Flexible piezoresistive strain sensors have received significant attention due to their diverse applications in monitoring human activities and health,as well as in robotics,prosthetics,and human–computer interaction *** the various flexible sensor types,those with microstructure designs are considered promising for strain sensing due to their simple structure,high sensitivity,extensive operational range,rapid response time,and robust *** review provides a concise overview of recent advancements in flexible piezoresistive sensors based on microstructure design for enhanced strain sensing performance,including the impact of microstructure on sensing mechanisms,classification of microstructure designs,fabrication methods,and practical ***,this review delves into the analysis of piezoresistive sensor sensing mechanisms and performance parameters,exploring the relationship between microstructure design and performance ***,an in-depth discussion is presented,focusing on the primary themes of microstructure design classification,process selection,performance characteristics,and specific *** review employs mathematical modeling and hierarchical analysis to emphasize the directionality of different microstructures on performance enhancement and to highlight the performance advantages and applicable features of various microstructure *** conclusion,this review examines the multifunctionality of flexible piezoresistive sensors based on microstructure design and addresses the challenges that still need to be overcome and improved,such as achieving a wide range of stretchability,high sensitivity,and robust *** review summarizes the research directions for enhancing sensing performance through microstructure design,aiming to assist in the advancement of flexible piezoresistive sensors.

SARS-Co V-2 has caused global waves of infection since December 2019 and continues to persist today. The emergence of SARS-Co V-2variants with strong immune evasion capabilities has compromised the effectiveness of existing vaccines against breakthrough ***, it is important to determine the best utilization strategies for different demographic groups given the variety of vaccine options available. In this review, we will discuss the protective efficacy of vaccines during different stages of the epidemic and emphasize the importance of timely updates to target prevalent variants, which can significantly improve immune protection. While it is recognized that vaccine effectiveness may be lower in certain populations such as the elderly, individuals with chronic comorbidities(e.g., diabetes with poor blood glucose control, those on maintenance dialysis), or those who are immunocompromised compared to the general population,administering multiple doses can result in a strong protective immune response that outweighs potential risks. However, caution should be exercised when considering vaccines that might trigger an intense immune response in populations prone to inflammatory flare or other complications. In conclusion, individuals with special conditions require enhanced and more effective immunization strategies to prevent infection or reinfection, as well as to avoid the potential development of long COVID.

Investigation of long-term implantation of BuMA stent in a porcine coronary model

Background Stent-based delivery of sirolimus has been shown to reduce neointimal hyperplasia significantly. However, the long-term effect of the polymer is thought to initiate and sustain an inflammatory response and contribute to the occurrence of late complications. Our study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the BuMA biodegradable drug-coated sirolimus-eluting stent （BSES） for inhibiting neointimal hyperplasia in a porcine coronary model. Methods Four types of stents were implanted at random in different coronary arteries of the same pig： BSES （n=24）, bare metal stent （BMS）（n=24）, biodegradable polymer coated stent without drug （PCS）（n=24） and only poly （n-butyl methacrylate） base layer coated stent （EGS）（n=23）. In total, 26 animals underwent successful random placement of 95 oversized stents in the coronary arteries. Coronary angiography was performed after 28 days, 90 days and 240 days of stent implantation. After 14 days, 28 days, 90 days and 240 days, 6 animals at each timepoint were sacrificed for histomorphologic analysis. Results The 28-day, 90-day and 240-day results of quantitative coronary angiography （QCA） showed reduction in luminal loss （LL） in the BSES group when compared with the BMS group; （0.20±0.35） mm vs. （0.82±0.51） mm （P=-0.035）, （0.20±0.30） mm vs. （0.93±0.51） mm （P=-0.013）, and （0.18±0.16） mm vs. （0.19±0.24） mm （P=0.889）, respectively. By 28-day, 90-day and 240-day histomorphomeric analysis results, there was also a corresponding significant reduction in neointimal tissue proliferation with similar injury scores of BSES compared with the BMS control; average neointimal area （0.90±0.49） mm2 vs. （2.16±1.29） mm2 （P=0.049）, （1.53±0.84） mm2 vs. （3.41±1.55） mm2 （P=-0.026）, and （2.43±0.95） mm2 vs. （3.12±1.16） mm2 （P=0.228）, respectively. High magnification histomorphologic examination revealed similar inflammation scores and endothelialization scores in both the BSES and BMS groups. Flow characteristics and bubble statistics during the fragmentation process of the ingested main cavity in plunging breaking waves

Plunging breaking waves play an important role in the exchange of heat,momentum,and mass between the atmosphere and *** this paper,a series of direct numerical simulations is conducted to investigate the fragmentation process of the ingested main cavity in plunging breaking *** two-phase Navier-Stokes equations are solved using the finite-volume method based on adaptive refinement *** free surface is captured using a geometrical volume of fluid *** 2-D,3-D simulations are *** flow fields at different stages of wave breaking are presented and quantitative analysis for bubbles is *** 2-D instantaneous vorticity field and local velocity field are visualized to discuss the general flow characteristics during the fragmentation *** a 2-D parametric study is conducted to investigate the differences in the flow characteristics during the fragmentation process under different wave parameters including initial wave steepness(ε),Bond number(Bo),and Reynolds number(Re).3-D vortex structures are shown to further investigate the mechanisms behind the differences in the flow *** bubble size distributions under two different initial wave steepness are also discussed with their relationship to the fragmentation process of the ingested main *** research offers a significant understanding of the distinct procedures and fundamental dynamics involved in wave breaking,enhancing our comprehension of this intricate event.

Human normal flora is a source of *** safety characteristics of a specific isolate determine its application in foods or *** food-borne-pathogen antagonist strain Lactobacillus gasseri HMV18 is one of the isolates from normal human *** this work,we assessed the in vitro pH tolerance,bile tolerance,biogenic amine production,mucin utilization,and safety of in vivo administration to mice to evaluate general health,organ-body weight index,organ histopathological change,whether *** HMV18 can colonize in the gut or modulate the gut microbiota after oral *** results suggest that *** HMV18 can tolerate pH 3 for 2 h,3%bile for 3 h,biogenic amine negative,mucin usage negative,does not encode verified toxins,and cause no visible change in mice's *** HMV18 might not colonize in mice's gut,but can significantly affect the structure of gut microbiota.A bibliographical survey suggested that there were as few as 8 opportunistic infection cases from 1984 to 2022 and that the possibility for *** to cause infection is relatively ***,this work provides a basis for the foods or drugs application of *** HMV18 and gives a map of experiments for the safety assessment of probiotics.

Ignition processes and characteristics of charring conductive polymers with a cavity geometry in precombustion chamber for applications in micro/nano satellite hybrid rocket motors

The arc ignition system based on charring polymers has advantages of simple structure,low ignition power consumption and multiple ignitions,which bringing it broadly application prospect in hybrid propulsion system of micro/nano ***,charring polymers alone need a relatively high input voltage to achieve pyrolysis and ignition,which increases the burden and cost of the power system of micro/nano satellite in practical *** conductive substance into charring polymers can effectively decrease the conducting voltage which can realize low voltage and low power consumption repeated ignition of arc ignition *** this paper,a charring conductive polymer ignition grain with a cavity geometry in precombustion chamber,which is composed of PLA and multiwall carbon nanotubes(MWCNT)was *** detailed ignition processes were analyzed and two different ignition mechanisms in the cavity of charring conductive polymers were *** ignition characteristics of charring conductive polymers were also investigated at different input voltages,ignition grain structures,ignition locations and injection schemes in a visual ignition *** results demonstrated that the ignition delay and external energy required for ignition were inversely correlated with the voltages applied to ignition ***,the incremental depth of cavity shortened the ignition delay and external energy required for ignition while accelerated the propagation of *** the depth of cavity increased from 2 to 6 mm(at 50 V),the time of flame propagating out of ignition grain changed from 235.6 to 108 ms,and values of mean ignition delay time and mean external energy required for ignition decreased from 462.8 to 320 ms and 16.2 to 10.75 J,*** rear side of the cavity was the ideal ignition position which had a shorter ignition delay and a faster flame propagation speed in comparison to other ignition *** to direct injection scheme,swirlin

Carbon Emission Effects Driven by Evolution of Chinese Dietary Structure from 1987 to 2020

Exploring carbon emission effects based on the evolution of residents’ dietary structure to achieve the carbon neutrality goal and mitigate climate change is an important *** study took China as the research object(data excluding Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan) and used the carbon emission coefficient method to quantitatively measure the food carbon emissions from 1987–2020,then analyzed the carbon emission effects under the evolution of dietary *** results showed that during the study period,the Chinese dietary structure gradually changed to a high-carbon consumption *** dietary structure of urban residents developed to a balanced one,while that of rural residents developed to a high-quality *** the study period,the per capita food carbon emissions and total food consumption of Chinese showed an increasing *** per capita food carbon emissions of residents in urban and rural showed an overall upward *** total food carbon emissions in urban increased significantly,while that in rural increased first and then *** influence of beef and mutton on carbon emissions is the highest in dietary *** with the balanced dietary pattern,the food carbon emissions of Chinese residents had not yet reached the peak,but were evolving to a high-carbon consumption pattern.

Unsupervised Multi-Expert Learning Model for Underwater Image Enhancement

Underwater image enhancement aims to restore a clean appearance and thus improves the quality of underwater degraded *** methods feed the whole image directly into the model for ***,they ignored that the R,G and B channels of underwater degraded images present varied degrees of degradation,due to the selective absorption for the *** address this issue,we propose an unsupervised multi-expert learning model by considering the enhancement of each color ***,an unsupervised architecture based on generative adversarial network is employed to alleviate the need for paired underwater *** on this,we design a generator,including a multi-expert encoder,a feature fusion module and a feature fusion-guided decoder,to generate the clear underwater ***,a multi-expert discriminator is proposed to verify the authenticity of the R,G and B channels,*** addition,content perceptual loss and edge loss are introduced into the loss function to further improve the content and details of the enhanced *** experiments on public datasets demonstrate that our method achieves more pleasing results in vision *** metrics(PSNR,SSIM,UIQM and UCIQE) evaluated on our enhanced images have been improved obviously.

The structure-directing role of heterologous seeds in the synthesis of zeolite

Zeolites have been widely used as catalysts,ion-exchangers,and adsorbents in chemical industries,detergent industry,steel industry,glass industry,ceramic industry,medical and healthﬁeld,and environmentalﬁeld,and recently applied in energy ***-assisted synthesis is a very effective approach in promoting the crystallization of *** some cases,the target zeolite cannot be formed in the absence of seed *** homologous seed-assisted synthesis,the structure of the seed zeolite is the same to that of the target zeolite,while the structure of the seed zeolite is different to that of the target zeolite in the heterologous seed-assisted *** this review,we brieﬂy summarized the heterologous seed-assisted syntheses of zeolites and analyzed the structure-directing effect of heterologous seeds and surveyed the“common composite building units(CBUs)hypothesis”and the“common secondary building units(SBUs)hypothesis”.However,both hypotheses cannot explain all observations on the heterologous seed-assisted ***,we proposed that the formation of the target zeolite does need nuclei with the structure of target zeolite and the formation of the nuclei of the target zeolite can be promoted by either the undissolved seed crystals with the same CBUs or SBUs to the target zeolite or by the facilitated appropriate distribution of the speciﬁc building units due to the presence of the heterologous seed that does not have any common CBUs and SBUs with the target zeolite.

Photochromic radical states in 3D covalent organic frameworks with zyg topology for enhanced photocatalysis

Covalent-organic frameworks（COFs） with photoinduced donor-acceptor（D-A） radical pairs show enhanced photocatalytic activity in principle. However, achieving long-lived charge separation in COFs proves challenging due to the rapid charge recombination. Here, we develop a novel strategy by combining[6 + 4] nodes to construct zyg-type 3D COFs, first reported in COF chemistry. This structure type exhibits a fused Olympic-rings-like shape, which provides a platform for stabilizing the photoinduced D-A radical pairs. The zyg-type COFs containing catalytically active moieties such as triphenylamine and phenothiazine（PTZ） show superior photocatalytic production rates of hydrogen peroxide（H2O2）. Significantly, the photochromic radical states of these COFs show up to 400% enhancement in photocatalytic activity compared to the parent states, achieving a remarkable H2O2synthesis rate of 3324 μmol g-1h-1, which makes the PTZ-COF one of the best crystalline porous photocatalysts in H2O2production. This work will shed light on the synthesis of efficient 3D COF photocatalysts built on topologies that can facilitate photogenerating D-A radical pairs for enhanced photocatalysis.
