Hydrogel scaffolds have numerous potential applications in the tissue engineering ***,tough hydrogel scaffolds implanted in vivo are seldom reported because it is difficult to balance biocompatibility and high mechanical *** by Chinese ramen,we propose a universal fabricating method(printing-P,training-T,cross-linking-C,PTC&PCT)for tough hydrogel scaffolds to fill this ***,3D printing fabricates a hydrogel scaffold with desired structures(P).Then,the scaffold could have extraordinarily high mechanical properties and functional surface structure by cycle mechanical training with salting-out assistance(T).Finally,the training results are fixed by photo-cross-linking processing(C).The tough gelatin hydrogel scaffolds exhibit excellent tensile strength of 6.66 MPa(622-fold untreated)and have excellent ***,this scaffold possesses functional surface structures from nanometer to micron to millimeter,which can efficiently induce directional cell ***,this strategy can produce bionic human tissue with mechanical properties of 10 kPa-10 MPa by changing the type of salt,and many hydrogels,such as gelatin and silk,could be improved with PTC or PCT *** experiments show that this scaffold can effectively promote the new generation of muscle fibers,blood vessels,and nerves within 4 weeks,prompting the rapid regeneration of large-volume muscle loss injuries.

Genetic structure and recent population demographic history of Taihangshan macaque(Macaca mulatta tcheliensis),North China

Massive actions have been and are being taken into protecting the world’s primates from extinction,while the study of the properties of genetic diversity,demographic history,and ecological relationships will beneﬁt the understand-ing of the long-term survival of a *** Taihangshan macaque(Macaca mulatta tcheliensis),a subspecies of rhesus macaque(Macaca mulatta),is endemic to China and currently restricted to southern *** ***,we evaluated the genetic diversity,population structure,and demographic history of this subspecies using mitochondrial(Cytb and high variable region I:HVR I)and nuclear markers(microsatellite loci)of 131 in-dividuals collected from 9 localities covering the distribution range of this *** phylogenetic analyses and genetic assignment revealed that the wild populations of Taihangshan macaques could be divided into 2 major highly divergent clades,THS-east and *** genetic diversity(π:0.00266±0.00016)but high haplotype diversity(Hd:0.80352±0.015)were detected in the Taihangshan macaques,particularly in *** of demographic history suggested that the Taihangshan macaques experiencedﬁrst a stable historical population size from Holocene to early 19th century but a subtle decline and then slight growth in the recent 200 *** suggest that bridging the neighbor populations(*** corridors)would facilitate the male-mediated geneﬂow and subsequently increase the genetic diversity of the Taihangshan macaque populations.

Acupuncture at the “Huatuojiaji” point affects nerve root regional interleukin-1 level in a rat model of lumbar nerve root compression

BACKGROUND：It has been shown that interleukin-1 （IL-1） may cause inflammatory reactions, which stimulate the nerve root of patients with lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion and leads to pain. Whether the clinical curative effects of acupuncture in the treatment of lumbar and leg pain are linked to an inhibition of local IL-1 secretion is unknown. OBJECTIVE： To assess the influence of acupuncture on IL-1, this study was designed to verify the effects of acupuncture at the ＂Huatuojiaji （Extra）＂ point on the nerve root in a rat model of lumbar nerve root compression, compared with administration of meloxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： Randomized, controlled, molecular biology experiment, performed at the Experimental Center, Sixth People’s Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University between September 2005 and April 2006. MATERIALS： Forty healthy adult Sprague Dawley rats of either gender were included in this study. The rats were randomly and evenly divided into the following four groups： normal control, model, acupuncture and meloxicam groups. Lumbar nerve root compression was induced in rats in the model, acupuncture, and meloxicam groups by inserting a specially made silicon rubber slice at the juncture of the L5 nerve root and the dural sac. The acupuncture needle （pattern number N3030, 30#, 1.5 inch） was purchased from Suzhou Medical Appliance Factory, China. IL-1 enzyme linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） kit was purchased from Santa Cruz Biotechnology, Inc., USA. METHODS： The acupuncture group was acupunctured at the ＂Huatuojiaji＂ point, which is lateral to the compressed L5-6 nerve root, with an acupuncture depth of 0.5 cm. There were two treatment courses, each of involved seven 20-minute acupuncture sessions, one session a day. An intermittent lithium deposition model based on CuMnbimetallic MOF derivatives for composite lithium anode with ultrahigh areal capacity and current densities

Recently,three-dimensional(3D)conductive frameworks have been chosen as the host for composite lithium(Li)metal anode because of their exceptional electrical conductivity and remarkable thermal and electrochemical ***,Li tends to accumulate on the top of the 3D frameworks with homogenous lithiophilicity and Li dendrite still *** work firstly designed a bimetallic metal-organic framework(MOF)(CuMn-MOF)derived Cu_(2)O and Mn_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles decorated carbon cloth(CC)substrates(CC@Cu_(2)O/Mn_(3)O_(4))to fabricate a composite Li *** to the synergistic effects of lithiophilic Cu_(2)O and Mn_(3)O_(4),the CC@Cu_(2)O/Mn_(3)O_(4)@Li symmetrical cell can afford a prolonged cycling lifespan(1400 h)under an ultrahigh current density and areal capacity(6 mA·cm^(-2)/6 mAh·cm^(-2)).When coupled with the LiFePO_(4)(LFP)cathode,the LFP||CC@Cu_(2)O/Mn_(3)O_(4)@Li full cell demonstrated a superior performance of 89.7 mAh·g^(-1) even at an extremely high current density(10 C).Furthermore,it can also be matched well with LiNi_(0.5)Co^(0).2Mn_(0.3)O_(2)(NCM523)***,to explain the excellent performances of the CC@Cu_(2)O/Mn_(3)O_(4)@Li composite anode,an intermittent model was also *** study offers a novel model that can enhance our comprehension of the Li deposition behavior and pave the way to attain stable and safe Li metal anodes by employing bimetallic MOF-derived materials to construct 3D frameworks.

Association between telomere length and survival in cancer patients： a meta-analysis and review of literature

The relationship between telomere length and cancer survival has been widely studied. To gain a deeper insight, we reviewed the published studies. A total of 29 studies evaluated telomere length in the peripheral blood; 22 studies evaluated telomere length in the tumor tissue. First, in the peripheral blood studies, for solid tumor patients with shortened telomere length, the combined hazard ratios （HRs） for mortality and tumor progression were 1.21 （95%CI, 1.10-1.32） and 1.71 （95%CI, 1.37-2.13）, respectively. Meanwhile, in hematology malignancy, the combined HRs for mortality and tumor progression were 2.83 （95%CI, 2.14-3.74） and 2.65 （95%CI, 2.18-3.22）, respectively. Second, in the studies that use tumor tissue, for patients with shortened telomeres, the combined HRs for mortality and tumor progression were 1.26 （95%CI, 0.95-1.66） and 1.65 （95%CI, 1.26-2.15）, respectively. In the studies that calculate the telomere length ratios of tumor tissue to adjacent normal mucosa, for patients with lower telomere length ratios, the combined HRs were 0.66 （95%CI, 0.53-0.83） and 0.74 （95%CI, 0.41-1.32） for mortality and tumor progression, respectively. In conclusion, shortened telomere in peripheral blood and tumor tissue might indicate poor survival for cancer patients. However, by calculating the telomere length ratios of tumor tissue to adjacent normal mucosa, the lower ratio might indicate better survival.

V-MOF-derived V_(2)O_(5) nanoparticles-modified carbon fiber cloth-based dendrite-free anode for high-performance lithium metal batteries

At present,commercial Li-ion batteries are hardly to satisfy the growing demand for high energy density,for this purpose,lithium metal batteries have attracted worldwide attention in recent ***,its practical applications are hindered by the formation of Li dendrites and volume effect during Li plating/stripping process,which leads to a lot of safety ***,we first employed MOF-derived V_(2)O_(5) nanoparticles to decorate the carbon fiber cloth(CFC)backbone to acquire a lithiophilic 3D porous conductive framework(CFC@V_(2)O_(5)).Subsequently,the CFC@V_(2)O_(5) skeleton was permeated with molten Li to prepare CFC@V_(2)O_(5)@Li composite *** CFC@V_(2)O_(5)@Li composite anode can be stably cycled for more than 1650 h at high current density(5 mA·cm^(-2))and areal capacity(5 mA·h·cm^(–2)).The prepared full cell can initially maintain a high capacity of about 143 mA·h·g^(-1) even at a high current density of 5 C,and can still maintain 114 mA·h·g^(-1) after 1000 cycles.

Rare earth ion-doped fluorescent glass has become a hotspot due to its *** work shows that the prepared Dy^3+and Dy^3+/Eu^3+doped glasses have white light emission under ultraviolet *** is a higher yellow light/blue light(Y/B)value,indicating an increase in the covalentity of Dy-O,and decrease in the symmetry with the increasing concentration of dopants(Dy^3+).The correlated color temperature(CCT)can be effectively reduced by the red light emission of Eu^3+,and the order of influence of excitation wavelength on CCT is 395 nm>382 nm>365 *** delay curve demonstrates the energy transfer from Dy^3+to Eu^3+.The glass has the characteristics of anti-blue light damage and wide tunable color temperature,which illustrates that it has potential application in the field of white LED.

Transcriptional modules related to hepatocellular carcinoma survival： coexpression network analysis

We performed weighted gene coexpression network analysis （WGCNA） to gain insights into the molecular aspects of hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC）. Raw microarray datasets （including 488 samples） were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus （GEO） website. Data were normalized using the RMA algorithm. We utilized the WGCNA to identify the coexpressed genes （modules） after non-specific filtering. Correlation and survival analyses were conducted using the modules, and gene ontology （GO） enrichment was applied to explore the possible mechanisms. Eight distinct modules were identified by the WGCNA. Pink and red modules were associated with liver function, whereas turquoise and black modules were inversely correlated with tumor staging. Poor outcomes were found in the low expression group in the turquoise module and in the high expression group in the red module. In addition, GO enrichment analysis suggested that inflammation, immune, virus-related, and interferon-mediated pathways were enriched in the turquoise module. Several potential biomarkers, such as cyclin-dependent kinase 1 （CDK1）, topoisomerase 2α （TOP2A）, and serpin peptidase inhibitor clade C （antithrombin） member 1 （SERPINC1）, were also identified. In conclusion, gene signatures identified from the genome-based assays could contribute to HCC stratification. WGCNA was able to identify significant groups of genes associated with cancer prognosis.

Metal–organic framework-derived Co_(3)O_(4)modified nickel foam-based dendrite-free anode for robust lithium metal batteries

For several decades,the promise of implementing of lithium(Li)metal anodes for Li batteries has been a"holy grail"for ***,we have proposed a facile design of a MOF-derived Co_(3)O_(4)nanoparticles modified nickel foam,i.e.,Co_(3)O_(4)-NF,as a 3D host to achieve a uniform infusion of the molten *** molten Li was uniformly absorbed on the Co_(3)O_(4)-NF host only in 10 s due to its high Li *** obtained Li-Co_(3)O_(4)-NF composite electrode shows high cycling stability in symmetric cells with low voltage hysteresis even at a high current density of 5 mA/*** full cells of Li-Co_(3)O_(4)-NF/LiFePO_(4)can cycle for more than 500 cycles at 2C without obvious capacity *** after cycling and in situ optical microscope results suggest that the unique 3D host structure of the Li-Co_(3)O_(4)-NF anode plays key roles on suppressing the dendrite growth and decreasing the local current *** believe this work might provide a new strategy for fabricating dendrite-free Li metal anodes and facilitate practical applications in Li batteries.

Fluorination Increases Hydrophobicity at the Macroscopic Level but not at the Microscopic Level

Hydrophobic interactions have been studied before in detail based on hydrophobic polymers,such as polystyrene(PS).Because fluorinated materials have relatively low surface energy,they often show both oleophobicity and hydrophobicity at the macroscopic ***,it remains unknown how fluorination of hydrophobic polymer influences hydrophobicity at the microscopic *** synthesized PS and fluorine-substituted PS(FPS)by employing the reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization *** angle measurements confirmed that FPS is more hydrophobic than PS at the macroscopic level due to the introduction of ***,single molecule force spectroscopy experiments showed that the forces required to unfold the PS and FPS nanoparticles in water are indistinguishable,indicating that the strength of the hydrophobic effect that drives the self-assembly of PS and FPS nanoparticles is the same at the microscopic *** divergence of hydrophobic effect at the macroscopic and microscopic level may hint different underlying mechanisms:the hydrophobicity is dominated by the solvent hydration at the microscopic level and the surface-associated interaction at the macroscopic level.
