Development of the telencephalon relies upon several signaling centers-localized cellular populations that supply secreted factors to pattern the cortical *** such signaling center is the cortical hem,which arises during embryonic development at the telencephalic dorsal midline,adjacent to the choroid plexus and hippocampal primordium(Figure 1A).While the cortical hem has also been described in reptiles and birds,most of our knowledge about the developmental roles of the cortical hem is derived from the analysis in *** cortical hem produces several types of secreted molecules,including wingless-related integration site(Wnt)and bone morphogenetic(Bmp)*** cortical hem is particularly important for the development of the hippocampus,which is involved in learning and memory,and the neocortex,which is the most complex brain region that mediates multiple types of behavior and higher cognitive functions(Mangale et al.,2008;Dal-Valle-Anton and Borrell,2022).

Cerebral ischemia is a major health risk that requires preventive approaches in addition to drug *** exercise enhances neurogenesis and synaptogenesis,and has been widely used for functional rehabilitation after *** this study,we determined whether exercise training before disease onset can alleviate the severity of cerebral *** also examined the role of exercise-induced circulating factors in these *** mice were subjected to 14 days of treadmill exercise training before surgery for middle cerebral artery *** found that this exercise pre-conditioning strategy effectively attenuated brain infarct area,inhibited gliogenesis,protected synaptic proteins,and improved novel object and spatial memory *** analysis showed that circulating adiponectin plays a critical role in these preventive effects of *** activation of adiponectin receptors by Adipo Ron mimicked the effects of exercise,while inhibiting receptor activation abolished the exercise *** summary,our results suggest a crucial role of circulating adiponectin in the effects of exercise pre-conditioning in protecting against cerebral ischemia and supporting the health benefits of exercise.

Spinal muscular atrophy(SMA)is a genetic condition that results in selective lower motor neuron loss with concomitant muscle weakness and *** genetic cause of SMA was understood in 1995 when loss or impairment of the survival motor neuron 1(SMN1)gene was identified as the main contributing factor(Lefebvre et al.,1995).This,in combination with the discovery that humans have a“back-up”gene,SMN2,which can produce low levels(approximately 10%)of the full-length functional SMN protein,has led to the generation of SMA-specific gene *** was traditionally classified according to age of symptom onset and developmental milestones achieved,with life expectancy and severity varying between ***,SMN2 copy number is used as a proxy for the prediction of disease severity,with higher SMN2 copy number typically being associated with reduced severity of SMA,although this relationship is not absolute:some individuals with low SMN2 copy number have less severe SMA phenotypes and vice ***,the etiology of SMA is further complicated by other factors,such as non-typical nucleotide variants and SMN2-independent modifiers of disease severity.

The electronic density of states, spin- splittings and atomic magnetic moments of the six- member ring N2C4 cluster with folding configuration in DNA bases have been studied by spin-polarized MS-Xα method. The results showed that there are at least four metastable states near the ground state level ?7.01635×103 eV. Those metastable states found in the calculation are at the levels ?7.01626× 103, ?7.01616×103, ?7.01606×103 and ?7.01597×103 eV, respectively. The electronic structures of those states were found to differ from each other. Therefore, they have different characteristics. The cluster exhib-its metal properties and has a weak antiferromag-netism in the ground state, while it shows ferrimag-netism and half-metal properties in the first metasta-ble state. The distribution of the electronic density of states of the six-member ring N2C4 cluster is very similar to that of some diluted magnetic semicon-ductors near the Fermi surface.

Recent years have seen the development of a number of mathematical models for the description of the simultaneous transport of microorganisms and bioreactive solutes in porous media. Most models are based on the advection dispersion equation, with terms added to account for interactions with the surfaces of the solid matrix, transformations and microbial activities. Those models based on the advection dispersion equation have all been shown to represent laboratory experimental data adequately although various assumptions have been made concerning the pore scale distribution of bacteria. This paper provides an overview of the recent work on modelling the transport and fate of microorganisms and bioreactive solutes in porous media and examines the different assumptions regarding the pore scale distribution of microorganisms.

Bismuth-promoted （1% and 3%） vanadyl pyrophosphate catalysts were prepared by refluxing Bi（NO3）4.5H2O and VOPO4.2H2O in isobutanol. The incorporation of Bi into the catalysts lattice increased the surface area and lowered the overall V oxidation state. Profiles of temperature programmed reduction （TPR） in H2 show a significant shift of the maxima of major reduction peaks to lower temperatures for the Bi-promoted catalysts. A new peak was also observed at the low temperature region for the catalyst with 3% of Bi dopant. The addition of Bi also increased the total amount of oxygen removed from the catalysts. The reduction pattern and reactivity information provide fundamental insight into the catalytic properties of the catalysts. Bi-promoted catalysts were found to be highly active （71% and 81% conversion for 1% and 3% Bi promoted catalysts, respectively, at 703 K）, as compared to the unpromoted material （47% conversion）. The higher activity of the Bi-promoted catalysts is due to that these catalysts possess highly active and labile lattice oxygen. The better catalytic performance can also be attributed to the larger surface area.

Starch from cereal grains,pulse grains,and tubers is a major energy substrate in swine rations constituting up to 55%of the *** pigs,starch digestion is initiated by salivary and then pancreaticα-amylase,and has as final step the digestion of disaccharides by the brush-border enzymes in the small intestine that produce monosaccharides(glucose)for *** starch(RS)is the proportion of starch that escapes the enzymatic digestion and absorption in the small *** undigested starch reaches the distal small intestine and hindgut for microbial fermentation,which produces short-chain fatty acids(SCFA)for *** in turn,influence microbial ecology and gut health of *** fermentative metabolites exert their benefits on gut health through promoting growth and proliferation of enterocytes,maintenance of intestinal integrity and thus immunity,and modulation of the microbial community in part by suppressing the growth of pathogenic bacteria while selectively enhancing beneficial ***,RS has the potential to confer prebiotic effects and may contribute to the improvement of intestinal health in pigs during the post-weaning *** these benefits to the well-being of pigs,RS has a contradictory effect due to lower energetic efficiency of fermented *** starch absorption *** varying amount and type of RS interact differently with the digestion process along the gastrointestinal tract affecting its energy efficiency and host physiological responses including feed intake,energy metabolism,and feed *** of research indicate that the use of RS as prebiotic may improve gut health and thereby,reduce the incidence of post-weaning diarrhea(PWD)and associated *** review summarizes our current knowledge on the effects of RS on microbial ecology,gut health and growth performance in pigs.

In this paper,we study the flexural vibration behavior of single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)for the assessment of Timoshenko beam ***tensive molecular dynamics(MD)simulations based on second-generation reactive empirical bond-order(REBO)potential and Timoshenko beam modeling are performed to determine the vibration frequencies for SWCNTs with various length-todiameter ratios,boundary conditions,chiral angles and initial *** effectiveness of the local and nonlocal Timoshenko beam models in the vibration analysis is assessed using the vibration frequencies of MD simulations as the *** is shown herein that the Timoshenko beam models with properly chosen parameters are applicable for the vibration analysis of *** simulation results show that the fundamental frequencies are independent of the chiral angles,but the chirality has an appreciable effect on higher vibration *** SWCNTs is very sensitive to the initial strain even if the strain is extremely small.
