Parkinson’s disease(PD)is a complicated neurodegenerative disease,characterized by the accumulation ofα-synuclein(α-syn)in Lewy bodies and neurites,and massive loss of midbrain dopamine *** evidence suggests that gut microbiota and microbial metabolites are involved in the development of *** these,short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs),the most abundant microbial metabolites,have been proven to play a key role in brain-gut *** this review,we analyze the role of SCFAs in the pathology of PD from multiple dimensions and summarize the alterations of SCFAs in PD patients as well as their correlation with motor and non-motor *** research should focus on further elucidating the role of SCFAs in neuroinflammation,as well as developing novel strategies employing SCFAs and their derivatives to treat PD.

Effects of thermally pretreated temperature on bio-hydrogen production from sewage sludge

Hydrogen can be obtained by anaerobic fermentation of sewage sludge. Therefore, in this paper the effects of thermally pretreated temperatures on hydrogen production from sewage sludge were investigated under different pre-treatment conditions. In the thermal pretreatment, some microbial matters of sludge were converted into soluble matters from insoluble ones. As a result, the suspended solid（SS） and volatile suspended solid（VSS） of sludge decreased and the concentration of soluble COD（SCOD） increased, including soluble carbohydrates and proteins. The experimental results showed that all of those pretreated sludge could produce hydrogen by anaerobic fermentation and the hydrogen yields under the temperatures of 121℃ and 50℃ were 12.23 ml/g VS（most） and 1.17 ml/g VS （least）, respectively. It illuminated that the hydrogen yield of sludge was affected by the thermally pretreated temperatures. Additionally, the endurance of high hydrogen yield depended on the translation of microbial matters and inhibition of methanogens in the sludge. The temperatures of 100℃ and 121℃ （treated time, 30 min） could kill or inhibit completely the methanogens while the others could not. To produce hydrogen and save energy, 100℃ was chosen as the optimal temperature for thermal pretrcatment. The composition changes in liquid phase in the fermentation process were also discussed. The SCOD of sludge increased, which was affected by the pretreatment temperature. The production of volatile fatty acids in the anaerobic fermentation increased with the pretreatment temperature.

In this study,a novel waterborne polyurethane(WPU)with azobenzene-containing(azo-containing)pendant groups was synthesized by isophorone diisocyanate,long-chain diol of polycaprolactone,2-ethyl-2-methyl-butanoic acid(2,2-dimethylolpropionic acid),10-(4-(phenyldiazenyl)phenoxy)decyl-3-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-2-methylpropanoate,and N,N-diethyl-ethanamine(triethylamine).Moreover,the influence of ultraviolet and visible(UV-Vis)light irradiation on the viscoelasticity of azo-containing WPU film in terms of the reversible trans-cis photoisomerization of azo-containing pendant groups was investigated by UV-Vis light spectroscopy,atomic force microscopy,and dynamic thermomechanical *** results revealed that the adhesion of azo-containing WPU with single crystal silicon atomic force microscope probe was about 13 n N when irradiated by 450 nm Vis light for 60 s at 25°***,the adhesion increased to 82 n N after irradiation with 365 nm UV light for 60 s at 25°*** addition,the azo-containing WPU presented a photo-induced reversible transition of tensile modulus and tanδin the range from about 2 MPa to 22 MPa and 6000 to 0.35 with UV-Vis light cyclic irradiation for 120 s at 25°C,respectively.

Symbolic execution is an effective way of systematically exploring the search space of a program,and is often used for automatic software testing and bug *** program to be analyzed is usually compiled into a binary or an intermediate representation,on which symbolic execution is carried *** this process,compiler optimizations influence the effectiveness and efficiency of symbolic ***,to the best of our knowledge,there exists no work on compiler optimization recommendation for symbolic execution with respect to(w.r.t.)modified condition/decision coverage(MC/DC),which is an important testing coverage criterion widely used for mission-critical *** study describes our use of a state-of-the-art symbolic execution tool to carry out extensive experiments to study the impact of compiler optimizations on symbolic execution ***/*** results indicate that instruction combining(IC)optimization is the important and dominant optimization for symbolic execution ***/*** designed and implemented a support vector machine based optimization recommendation method ***(denoted as auto).The experiments on two standard benchmarks(Coreutils and NECLA)showed that auto achieves the best MC/DC on 67.47%of Coreutils programs and 78.26%of NECLA programs.

Empirical research is playing a significant role in software engineering （SE）, and it has been applied to evaluate software artifacts and technologies. There have been a great number of empirical research articles published recently. There is also a large research community in empirical software engineering （ESE）. In this paper, we identify both the overall landscape and detailed implementations of ESE, and investigate frequently applied empirical methods, targeted research purposes, used data sources, and applied data processing approaches and tools in ESE. The aim is to identify new trends and obtain interesting observations of empirical software engineering across different sub-fields of software engineering. We conduct a mapping study on 538 selected articles from January 2013 to November 2017, with four research questions. We observe that the trend of applying empirical methods in software engineering is continuously increasing and the most commonly applied methods are experiment, case study and survey. Moreover, open source projects are the most frequently used data sources. We also observe that most of researchers have paid attention to the validity and the possibility to replicate their studies. These observations are carefully analyzed and presented as carefully designed diagrams. We also reveal shortcomings and demanded knowledge/strategies in ESE and propose recommendations for researchers.

Application of Computed Tomography Virtual Noncontrast Spectral Imaging in Evaluation of Hepatic Metastases： A Preliminary Study

Objective：The objective was to qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate hepatic metastases using computed tomography （CT） virtual noncontrast （VNC） spectral imaging in a retrospective ***：Forty hepatic metastases patients underwent CT scans including the conventional true noncontrast （TNC） and the tri-phasic contrast-enhanced dual energy spectral scans in the hepatic arterial,portal venous,and equilibrium *** tri-phasic spectral CT images were used to obtain three groups of VNC images including in the arterial （VNCa）,venous （VNCv）,and equilibrium （VNCe） phase by the material decomposition process using water and iodine as a base material *** image quality and the contrast-to-noise ratio （CNR） of metastasis of the four groups were compared with ANOVA *** metastasis detection rates with the four nonenhanced image groups were calculated and compared using the Chisquare ***：There were no significant differences in image quality among TNC,VNCa and VNCv images （P 〉 0.05）.The quality of VNCe images was significantly worse than that of other three groups （P 〈 0.05）.The mean CNR of metastasis in the TNC and VNCs images was 1.86,2.42,1.92,and 1.94,respectively; the mean CNR of metastasis in VNCa images was significantly higher than that in other three groups （P 〈 0.05）,while no statistically significant difference was observed among VNCv,VNCe and TNC images （P 〉 0.05）.The metastasis detection rate of the four nonenhanced groups with no statistically significant difference （P 〉 0.05）.Conclusions：The quality of VNCa and VNCv images is identical to that of TNC images,and the metastasis detection rate in VNC images is similar to that in TNC *** images obtained from arterial phase show metastases more ***,VNCa imaging may be a surrogate to TNC imaging in hepatic metastasis diagnosis.
