An Al/SiO_(2)/p-Si(MOS)capacitor with a thick(826Å)interfacial oxide layer(SiO_(2))which is formed by using the thermal oxidation method is fabricated to investigate both frequency and applied bias voltage dependences of real and imaginary parts of dielectric constant(ϵ'andϵ")and electric modulus(M'and M"),loss tangent(tanδ)and ac electrical conductivity(σ_(ac))in a wide frequency range from 1 kHz to 1 MHz at room *** dielectric properties of the MOS capacitor are obtained using the forward and reverse bias capacitance-voltage(C–V)and conductance-voltage(G/ω–V)measurements in the applied bias voltage range 1.4–5.6 *** values ofϵ',ϵ",tanδ,M',M"and σ_(ac) are found to be strong functions of frequency and applied bias voltage in the depletion region due to excess capacitance Cex and conductance G_(ex)/ω especially at low *** experimental results show that the interfacial polarization can occur at low frequencies more easily,consequently contributing to the dispersion inϵ',ϵ",tanδ,M',M"and σ_(ac) values of the MOS *** other reason for dispersion in the dielectric properties may be attributed to a particular density distribution of interface states(Nss)localized at the Si/SiO_(2) interface,as well as space charge carriers and inhomogeneity of interfacial oxide *** increase in conductivity with increasing frequency can be attributed to the hopping type conduction *** can be concluded that theϵ',ϵ",tanδ,M',M"and σ_(ac) values of the Al/SiO_(2)/p-Si(MOS)capacitor are strongly dependent on both the frequency and applied bias voltage especially in the depletion region.

Background:Fever of unknown origin(FUO)in developing countries is an important dilemma and further research is needed to elucidate the infectious causes of ***:A multi-center study for infectious causes of FUO in lower middle-income countries(LMIC)and lowincome countries(LIC)was conducted between January 1,2018 and January 1,*** total,15 participating centers from seven different countries provided the data,which were collected through the Infectious DiseasesInternational Research Initiative *** adult patients with confirmed infection as the cause of FUO were included in the *** severity parameters were quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(qSOFA)≥2,intensive care unit(ICU)admission,vasopressor use,and invasive mechanical ventilation(IMV).Results:A total of 160 patients with infectious FUO were included in the ***,148(92.5%)patients had community-acquired infections and 12(7.5%)had hospital-acquired *** most common infectious syndromes were tuberculosis(TB)(n=27,16.9%),infective endocarditis(n=25,15.6%),malaria(n=21,13.1%),brucellosis(n=15,9.4%),and typhoid fever(n=9,5.6%).Plasmodium falciparum,Mycobacterium tuberculosis,Brucellae,Staphylococcus aureus,Salmonella typhi,and Rickettsiae were the leading infectious agents in this study.A total of 56(35.0%)cases had invasive procedures for *** mean qSOFA score was 0.76±0.94{median(interquartile range[IQR]):0(0–1)}.ICU admission(n=26,16.2%),vasopressor use(n=14,8.8%),and IMV(n=10,6.3%)were not ***,38(23.8%)patients had at least one of the severity *** mortality rate was 15(9.4%),and the mortality was attributable to the infection causing FUO in 12(7.5%)***:In LMIC and LIC,tuberculosis and cardiac infections were the most severe and the leading infections causing FUO.

Surface-modified rice husk ash was used as an inorganic support material for immobilization of Candida antarctica lipase B.(3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane was used for surface *** of CALB was performed via both physical adsorption and *** synthesis was carried out by using these immobilized enzymes,free enzyme and Novozyme 435®.Molecular weight distribution of polymer samples was obtained by gel permeation chromatography(GPC)and chain structures of the polymer samples were observed by hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance(1H-NMR).The highest monomer conversion is generally obtained by using cross-linked enzyme,around 90%.PDI values for all polymer samples were approximately 1.5 which can be considered as *** general cross-linked enzymes were better than physically adsorbed enzymes in terms of average molecular *** can be concluded that PCL can be synthesized with these immobilized enzymes with high molecular weight and low PDI values.

We have reported a first principles study of structural, mechanical, electronic, and thermoelectric properties of the monoclinic ternary thallium chalcogenes Tl2MQ3(M = Zr, Hf;Q = S, Se, Te). The electronic band structure calculations confirm that all compounds exhibit semiconductor character. Especially, Tl2ZrTe3 and Tl2HfTe3 can be good candidates for thermoelectric materials, having narrow band gaps of 0.169 eV and 0.21 eV, respectively. All of the compounds are soft and brittle according to the second-order elastic constant calculations. Low Debye temperatures also support the softness. We have obtained the transport properties of the compounds by using rigid band and constant relaxation time approximations in the context of Boltzmann transport theory. The results show that the compounds could be considered for room temperature thermoelectric applications(ZT ~ 0.9).

Kinases,representing almost 500 proteins in the human genome,are responsible for catalyzing the phosphorylation reaction of amino acid residues at their *** the largest family of kinases,the protein tyrosine kinases(PTKs)have roles in controlling the essential cellular activities,and their deregulation is generally related to pathologic *** recent efforts on identifying their signal transducer or mediator role in cellular signaling revealed the interaction of PTKs with numerous enzymes of different classes,such as Ser/Thr kinases(STKs),glutathione transferases(GSTs),and receptor tyrosine kinases(RTKs).In either regulation or enhancing the signaling,PTKs are determined in close interaction with these enzymes,under specific cellular conditions,such as oxidative stress and *** this concept,intensive research on thiol metabolizing enzymes recently showed their involvement in the physiologic functions in cellular signaling besides their well known traditional role in antioxidant *** shared signaling components between PTK and GST family enzymes will be discussed in depth in this research review to evaluate the results of recent studies important in drug targeting for therapeutic intervention,such as cell viability,migration,differentiation and proliferation.

Efficient Plant Regeneration with Arabinogalactan-Proteins on Various Ploidy Levels of Cereals

To determine the most effective dose of arabinogalactan-protein （AGP） in regeneration medium, mature embryos of genotypes in three different ploidy levels （Triticum aestivum L. cv. Ikizce-96, Triticum durum Desf. cv. Mirzabey and Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Tokak） were used to establish an efficient plant regeneration system for cereals. Percentage of callus production, capacity of regeneration were calculated, and also culture effect, root, stem, and total plant length of regenerant plants were observed in six different regeneration media （MS control, MS＋2, 5, 7, 10, 12 mg L-1 AGP） in these three different genotypes. According to the results, the highest amount of callus production was found in Ikizce-96 as 93.75% using 5 mg L-1 dicamba and 1 mg L-1 kinetin in induction medium. However, the most improved callus was observed in diploid barley Tokak as 179.95 mg in weight and 6.18 mm in diameter, respectively. The highest regeneration capacity was observed in the dose of 5 mg L-1 AGP in MS of all the genotypes and hexaploid wheat Ikizce-96 gave the best results with the highest regeneration capacity and culture effects （94.86 and 92.5%） in the same dose of AGE These results indicated that effective dose of AGP in regeneration medium increase plant regeneration in calli derived from cereal mature embryos.

AIM: To determine the gastroesophageal refl uxate in the cervical esophagus (CE) and measure transcutaneous cervical esophageal ultrasound (TCEUS) f indings [anterior wall thickness (WT) of CE, esophageal luminal diameter (ELD), esophageal diameter (ED)]; to compare TCEUS findings in the patient subgroups divided according to 24-h esophageal pH monitoring and manometry; and to investigate possible cut-off values according to the TCEUS f indings as a predictor of gastroesophageal refl ux (GER). METHODS: In 45/500 patients, refl uxate was visualized in TCEUS. 38/45 patients underwent esophagogastroduo denoscopy (EGD), 24-h pH monitoring and manometry. RESULTS: The 38 patients were grouped according to 24-h pH monitoring as follows: Group A: GER-positive (n = 20) [Includes Group B: isolated proximal refl ux (PR) (n = 6), Group C: isolated distal reflux (DR) (n = 6), and Group D: both PR/DR (n = 8)]; Group E: no refl ux (n = 13); and Group F: hypersensitive esophagus (HSE) (n = 5). Groups B + D indicated total PR patients (n = 14), Groups E + F refl ux-negatives with HSE (n = 18), and Groups A + F refl ux-positives with HSE (n = 25). When the 38 patients were grouped according to manometry fi ndings, 24 had normal esophageal manometry; 7 had hypotensive and 2 had hypertensive lower esophageal sphincter (LES); and 5 had ineffective esophageal motility disorder (IEM). The ELD measurement was greater in group A + F than group E (P = 0.023, 5.0 ± 1.3 vs 3.9 ± 1.4 mm). In 27/38 patients, there was at least one pathologic acid refl ux and/or pathologic manometry fi nding. The cut-off value for ELD of 4.83 mm had 79% sensitivity and 61% specificity in predicting the PRbetween Groups B + D and E (AUC = 0.775, P = 0.015). CONCLUSION: Visualizing refluxate in TCEUS was useful as a pre-diagnostic tool for estimating GER or manometric pathology in 71.1% of adults in our study, but it was not diagnostic for CE WT.

Beyond the metabolic functions, the liver recently has been defined as an organ of immune system(IS), which have central regulatory role for innate and adaptive immunity. The liver keeps a delicate balance between hepatic screening of pathogenic antigens and immune tolerance to self-antigens. Herbal treatments with immunological effects have potential to alter this hepatic immune balance towards either therapeutic side or diseases side by inducing liver injury via hepatotoxicity or initiation of autoimmune diseases. Most commonly known herbal treatments, which have therapeutic effect on liver and IS, have proven via in vitro, in vivo, and/or clinical studies were summarized in this review.
