Degradation of Rhodamine B by MnFe-LDH/PMS/O_(3) three-phase catalytic system: performance, mechanism and ecotoxicity studies

This study developed a novel MnFe-LDH/PMS/O3 three-phase catalytic system to degrade the organic dye RhB, which was used to address the drawbacks of persulfate oxidation and ozonation techniques. The structure, ionic and elemental composition, specific surface area, and magnetic properties of the LDHs were investigated using a variety of physicochemical characterization tools. The results showed that MnFe-LDH had a large specific surface area, a rich crystalline phase composition, and a functional group structure. The RhB degradation rate of MnFe-LDH/PMS/O3 was 0.34 min−1, which was much higher than that of other comparative systems. RhB could be completely degraded in 10 min after optimization and had a significant effect on TOC removal. The system was found to be effective over a wide pH range. Common anions were largely unaffected and humic acid acted as an inhibitor. At the same time, the system had generally effective degradation performance for different dyes. Combined with quenching experiments and EPR, it was found that SO4•−, •OH, O_(2)•−, and 1O_(2) all participated in the reaction, and •OH contributed more. The degradation pathway of RhB was derived by LC-MS, and the T.E.S.T. evaluation found that the toxicity of the intermediate product was significantly reduced. Finally, the stability and availability of LDHs were verified using cycling experiments and metal ion leaching. This work provides a theoretical basis and data support for the synergistic catalysis of PMS/O3 and the deep treatment of dye wastewater.

BACKGROUND Neuroendocrine carcinoma(NEC)of the extrahepatic bile duct is very rare,and the treatment and prognosis are ***,we report the case of a middleaged female with primary large cell NEC(LCNEC)of the common hepatic duct combined with distal cholangiocarcinoma(dCCA).Additionally,after a review of the relevant literature,we summarize and compare mixed neuroendocrine-nonneuroendocrine neoplasm(minEN)and pure NEC to provide a reference for selecting the appropriate treatment and predicting the prognosis of this rare *** SUMMARY A 62-year-old female presented to the hospital due to recurrent abdominal pain for 2 *** examination showed mild tenderness in the upper abdomen and a positive Courvoisier *** tests showed elevated liver transaminase and carbohydrate antigen 199 *** examination revealed node dissection was performed,and hepatic duct tumours were unexpectedly found during *** suggested poorly differentiated LCNEC(approximately 0.5 cm×0.5 cm×0.4 cm),Ki-67(50%),synaptophysin+,and chromogranin A+.dCCA pathology suggested moderately differentiated *** patient eventually developed lymph node metastasis in the liver,bone,peritoneum,and abdominal cavity and died 24 months after *** sequencing methods were used to compare gene mutations in the two primary bile duct *** The prognosis of minEN and pure NEC alone is different,and the selection of treatment options needs to be differentiated.

Effect of Ball Milling Time on Microstructure and Hydrogen Storage Properties of Nd_(5)Mg_(41)Ni Alloy

Mg-based alloys must be dehydrogenated at high pressure and temperatures, limiting their practical application. In this paper, Nd_(5)Mg_(41)Ni alloy was prepared by vacuum melting, and the as-cast alloy was ball milled for 5 h, 10 h, 15 h, and 20 h. The effect of ball milling time on the microstructure and hydrogen storage properties of the alloy was systematically studied. The alloy comprises Nd_(5)Mg_(41), NdMg_(12), NdMg_(3), and Mg_(2)Ni phases. The Nd_(5)Mg_(41)Ni alloy milling for 10 h can reach 95% of the saturated hydrogen absorption at 553 K by 40 s, and the alloy can desorb hydrogen only by 20 min. The dehydrogenation activation energy is only 99.9 kJ/mol H_(2). Ball milling makes the alloy produce many nanocrystalline and amorphous structures. The nano-grain boundary provides a channel for the diffusion of hydrogen atoms, and the high energy at the grain boundary provides energy for the phase deformation nucleus. Ball milling leads to the refinement of alloy particles and shortens the diffusion distance of hydrogen atoms to the interior of alloy particles. Defects such as twins and dislocations generated by milling provide energy for the phase deformation nucleus during the hydrogen absorption and desorption.

Dimensional regulation in polyoxometalates is an effective strategy during the design and synthesis of polyoxometalates-based high proton conductors,but it is not available to ***,the precise regulation of dimensionality has been realized in an unprecedented gigantic molybdenum blue wheel family featuring pentagonal{(W)Mo5}motifs through optimizing the molar ratio of Mo/W,including[Gd_(2)Mo_(124)W_(14)O_(422)(H_(2)O)62]38-(0D-{Mo_(124)W_(14)},1),[Mo_(126)W_(14)O441(H_(2)O)51]^(70-)(1D-{Mo_(126)W_(14)}n,2),and[Mo_(124)W_(14)O_(430)(H_(2)O)50]60-(2D-{Mo_(124)W_(14)}n,3).Such important{(W)Mo5}structural motif brings new reactivity into gigantic Mo blue *** are different numbers and sites of{Mo2}defects in each wheel-shaped monomer in 1-3,which leads to the monomers of 2 and 3 to form 1D and 2D architectures via Mo-O-Mo covalent bonds driven by{Mo2}-mediated H_(2)O ligands substitution process,respectively,thus achieving the controllable dimensional *** expected,the proton conductivity of 3 is 10 times higher than that of 1 and 1.7 times higher than that of *** continuous proton hopping sites in 2D network are responsible for the enhanced proton conductivity with lower activation *** study highlights that this dimensional regulation approach remains great potential in preparing polyoxometalates-based high proton conductive materials.

L-theanine/α-Ketoglutarate/Nrf2 axis promotes exercise-mediated amelioration of NASH in mice

L-Theanine (LTA) is a non-protein amino acid mainly found in tea plants with many beneficial effects. Exercise exerts a wide range of benefits in metabolic health. Here， we show that exercise or gastric lavage intervention on mice with LTA improves diet-induced NASH in mice. Meanwhile， combinatory therapy shows that exercise and LTA synergistically improve obesity-related metabolic disorders and NASH phenotypes， including hepatic steatosis， inflammation， cell death and oxidative stress. In vivo studies indicate that LTA inhibits free fatty acid (FFA)-induced hepatocyte injury， including steatosis， oxidative stress and apoptosis. Knockdown of Nrf2 blunts the role of LTA in inhibiting FFA-induced hepatocyte oxidative stress and dysfunction. Mechanistically， LTA increases the α-ketoglutarate (α-KG) level in hepatocytes， which increases the transcription of Nrf2 by inducing active DNA demethylation on its promoter. Moreover， LTA promote the above α-KG/Nrf2 axis in synergy with exercise， thereby more efficiently inhibiting hepatic oxidative stress and ameliorating diet-induced NASH in mice. Our results suggest that， through promoting the α-KG/Nrf2 axis-mediated anti-oxidative pathway， the combination of LTA and exercise may provide an effective measure for the prevention and control of NASH.

Objective This study aimed to understand the epidemic status and phylogenetic relationships of rotavirus group A(RVA)in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong Province,*** This study included individuals aged 28 days–85 years.A total of 706 stool samples from patients with acute gastroenteritis collected between January 2019 and January 2020 were analyzed for 17 causative pathogens,including RVA,using a Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel,followed by genotyping,virus isolation,and complete sequencing to assess the genetic diversity of *** The overall RVA infection rate was 14.59%(103/706),with an irregular epidemiological *** proportion of co-infection with RVA and other pathogens was 39.81%(41/103).Acute gastroenteritis is highly prevalent in young children aged 0–1 year,and RVA is the key pathogen circulating in patients 6–10 months of age with diarrhea.G9P[8](58.25%,60/103)was found to be the predominant genotype in the RVA strains,and the 41 RVA-positive strains that were successfully sequenced belonged to three different RVA genotypes in the phylogenetic *** analysis showed that gene reassortment events,selection pressure,codon usage bias,gene polymorphism,and post-translational modifications(PTMs)occurred in the G9P[8]and G3P[8]*** This study provides molecular evidence of RVA prevalence in the Pearl River Delta region of China,further enriching the existing information on its genetics and evolutionary characteristics and suggesting the emergence of genetic *** the surveillance of genotypic changes and gene reassortment in RVA strains is essential for further research and a better understanding of strain variations for further vaccine development.

BACKGROUND Pulmonary hypertension is a serious complication in the treatment of maintenance hemodialysis patients,which seriously affects the quality of life of patients and threatens their life ***,treatment and improvement of pulmonary hypertension are of great significance to improve the quality of life of *** To investigate the intervention and control of pedal-powered bicycle in maintaining quality of life and pulmonary hypertension in hemodialysis *** 73 patients with maintenance hemadialysis combined with pulmonary arterial hypertension at a hemodialysis center in a certain hospital from May 2021 to May 2022 are *** are divided into two groups,37 cases in the control group(group C)and 36 cases in the intervention group(group I).Patients are divided into two groups,group C is treated with oral administration of betaglandin sodium combined with routine nursing *** on group C,group I conducts power cycling *** After treatment,group I patients had higher muscle strength,36-Item Short Form Health Survey scores,and Kidney Disease Targets Areas scores;The 6-minute walk distance test index level was higher and the Borg score was lower;The group I had lower systolic blood pressure,greater vital capacity,higher positive emotion,lower systolic pulmonary artery pressure index level,higher arterial partial oxygen pressure level,lower pulmonary vascular resistance index level,and higher blood oxygen saturation level[158.91±11.89 vs 152.56±12.81,1795.01±603.18 vs 1907.20±574.15,24.00(22.00,29.00)vs 24.00(22.00,28.00),P<0.001].CONCLUSION Aerobic exercise combined with Western medicine treatment can effectively improve patients'pulmonary hypertension,alleviate their negative emotions,and enable them to achieve a higher level of quality of life.
