A 10-yr Rainfall and Cloud-to-Ground Lightning Climatology over Coastal and Inland Regions of Guangdong,China during the Pre-Summer Rainy Season

A comparative analysis of the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of rainfall and lightning in coastal and inland areas of Guangdong Province of China during the pre-summer rainy season(PSRS)from 2008 to 2017 reveals distinct *** the inland target region(ITR),rainfall is concentrated in the central and eastern mountainous *** exhibits a bimodal diurnal variation,with peaks in the afternoon and *** afternoon peak becomes more pronounced during the post-monsoon-onset period because of the increased rainfall ***,in the coastal target region(CTR),rainfall concentrates around mountainous ***,CTR’s rainfall is weaker than ITR’s during the pre-monsoon-onset period,primarily associated with the lower-level moisture outflow in CTR,but it strengthens significantly during the post-monsoon-onset period owing to enhanced moisture ***’s diurnal rainfall variation transitions from bimodal to a single broad peak during the post-monsoon-onset period,influenced by changes in both rainfall frequency and *** contrast to rainfall,the spatiotemporal distribution of lightning centers remains relatively stable during the *** strongest center is located over ITR’s plains west of the rainfall center,with a secondary center in the western plains of *** activity significantly increases during the post-monsoon-onset period,particularly in ITR,primarily because of the increased lightning *** diurnal lightning flash density and lightning hours show a single afternoon peak in the two target regions,and the timing of the peak in ITR is approximately two hours later than in *** circulation analysis indicates that during early morning,the lower atmosphere is nearly neutral in *** advected warm,moist,unstable airflow,combined with topography,favors convection *** the afternoon,solar radiation increases thermal instability,further enhancing the convection frequency and in

Effect of Single-walled Carbon Nanotubes on Cellulose Phenylcarbamate Chiral Stationary Phases

Single-walled carbon nanotubes（SWNTs） have a high adsorption ability and nanoscale interactions. Cellulose trisphenylcarbamates possess high enantioseparation ability in high-performance liquid chromatography（HPLC）. Single-walled carbon nanotubes mixed with cellulose trisphenylcarbamate are coated on the silica gel as chiral stationary phases and higher enantioseparation factors are obtained. After a single-walled carbon nanotube is linked to the 6-pesition of cellulose 2,3-bisphenylcarbamate, its enantioseparation resolution increases compared to that of the cellulose trisphenylcarbamate. It is the first time that SWNTs have been applied to enantioseparation. The results indicate that the single-walled carbon nanotubes are good promoters of chiral recognition. This method can be used to improve the enantioseparation efficiency of the polysaccharide chiral stationary phases.

Low patency ratio of small-diameter vascular grafts remains a major challenge due to the occurrence of thrombosis formation and intimal hyperplasia after *** developing the functional coating with release of bioactive molecules on the surface of small-diameter vascular grafts are reported as an effective strategy to improve their patency ratios,it is still difficult for current functional coatings cooperating with spatiotemporal control of bioactive molecules release to mimic the sequential requirements for antithrombogenicity and ***,on basis of 3D-printed polyelectrolyte-based vascular grafts,a biologically inspired release system with sequential release in spatiotemporal coordination of dual molecules through an electrostatic self-assembly was first described.A series of tubes with tunable diameters were initially fabricated by a coaxial extrusion printing method with customized nozzles,in which a polyelectrolyte ink containing of ε-polylysine and sodium alginate was ***,dual bioactive molecules,heparin with negative charges and Tyr-Ile-Gly-Ser-Arg(YIGSR)peptide with positive charges were layer-by-layer assembled onto the surface of these 3D-printed *** to the electrostatic interaction,the sequential release of heparin and YIGSR was demonstrated and could construct a dynamic microenvironment that was thus conducive to the antithrombogenicity and *** study opens a new avenue to fabricate a small-diameter vascular graft with a biologically inspired release system based on electrostatic interaction,revealing a huge potential for development of small-diameter artificial vascular grafts with good patency.

A new alkylene dihydrofuran glycoside（1） was isolated from the root bark ofMorus alba L.,along with moracin M-3′-O-β-D-glucopyranoside （2）,and moracin M-6,3′-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside（3）.Compound 1 was identified as 2-methylene-3-methoxy-2, 5-dihydrofuran-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic data including 1D and 2D NMR spectral *** addition,the antioxidant activity of 1 was evaluated using the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl（DPPH） and 2,2′-azinobis- 3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid（ABTS） *** IC_（50） values were 2.49 and 0.45 mg/mL,respectively.

Fractal Design Boosts Extrusion-Based 3D Printing of Bone-Mimicking Radial-Gradient Scaffolds

Although extrusion-based three-dimensional(EB-3D)printing technique has been widely used in the complex fabrication of bone tissue-engineered scaffolds,a natural bone-like radial-gradient scaffold by this processing method is of huge challenge and still *** by a typical fractal structure of Koch snowflake,for the first time,a fractal-like porous scaffold with a controllable hierarchical gradient in the radial direction is presented via fractal design and then implemented by EB-3D *** radial-gradient structure successfully mimics the radially gradual decrease in porosity of natural bone from cancellous bone to cortical ***,we create a design-to-fabrication workflow with embedding the graded data on basis of fractal design into digital processing to instruct the extrusion process of fractal-like ***,by a combination of suitable extruded inks,a series of bone-mimicking scaffolds with a 3-iteration fractal-like structure are fabricated to demonstrate their superiority,including radial porosity,mechanical property,and *** study showcases a robust strategy to overcome the limitations of conventional EB-3D printers for the design and fabrication of functionally graded scaffolds,showing great potential in bone tissue engineering.

The discovery of novel catalysis modes to generate a significant increase in structural complexity from readily available reactants is a fundamental goal in modern organic ***,we report a photoinduced palladium-catalyzed hydrogen atom transfer triggered 1,2-difunctionalization of conjugated *** the employment of exogeneous photosensitizers and external oxidants,the cascade reaction realized the integration of remote functionalization of various C(sp^(3))-H bonds and selective difunctionalization of 1,3-dienes with 100% atom efficiency,allowing for the synthesis of structurally diverse amides with up to 90% *** the prevalence of amides in pharmaceuticals and natural products,the current protocol has provided an efficient means to access highly functionalized amides from readily available carboxylic acid derivatives and 1,3-dienes.

Fluorine in drinking water and urine in the urban and rural areas of northwestern China——Its determination by a fluoride ion selective electrode

In this study, the author determined fluorine in drinking water and urine of residents who are divided into four age groups (5, 12, 35-44, 65-74 aged), living in Huangling City, Shaanxi Province and at 6 villages of Qin'an County, Gansu Province, ***. Some residents are living in fluorine exposure areas. A total of 929 residents (463 females and 466 males) involved in the study were selected from 7 tap water systems. Drinking water samples were collected from each area and analyzed using the fluoride ion-selective method. No positive correlation relationship was found between fluorine concentrations in urine and those in drinking water in the area where the fluorine concentrations of drinking water are within the range of 1-2 mg/L. The fluorine absorbed by resistents of different ages is different in amount. With the same concentrations of fluorine in drinking water, more fluorine would be absorbed by young residents than old residents. No difference can be seen in absorption amount of fluorine among different genders.

Drug resistance is a major obstacle in the development of effective colorectal cancer(CRC)*** study aimed to explore the reversal abilities of Jiedu Sangen decoction(JSD)on the 5-fluorouracil(5-FU)resistance and its underlying molecular *** changes in HIF-1 of CRC tissues were firstly revealed by bioinformatics ***,cell viabilities of JSD and 5-FU treatments on 5-FU resistant human colon cancer cells(HCT-8/5-FU)were *** of phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI3K),protein kinase B(AKT)/p-AKT,hypoxia-inducible factor 1(HIF-1α),as well as glycolysis related proteins such as L-lactate dehydrogenase A(LDHA),Glucose transporter type 1(Glut1),Hexokinase 2(HKII),and cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase(Caspase)family members in HCT-8/5-FU cells,HIF-1αsilenced HCT-8/5-FU cells and tumor tissues were detected by western ***-1αwas found over expressed in CRC tissues according to public available datasets in *** inhibition rates of HCT-8/5-FU cells were increased along with the increase of JSD *** caused down-regulated HIF-1α,PI3K,AKT/p-AKT,HKII and Glut1,as well as up-regulated Caspase3 and Caspase9 in HCT-8/5-FU cells and tumor *** HIF-1αsilenced HCT-8/5-FU cells,synergistic group showed significantly reduced expression levels of PI3K,AKT,***,up-regulated expressions of Caspase6 and Caspase7 were *** combined with 5-FU also exhibited obvious inhibitory efficiency on tumor growth in *** may reverse 5-FU resistance by suppressing glycolysis via PI3K/AKT/HIF-1αsignaling pathway,thereby inhibiting glycolysis and induce apoptosis to enhance anti-tumor activity.
