovascular events, and clinical prognosis. Method: We enrolled 205 consecutive patients who had ankle brachial index (ABI) of ?0.9 between January 2008 and December 2009. fontaine (f) classification and clinical background were evaluated and clinical events including mortality and major adverse cardiocerebro-vascular events (MACCEs) were determined. Results: There was a high prevalence of each risk factor. Sixty- five percent of subjects had three or more of the four overlapping risk factors, including hypertension, dia- betes, dyslipidemia, and smoking. After a maximum follow-up of 800 days, the incidence of MACCEs and mortality was 46% and 10%, respectively. We divided the patients into two groups according to the presence of ASO symptoms (f1 and f2-4) and compared the incidence of events. The incidence of MACCEs and mortality in the f2-4 group was significantly higher than that in the f1 group (P = 0.048, P = 0.044, respectively). After excluding lower extremity revascularization, coronary artery disease was a common cause of MACCEs, and the mortality rates after MACCEs increased in a stepwise manner according to f classification severity (P = 0.028). Conclusion: Patients with ASO had overlapping coronary risk factors and a high incidence rate of cardiovascular events. The incidence of coronary events was common, especially in symptomatic patients, and the mortality rates after MACCEs were high in accordance with f classification severity.

AIM: To determine the distribution of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) genotypes in Benin, and to clarify the virological characteristics of the dominant ***: Among 500 blood donors in Benin, 21 HBsAg-positive donors were enrolled in the study. HBV genotypes were determined by enzyme immunoassay and restriction fragment length polymorphism. Complete genome sequences were determined by PCR and direct ***: HBV genotype E (HBV/E) was detected in 20/21 (95.2%), and HBV/A in 1/21 (4.8%). from the age-specific prevalence of HBeAg to anti-HBe seroconversion (SC) in 19 HBV/E subjects, SC was estimated to occur frequently in late teens in HBV/*** comparison of four complete HBV/E genomes from HBeAg-positive subjects in this study and five HBV/E sequences recruited from the database revealed that HBV/E was distributed throughout West Africa with very low genetic divers ity (nucleotide homology 96.7-99.2%).Based on the sequences in the basic core promoter (BCP)to precore region of the nine HBV/E isolates compared to those of the other genotypes, a nucleotide substitution in the BCP, G1757A, was observed in HBV/***: HBV/E is predominant in the Republic of Benin, and SC is estimated to occur in late teens in HBV/E. The specific nucleotide substitution G1757A in BCP, which might influence the virological characteristics,is observed in HBV/E.

Naked DNA in cells:An inducer of major histocompatibility complex molecules to evoke autoimmune responses?

The major histocompatibility complex(MHC) is the exclusive chaperone that presents intracellular antigens,either self or foreign to T ***,aberrant expression of MHC molecules has been reported in various autoimmune target tissues such as thyroid follicular cells in Grave's ***,we review the discovery of an unexpected effect of cytosolic doublestranded DNA(ds DNA),despite its origins,to induce antigen processing and presenting genes,including MHC molecules,in non-immune ***,we highlight several recent studies that suggest cell injury endows thyroid epithelial cells with a phenotype of mature antigen presenting cells by inducing multiple antigen processing and presenting genes via releasing genomic DNA fragments into the *** discuss the possibility that such cytosolic ds DNA,in naked form without binding to histone proteins,might be involved in the development of cell damage-triggered autoimmune *** also discuss the possible molecular mechanism by which cytosolic ds DNA can induce MHC *** is reasonable to speculate that cytosolic ds DNA-induced MHC class Ⅰ is partially due to an autocrine/paracrine effect of type Ⅰ interferon(IfN).While the mechanism of cytosolic ds DNA-induced MHC class Ⅱ expression appears,at least partially,distinct from that mediated by IfN-γ.further in-depth are required to clarify this picture.

废热回收(EHR)系统是改善燃油经济性和车内舒适性的有效且充满吸引力的方法之一,对于冬季的混合动力汽车尤为如此。多数传统旁通系统的热执行器都含有旁通管和旁通阀,从而导致EHR系统的体积和质量都较大。在有效改善EHR系统废热回收性能的同时,必须使系统的尺寸和质量最小化。非旁通系统回收来自废气的热量,对其废热回收性能进行设置,以确保在高发动机负荷下不超过散热器的冷却能力,从而防止整车动力系统过热。对于非旁通系统来说,在高发动机负荷或高冷却液温度条件下,减少回收热量及在低发动机负荷或低冷却液温度条件下增加回收热量是必不可少的。提出了一种能取代原有旁通阀机构的先进非旁通EHR系统,该系统采用的是能根据冷却液温度或发动机负荷自动限制回收热量的双层冷却液通道结构,可实现发动机预热阶段的有效废热回收及高发动机负荷或高冷却液温度条件下的有效散热。介绍了该先进非旁通EHR系统的基本结构。试验结果表明,该系统在冷起动阶段具有良好的废热回收性能,在发动机高负荷下具有良好的散热性能。
