The fertility of sows mainly depends on the embryo losses during gestation and the survival rate of the postfarrowing *** selection of highly-prolific sows has been mainly focused on the selection of genotypes with high ovulatory ***,in the early-and post-implantation stages,the rate of embryo losses was increased with the increase of *** the various factors,placental growth and development is the vital determinant for fetal survival,growth,and *** the potential survival of fetuses with deficient placental development,their life-conditions and growth can be damaged by a process termed intrauterine growth retardation(IUGR).The newborn piglets affected by IUGR are prone to increased morbidity and mortality rates;meanwhile,the growth,health and welfare of the surviving piglets will remain hampered by these conditions,with a tendency to exacerbate with *** amino acids such as glycine,proline,and arginine continue to increase with the development of placenta,which are not only essential to placental growth(including vascular growth)and development,but can also be used as substrates for the production of glutathione,polyamines and nitric oxide to benefit placental function in many ***,the exact regulation mechanism of these amino acids in placental function has not yet been *** this review,we provide evidence from literature and our own work for the role and mechanism of dietary functional amino acids during pregnancy in regulating the placental functional response to fetal loss and birth weight of *** review will provide novel insights into the response of nutritionally nonessential amino acids(glycine and proline)to placental development as well as feasible strategies to enhance the fertility of sows.

Remote sensing(RS) technologies provide robust techniques for quantifying net primary productivity(NPP) which is a key component of ecosystem production management. Applying RS, the confounding effects of carbon consumed by livestock grazing were neglected by previous studies, which created uncertainties and underestimation of NPP for the grazed lands. The grasslands in Xinjiang were selected as a case study to improve the RS based NPP estimation. A defoliation formulation model(DFM) based on RS is developed to evaluate the extent of underestimated NPP between 1982 and 2011. The estimates were then used to examine the spatiotemporal patterns of the calculated NPP. Results show that average annual underestimated NPP was 55.74 gC·m^(-2)yr^(-1) over the time period understudied, accounting for 29.06% of the total NPP for the Xinjiang grasslands. The spatial distribution of underestimated NPP is related to both grazing intensity and time. Data for the Xinjiang grasslands show that the average annual NPP was 179.41 gC·m^(-2)yr^(-1), the annual NPP with an increasing trend was observed at a rate of 1.04 gC·m^(-2)yr^(-1) between 1982 and 2011. The spatial distribution of NPP reveals distinct variations from high to low encompassing the geolocations of the Tianshan Mountains, northern and southern Xinjiang Province and corresponding with mid-mountain meadow, typical grassland, desert grassland, alpine meadow, and saline meadow grassland types. This study contributes to improving RS-based NPP estimations for grazed land and provides a more accurate data to support the scientific management of fragile grassland ecosystems in Xinjiang.

Diabetic kidney disease(DKD)is a major microvascular complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Monitoring the early diagnostic period and disease progression plays a crucial role in treating *** this study,to comprehensively elucidate the molecular characteristics of urinary proteins and urinary exosome proteins in type 2 DKD,we performed large-scale urinary proteomics(n=144)and urinary exosome proteomics(n=44)analyses on T2DM patients with albuminuria in varying *** dynamics analysis of the urinary and exosome proteomes in our study provides a valuable resource for discovering potential urinary biomarkers in patients with DKD.A series of potential biomarkers,such as SERPINA1 and transferrin(TF),were detected and validated to be used for DKD diagnosis or disease *** results of our study comprehensively elucidated the changes in the urinary proteome and revealed several potential biomarkers reflecting the progression of DKD,which provide a reference for DKD biomarker screening.

The experimental muon source on China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS) is expected to be a high intensity(105μ+/s) surface muon source with a small beam spot of 4-cm *** a practical application of this muon source,we are devoting to develop the first pulsed μSR spectrometer in *** this paper,the performance of plastic scintillators in the μSR spectrometer is studied by Monte Carlo *** processes such as positron energy deposition,scintillation photons production,light propagation and photon-electron conversion are carefully *** to the results,an optimal dimension of the plastic scintillator is proposed using for our future spectrometer,which has a long-strip shape with the dimension variation range of 50–60 mm length,5–8 mm height,and 10–12 mm ***,we can build a spectrometer with a count rate up to 104e+/s by 100–120 forward and backward segmental detectors in *** simulation could serve as an important guide for spectrometer construction.
