The single crystal and crystallized powder of triphosphate CeP3O9 have been synthesized, and the space group of CeP3O9has been determined to be C2221 with the cell parameters ofa = 8.6059, b = 11.2437, c = 7.3518 A, V= 711.4（3） A^3, Z= 4, D,. = 3.520 g/cm^3, F（000） = 700, R = 0.0377 and wR = 0.0930. The absorption and emission spectra have been measured, for which the strongest absorption and emission peaks are located at 280 and 320 nm, respectively. The density of state （DOS） and dielectric function have been calculated by the DFT method. The crystal is transparent provided the wavelength is larger than 341 nm, and the observed ultraviolet cut-off edge is at about 350 nm for a polycrystalline power sample. It is possible that the triphosphate CeP3O9 will become an ultraviolet emission material.

AIM: To investigate the anti-tumor effects of equol in gastric cancer cells and the underlying molecular ***: MGC-803 cells were employed for in vitro experiments in this study. Cells were treated with control(vehicle,0.1% DMSO) or equol under specified dose titration or time courses. Cell viability was examined by MTS assay,and the levels of Ki67 were determined by q PCR and immunofluorescent assay. Changes in cell cycle distribution and apoptosis rate were detected by flow cytometry. The m RNA expression of cyclin E1 and P21WAF1 was determined by q PCR. The protein levels of cell cycle regulators,PARP and Caspase-3 cleavage,and the phosphorylation of Akt were examined by Western blot. In addition,to characterize the role of elevated Akt activation in the anti-tumor effect exerted by equol,Ly294002,a PI3K/AKT pathway inhibitor,was used to pretreat MGC-803 cells. RESULTS: Equol(5,10,20,40,or 80 μmol/L) inhibited viability of MGC-803 cells in a dose- and timedependent manner after treatment for 24,36,or 48 h(P < 0.05 for all). Equol also decreased the m RNA(P <0.05 for 12 and 24 h treatment) and protein levels of Ki67. Equol treatment significantly induced G0/G1 cell cycle arrest(P < 0.05),with the percentages of G0/G1 cells of 32.23% ± 3.62%,36.31% ± 0.24%,45.58% ± 2.29%,and 65.10% ± 2.04% for equol(0,10,20,or 30 μmol/L) treatment,respectively,accompanied by a significant decrease of CDK2/4(P < 0.05 for 24 and 48 h treatment) and Cyclin D1/Cyclin E1(P < 0.05),and an increased level of P21WAF1(P < 0.05). A marked increase of apoptosis was observed,with the percentages of apoptotic cells of 5.01% ± 0.91%,14.57% ± 0.99%,37.40% ± 0.58%,and 38.46% ± 2.01% for equol(0,5,10,or 20 μmol/L) treatment,respectively,accompanied by increased levels of cleaved PARP and caspase-3. In addition,we found that equol treatment increased P-Akt(Ser473 and Thr308) at 12 and 24 h compared to vehicle-treated control; longer treatment for 48 h decreased P-Akt(Ser473 and Thr308)

Influence of HbA1c on short-term blood pressure variability in type 2 diabetic patients with diabetic nephropathy

The aim of this study was to understand the characteristics of blood pressure （BP） variability in subjects with diabetic nephropathy （DN）, and identify the probable predictors affecting BP variability. Fifty-one chronic kidney disease （CKD）-hypertensive patients without diabetes （NDN group） and sixty type 2 diabetic patients with overt DN （DN group） were enrolled in this study. The values of short-term BP variability were obtained from 24 h ambulatory BP monitoring （ABPM）. Variance analysis or nonparametric analysis revealed that 24-h systolic BP variability and night- time systolic BP variability of the DN group were significantly higher than those of the NDN group [（12.23±3.66） vs. （10.74±3.83） mmHg, P〈0.05; （11.23±4.82） vs. （9.48±3.69） mmHg, P〈0.05]. Then the patients of the DN group were divided into two groups according to glycated hemoglobin （HbAlc） level： Group A （HbA1c〈7%） and Group B （HbA1c〉7%）, and the t-test showed that patients in Group B had larger 24-h diastolic, daytime diastolic, and nighttime systolic/diastolic BP variability compared with Group A. In the DN group, partial correlation analysis revealed that HbAlc exhibited a strong association with 24-h diastolic, daytime diastolic, nighttime systolic and diastolic BP vari- ability （P〈0.001, P〈0.001, P〈0.05, and P〈0.001, respectively）. Taken together, larger short-term BP variability was detected in hypertensive type 2 diabetic patients with overt nephropathy and renal insufficiency. It may imply that the optimal BP variability level could benefit from a better glycaemic control.

Anatase TiO_(2)nanospindles containing 89%exposed{101}facets(TIO_(2)-101)and nanosheets with 77%exposed{001}facets(TiO_(2)-001)were hydrothermally synthesized and used as supports for Pd *** effects of the TiO_(2)materials on the catalytic performance of Pd/TiO_(2)-101 and Pd/TiO_(2)-001 catalysts were investigated in the selective hydrogenation of acetylene to polymer-grade *** PdfTiO_(2)-101 catalyst exhibited enhanced performance in terms of acetylene conversion and ethylene *** understand these effects,the catalysts were characterized by H_(2)temperature-programmed desorption(H_(2)-TPD),H_(2)temperature-programmed reduction(H=-TPR),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),pulse CO chemisorption,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).The TEM and CO chemisorption results confirmed that Pd nanoparticles(NPs)on the TiO_(2)-101 support had a smaller average particle size(1.53 nm)and a higher dispersion(15.95%)than those on the TiO_(2)-001 support(average particle size of 4.36 nm and dispersion of 9.06%).The smaller particle size and higher dispersion of Pd on the Pd/TiO_(2)-101 catalyst provided more reaction active sites,which contributed to the improved catalytic activity of this supported catalyst.

Objective Clinical characteristics and outcome in COVID-19 with brucellosis patients has not been well demonstrated,we tried to analyze clinical outcome in local and literature COVID-19 cases with brucellosis before and after *** We retrospectively collected hospitalization data of comorbid patients and prospectively followed up after discharge in Heilongjiang Infectious Disease Hospital from January 15,2020 to April29,***,epidemiological,clinical symptoms,radiological and laboratory data,treatment medicines and outcomes,and follow up were analyzed,and findings of a systematic review were *** A total of four COVID-19 with brucellosis patients were *** patient had active brucellosis before covid and 3 patients had nonactive brucellosis before *** median age was54.5 years,and all were males(100.0%).Two cases(50.0%)were moderate,and one was mild and asymptomatic,*** cases(75.0%)had at least one comorbidity(brucellosis excluded).All4 patients were found in COVID-19 nucleic acid *** C and D had only headache and fever on admission,*** cases were treated with Traditional Chinese medicine,western medicines for three cases,no adverse reaction occurred during *** patients were cured and ***,one case(25.0%)had still active brucellosis without re-positive COVID-19,and other three cases(75.0%)have no symptoms of discomfort except one case fell fatigue and anxious during the follow-up period after *** the literature review,two similar cases have been reported in two case reports,and were both recovered,whereas,no data of follow up after *** These cases indicate that COVID-19 patients with brucellosis had favorable outcome before and after *** clinical studies should be conducted to confirm our findings.
