Hydrogen(H_(2))is a promising renewable energy which finds wide applications as the world gears toward low-carbon ***,current H_(2) production via steam methane reforming of natural gas or gasification of coal are laden with high CO_(2) ***,methane(CH_(4))pyrolysis has emerged as a potential technology to generate low-carbon H_(2) and solid *** this review,the current state-of-art and recent progress of H_(2) production from CH_(4) pyrolysis are reviewed in *** such as funda-mental mechanism and chemistry involved,effect of process parameters on the conversion efficiency and reaction kinetics for various reaction media and catalysts are elucidated and critically ***-ature,among other factors,plays the most critical influence on the methane pyrolysis *** metal/salt could lower the operating temperature of methane pyrolysis to1000℃.Based on the reaction kinetics,metal-based cata-lysts were more efficient in lowering the activation energy of the reaction to 29.5-88 kJ/mol from that of uncatalyzed reaction(147-420.7 kJ/mol).Besides,the current techno-economic performance of the pro-cess reveals that the levelized cost of H_(2) is directly influenced by the sales price of carbon(by-product)generated,which could offset the overall ***,the main challenges of reactor design for efficient product separation and retrieval,as well as catalyst deactivation/poisoning need to be debottlenecked.

Load-sharing mechanism in timber-steel hybrid shear wall systems

The lateral performance of timber-steel hybrid shear wall systems with regard to the interaction between the steel frame and the infill wood shear wall was investigated in this paper. A numerical model for the timber-steel hybrid shear wall system was developed and verified against test results. Design parameters, such as the lateral infill-to-frame stiffness ratio and the arrangements of wood-steel bolted connections were studied using the numerical model. Some design recommendations were also proposed based on the parametric analysis. In the hybrid shear wall system, the infill wood wall was found to resist a major part of the lateral load within relatively small wall drifts, and then the steel frame provided more lateral resistance. Under seismic loads, the infill wood wall could significantly reduce the inter-story drift of the hybrid system, and a complementary effect between the infill wood wall and the steel frame was observed through different lateral load resisting mechanisms, which provided robustness to the hybrid shear wall systems.

Novel insights into the pathophysiology of varicocele and its association with reactive oxygen species and sperm DNA fragmentation

Varicocele has been associated with reduced male reproductive potential. With the advances in biomolecular techniques, it has been possible to better understand the mechanisms involved in testicular damage provoked by varicocele. Current evidence suggests the central role of reactive oxygen species （ROS） and the resultant oxidative stress （OS） in the pathogenesis of varicocele-associated male subfertility although the mechanisms have not yet been fully described and it is likely to be multifactorial. Excessive ROS is associated with sperm DNA fragmentation, which may mediate the clinical manifestation of poor sperm function and fertilization outcome related to varicocele. Testing of ROS/OS and DNA fragmentation has the potential to provide additional diagnostic and prognostic information compared to conventional semen analysis and may guide therapeutic management strategies in individual patient.

House price prediction is of utmost importance in forecasting residential property prices,particularly as the demand for high-quality housing continues to *** predictions have implications for real estate investors,financial institutions,urban planners,and ***,accurately predicting house prices is challenging due to the complex interplay of various influencing *** studies have primarily focused on basic property information,leaving room for further exploration of more intricate features,such as amenities,traffic,and social sentiments in the surrounding *** this paper,we propose a novel approach to house price prediction from a multi-source data fusion *** methodology involves analyzing house characteristics and incorporating factors from diverse aspects,including amenities,traffic,and *** validate our approach using a dataset of 28550 real-world transactions in Beijing,China,providing a comprehensive analysis of the drivers influencing house *** adopting a multi-source data fusion perspective and considering a wide range of influential factors,our approach offers valuable insights into house price *** findings from this study possess the capability to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of house price prediction models,benefiting stakeholders in the real estate market.

Hepatocellular Tumors:Immunohistochemical Analyses for Classification and Prognostication

Following the classification of hepatocellular nodules by the International Working Party in 1995 and further elaboration by the International Consensus Group for Hepatocellular Neoplasia in 2009, entities under the spectrum of hepatocellular nodules have been better characterized. Research work hence has been done to answer questions such as distinguishing high-grade dysplastic nodules from early hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), delineating the tumor cell origin of HCC, identifying its prognostic markers, and subtyping hepatocellular adenomas. As a result, a copious amount of data at immunohistochemical and molecular levels has emerged. A panel of immunohistochemical markers including glypican-3, heat shock protein 70 and glutamine synthetase has been found to be of use in the diagnosis of small, well differentiated hepatocellular tumors and particularly of HCC. The use of liver fatty acid binding protein (L-FABP), β-catenin, glutamine synthetase, serum amyloid protein and C-reactive protein is found to be helpful in the subtyping of hepatocellular adenomas. The role of tissue biomarkers for prognostication in HCC and the use of biomarkers in subclassifying HCC based on tumor cell origin are also discussed.

Test and simulation of full-scale self-centering beam-to-column connection

A new type of beam-to-column connection for steel moment flames, designated as a ＂self-centering connection,＂ is studied. In this connection, bolted top-and-seat angles, and post-tensioned （PT） high-strength steel strands running along the beam are used. The PT strands tie the beam flanges on the column flange to resist moment and provide self-centering force. After an earthquake, the connections have zero deformation, and can be restored to their original status by simply replacing the angles. Four full-scale connections were tested under cyclic loading. The strength, energy-dissipation capacity, hysteresis curve, as well as angles and PT strands behavior of the connections are investigated. A general FEM analysis program called ABAQUS 6.9 is adopted to model the four test specimens. The numerical and test results match very well. Both the test and analysis results suggest that：（1） the columns and beams remain elastic while the angles sustain plastic deformations for energy dissipation when the rotation of the beam related to the column equals 0.05 tad, （2） the energy dissipation capacity is enhanced when the thickness of the angle is increased, and （3） the number of PT strands has a significant influence on the behavior of the connections, whereas the distance between the strands is not as important to the performance of the connection.

Interleaving Guidance in Evolutionary Multi-Objective Optimization

In this paper, we propose a framework that uses localization for multi-objective optimization to simultaneously guide an evolutionary algorithm in both the decision and objective spaces. The localization is built using a limited number of adaptive spheres （local models） in the decision space. These spheres axe usually guided, using some direction information, in the decision space towards the areas with non-dominated solutions. We use a second mechanism to adjust the spheres to specialize on different parts of the Paxeto front by using a guided dominance technique in the objective space. Through this interleaved guidance in both spaces, the spheres will be guided towards different parts of the Paxeto front while also exploring the decision space efficiently. The experimental results showed good performance for the local models using this dual guidance, in comparison with their original version.

ON NUMBER OF LEAVES ANDBANDWIDTH OF TREES

Let B(G) denote the bandwidth of graph G. For any tree T, Ve(T) denote the set of leaves(venices of degree l) of T. Wang and Yao[5] obtained that for any tree T, B(T)≤ 「Ve(T) /2」and the bound is sharp. In this paper, we show that any tree may be imbedded into anothertree with the same number of leaves, and for this latter tree, the bound in the above inequalityis reached. In other words, the bound is reached in almost all trees. We also describe trees Sr,d,where d and r are integers and lIVe (Sr,d ) =(d+ 1) × dr- 1. Moreover, we will show that if d (≤2r)is large, the ratio of the bandwidth to the number of leaves of S..d will be very small.

Long-term survival outcome of laparoscopic liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma

Long-term survival is the most important outcome measurement of a curative oncological *** hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),the long-term disease-free and overall survival of laparoscopic liver resection(LLR)is shown to be non-inferior to the current standard of open liver resection(OLR).Some studies have reported a superior long-term oncological outcome in LLR when compared to *** has been argued that improvement of visualization and instrumentation and reduced operative blood loss and perioperative blood transfusion may contribute to reduced risk of postoperative tumor *** the other hand,since most of the comparative studies of the oncological outcomes of LLR and OLR for HCC are non-randomized,it remained inconclusive as to whether LLR confers additional survival benefit compared to *** the paucity of level 1 evidence,the practice of LLR for HCC has gained wide-spread acceptance due to the reproducible improvements in the perioperative outcomes and non-inferior oncological outcomes demonstrated by large-scaled,matched comparative ***-analyses of the outcomes of these studies by multiple systematic reviews have also returned noncontradictory *** the basis of a theoretical advantage of LLR over OLR in preventing tumor recurrence,the current review aims to dissect from the current meta-analyses and comparative studies any evidence of such superiority.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the top-ranking cancers worldwide and in Southeast *** high propensity for tumor recurrence,distant metastasis and chemoresistance remain major hurdles in the treatment of *** advances on genetics and genomics research,molecular targeted therapies are emerging as a hope for better disease *** the histological perspective,microscopic review of clinical samples has led to subclassification of HCC and establishment of new *** this review,latest understanding on macrotrabecular-massive HCC,steatohepatitic HCC,lymphocyte-rich HCC,scirrhous HCC,fibrolamellar carcinoma and combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma will be discussed,emphasizing on the clinical relevance of these pathological *** delineation of the histological,immunohistochemical,molecular and biological phenotypes of primary liver cancer would to further enhance an integrated morphological-molecular classification that better predicts clinical outcome and guides clinical management.
