Rechargeable Al-ion batteries(AIBs)are considered as one of the most fascinating energy storage systems due to abundant Al resource and low ***,the cycling stability is subjected to critical problems for using Al foil as negative electrode,including Al dendrites,corrosion and *** addressing these problems,here a lightweight self-supporting N-doped carbon rod array(NCRA)is demonstrated for a long-life negative electrode in *** analysis and first-principle calculations reveal the storage mechanism involving the induced deposition of N-containing function groups to Al as well as the ideal skeleton of the NCRA matrix for Al plating/stripping,which is favorable for regulating Al nucleation and suppressing dendrites *** with the Al foil,the NCRA exhibits lower areal mass density(∼72%of Al foil),smaller thickness(40%of Al foil),but much longer cycle life(>4 times of Al foil).Benefiting from the remarkable stability of the array structure,symmetric cells show excellent cycling stability with small voltage hysteresis(∼80 mV)and meanwhile there are no corrosion and pulverization problems even after cycled for 120 ***,full cells also manifest long lifespan(1,500 cycles)and increased Coulombic efficiency(100±1%).

P-xylene(p-C_(8)H_(10))is extremely harmful and dangerous to human health due to high toxicity and strong *** sensitive material to effectively detect p-xylene is of *** this paper,perovskite single crystal(C_(4)H_(9)NH_(3))_(2)PbI_(4) has been successfully synthesized via solution *** obtained product was analyzed by single crystal X-ray *** the space group Pbca,orthorhombic(C_(4)H_(9)NH_(3))_(2)PbI_(4) layered perovskite structure consists of an extended two-dimensional network of corner-sharing PbI_(6) *** layer perovskite sheets of distorted PbI_(6) octahedron alternated with protonated n-butylammonium cation bilayers,which offers many advantages and provides the possibility of forming a gas sensor device based on the change of *** functional theory(DFT)simulations regarding the adsorption energy revealed that this organicinorganic hybrid perovskite compound has excellent selectivity toward p-xylene compared with other gases including C_(2)H_(5)OH,C_(6)H_(6),CH_(2)Cl_(2),HCHO,CH_(3)COCH_(3) and C_(7)H_(8).The calculation of electron density,density of states and electron density difference showed the sensing mechanism of p-C_(8)H_(10) is mainly derived from physical adsorption-desorption in view of electron transfer.

The flow field in the cooled channel of a heat exchanger was measured usingthe X-type film probes of Hot wire/Firm Anemotheter, and the turbulent mechanism was discussed. Itis concluded that the airflow is cooled in the flow process, the distribution of the turbulentintensity is relatively convergent near the centcrline and the boundary, the constriction actionproduced due to heat release at the foot of the fins causes u to decrease and w to increase near theroot downstream. It is concluded that the turbulent flow with cooled boundary results from thebalance of production, dissipation and intermittency caused by constriction action.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative movement disorder resulting from a selective loss of dopaminergic neurons. The pathogenesis of PD remains incompletely understood, but increasing evidence from human and animal studies has suggested that oxidative damage contributes to the neuronal loss in PD. In this study, we used rotenone (a mitochondrial complex I inhibitor) based cell and Drosophila models that resemble some key pathological features of PD to test whether curcumin, a potent antioxidant compound, derived from the curry spice turmeric, could protect against rotenone-induced neuronal toxicity. we found that curcumin reduced rotenone induced cell death in SH-Sy5y human neuroblastoma cells and alleviated PD-like symptoms in drosophila via reducing the intracellular and mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and inhibiting the caspase-3/caspase-9 activity. These results suggest that curcumin is a promising therapeutic compound for PD.

Objective To study the effect of γ-interferon （IFNγ）, tumor necrosis factor related apoptosis inducing ligand （TRAIL）, and cisplatin or etoposide induced apoptosis in human neuroblastoma cell line SH-Sy5y and its possible molecular mechanisms. Methods The expressions of Caspase 8 mRNA and protein were detected with RT-PCR and western blot analysis. The effects of IFNγ, TRAIL, IFNγ ＋ TRAIL, IFNγ ＋ Caspase 8 inhibitor ＋ TRAIL, IFNγ ＋ cisplatin ＋ TRAIL, and IFNγ ＋ etoposide ＋ TRAIL on the growth and apoptosis of SH-Sy5y cells were detected with the methods of MTT and flow cytometry. The relative Caspase 8 activity was measured with colorimetric assay. Results Caspase 8 was undetectable in SH-Sy5y cells but an increased expression of Caspase 8 mRNA and protein was found after treatment with IFNγ. SH-Sy5y ceils themselves were not sensitive to TRAIL, but those expressing Caspase 8 after treatment with IFNγ were. The killing effect of TRAIL on SH-Sy5y cells expressing Caspase 8 was depressed by Caspase 8 inhibitor. Cisplatin and etoposide could enhance the sensitivity of TRAIL on SH-Sy5y cells. The relative Caspase 8 activity of SH-Sy5y cells in IFNγ ＋ TRAIL group was significantly higher than those of control group, IFNγ group, TRAIL group, and inhibitor group （ P 〈 0. 01 ）. There was no significant difference among IFNγ ＋ TRAIL group, IFNγ ＋ cisplatin ＋ TRAIL group, and IFNγ ＋ etoposide ＋ TRAIL group. Conclusions IFNγ could sensitize SH-Sy5y cells to TRAIL-induced apoptosis and this may be realized by the up-regulation of Caspase 8. Cisplatin and etoposide could enhance the killing effect of TRAIL on SH-Sy5y cells.

Low strength and poor corrosion resistance are two long-standing bottlenecks with dilute Mg ***,we report that the corrosion resistance of Mg-0.6Al-0.5Mn-0.2Ca(wt.%)alloy sheet can be significantly improved by micro-alloying with 0.3 wt.%Ce,and the strength can be considerably augmented after aging *** optimization of strength,ductility,and corrosion resistance is difficult due to the inherent trade-off in Mg ***,our aged Mg-0.6Al-0.5Mn-0.2Ca-0.3Ce alloy features with yield strength(yS)of∼194 MPa,ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of∼265 MPa,elongation to failure(EF)of∼17.2%,and corrosion rate(CR)of 2.2 mm y^(−1),the combination of which exhibits competitive advantage over other comparative dilute Mg *** is found that Ce addition decreases the activity of cathodic phases,inhibits detrimental effects of Fe impurities,and forms a protective Ce-containing surface *** high strength stems from the precipitation of ordered Guinier-Preston(G.P.)zones dispersed in uniform fine grains with an average grain size of∼8.2μ*** atomic-scale *** result in a noticeable age hardening response but do not act as crack initiation and propagation site,so our alloy also performs satisfactory *** work sheds light on the design and fabrication of strong,ductile,and corrosion-resistant dilute magnesium alloys to be used in electronic products and automotive bodies.
