Application of membrane filtration in sugar production is attractive because it can reduce the usage of chemicals,produce high-quality clarified juice,and obtain various high value-added ***,some technical problems,such as insufficient membrane performance,high sucrose loss in membrane retentate,severe membrane fouling,and incomplete cleaning protocols,limit its industrial *** order to facilitate the development of membrane technology for sugar production,this review summarizes recent progress on the applications of membrane filtration in different stages of sugar production as well as the integrated membrane processes for various ***,some important issues including membrane fouling,membrane cleaning,economic feasibility and engineering problems of the membrane-based sugar production process are ***,the existing challenges and future research prospects for the industrialization of this green technique are pointed out.

The interest in ionic liquids(IL) is motivated by its unique properties, such as negligible vapor pressure, thermal stability, wide electrochemical stability window, and tunability of properties. ILs have been highlighted as solvents for liquid-liquid extraction and liquid membrane separation. To further expand its application in separation field, the ionic liquid membranes(ILMs) and its separation technology have been proposed and developed rapidly. This paper is to give a comprehensive overview on the recent applications of ILMs for the separation of various compounds, including organic compounds, mixed gases, and metal ions. Firstly, ILMs was classified into supported ionic liquid membranes(SILMs) and quasi-solidified ionic liquid membranes(QSILMs) according to the immobilization method of ILs. Then, preparation methods of ILMs, membrane stability as well as applications of ILMs in the separation of various mixtures were reviewed. Followed this, transport mechanisms of gaseous mixtures and organic compounds were elucidated in order to better understand the separation process of ILMs. This tutorial review intends to not only offer an overview on the development of ILMs but also provide a guide for ILMs preparations and applications.

Zinc Oxide(ZnO)has been extensively applied as electron transport material(ETM)in perovskite solar cells(PSCs)since the emergence of ***,some chemisorbed oxygen species on the surface of ZnO can cause the degradation of CH3NH3+(MA^(+))based *** avoid the destructive effect of ZnO,a facile solution strategy was proposed to produce a ZnS shell around the ZnO nanorods arrays(ZnO-NRs),***@ZnS core-shell nanorods(ZnO-NRs@ZnS).The ZnO-NRs@ZnS cascade structure can not only facilitate carrier transport,but also enhance the stability of ZnO based PSCs.A power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 20.6%was finally yielded,which is the-state-of-the-art efficiency for PSCs with one-dimensional(1 D)ZnO electron transport materials(ETMs).Moreover,over 90%of the initial efficiency was retained for the unencapsulated device with ZnO-NRs@ZnS ETMs at 85℃for 500 h,demonstrating excellent *** work provides a simple and efficient avenue to simultaneously enhance the photovoltaic(PV)performance and stability of 1 D ZnO nanostructure-based PSCs.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of the SiC/Zr4 joints brazed with TiZrNiCu filler for nuclear application

Si C ceramic has been successfully joined to Zr4 alloy using Ti Zr Ni Cu filler within the temperature range1173 K–1263 K and 15 min holding time. The morphology of the Si C/Zr4 joints was investigated by SEM, and the phases in the joints were characterized by XRD and TEM. The results indicated that part of the Zr4 substrate dissolved into the molten filler during the brazing process, contributed to the increasing Zr content and the formation of Zr[Ti] solid solution in the joints. In addition, β-Ti phase was discovered in the brazing seam. This might be attributed to the existence of β-Ti stable elements, Cu and Ni. The interface characterization showed that Si C reacted with filler alloy during the brazing process, formed a(Zr, Ti)C reaction layer on Si C surface and Zr2 Si compound near Si C substrate. Finally, the mechanical properties of the joints, evaluated by a shear strength test, reached a maximum of 95 MPa at the brazing temperature of 1203 K.

Cyclic dimeric GMP(c-di-GMP)has emerged as the nucleotide second messenger regulating both development and antibiotic production in high-GC,Gram-positive ***,a diguanylate cyclase(DGC),CdgD,encoded by SCO5345 from the model strain Streptomyces coelicolor,was functionally identified and characterized to be involved in c-di-GMP synthesis through genetic and biochemical *** overexpression resulted in significantly reduced production of actinorhodin and undecylprodigiosin,as well as completely blocked sporulation or aerial mycelium formation on two different solid *** the cdgD-overexpression strain,intracellular c-di-GMP levels were 13-27-fold higher than those in the wild-type *** vitro enzymatic assay demonstrated that CdgD acts as a DGC,which could efficiently catalyze the synthesis of c-di-GMP from two GTP *** overproduction of cdgD in two industrial Streptomyces strains could similarly impair developmental transitions as well as antibiotic ***,our results combined with previously reported data clearly demonstrated that c-di-GMP-mediated signalling pathway plays a central and universal role in the life cycle as well as secondary metabolism in streptomycetes.

There is a lack of investigation into the biological characteristics and preoperative systemic therapy （PST） for occult breast cancer （OBC）. For this study, departmental records in Breast Disease Center of Peking University First Hospital from January 2008 to December 2015 were retrospectively reviewed to identify cases of OBC. Eleven cases were included, and all patients were female, with a median age of 56 （range： 29-75） years. The sensitivity of magnetic resonance imaging （MRD was I00%, and the false positive rate was 33.3%. Based on histologic analysis of the axillary node, 9 （81.8%） cases were grade 3, and 2 （18.2%） cases were grade 2; 4 （36.4%） cases were 〉10% estrogen receptor （ER） positive and 6 （54.5%） human epidermal growth receptor 2 （HER2） positive. Nine cases （81.8%） exhibited over 30% Ki67 expression. PST was performed in 5 of the 11 cases. The lymph node response rate was 100% （5/5）, but no complete remission was achieved. In conclusion, aggressive subtypes were predominant among the included cases, and PST should be considered for OBC treatment options.

The light absorption properties of semiconductor-based photocatalysts to a large extent determine the relevant catalytic *** strategies in broadening the light absorption range are usually accompanied with unfavorable changes in redox ability and dynamics of photoinduced species that would confuse the comprehensive *** this work,we propose a nontrivial excitonic transition regulation strategy for gaining sub-bandgap light absorption in low-dimensional semiconductor-based *** bismuth oxybromide(BiOBr)as a model system,we highlight that the light absorption cut-off edge could be effectively extended up to 500 nm by introducing Bi *** the basis of theoretical simulations and spectroscopic analyses,we attributed the broadening of light absorption to the promotion of excitonic transition that is generally forbidden in pristine BiOBr system,associated with Bi-vacancy-induced excited-state symmetry *** addition,Bi vacancy was demonstrated to implement negligible effects on other photoexcitation properties like excited-state energy-level profiles and *** from these features,the defective sample exhibits a notable advantage in gaining visible-light-driven photocatalytic reactions.
