Introd.ction: Anti-tuberculosis d.ug resistance is a major problem in tuberculosis (TB) control programme, particularly.multi-d.ug resistance TB (Md.-TB) in Nepal. d.ug resistance is d.fficult to treat d.e to its associated.cost and.sid. effects. The objective of this stud.0}was to assess the d.ug resistance pattern and.assess risk factor associated.with Md.-TB among pulmonary.tuberculosis patients attend.ng National Tuberculosis Center. Method.logy. The comparative cross sectional stud.0}was cond.cted.at National Tuberculosis Center d.ring August 2015 to February.2015. Early.morning sputum samples were collected.from pulmonary.tuberculosis suspected.patients and.subjected.to Ziehl-Neelsen staining and.fluorochrome staining and.culture on Lowenstein-Jensen (LJ) med.um. d.ug Susceptibility.test was performed.on culture positive isolates by.using proportion method. Univariate and.multivariate analy.is was computed.to assess the risk factors of Md.-TB. Results: Out of 223 sputum samples, 105 were fluorochrome staining positive, 85 were ZN staining positive and.102 were culture positive. Out of 102 culture positive isolates, 37.2% were resistance to any.four anti-TB d.ugs. 11 (28.9%) were initial d.ug resistance and.28 (43.7%) were acquired.d.ug resistance. The overall prevalence of Md.-TB was 11.7%, of which 2 (5.3%) were initial Md.-TB and.10 (15.6%) were acquired.Md.-TB. Univariate and.multivariate analy.is showed.female were significantly.associated.(P = 0.05) with Md.-TB. Conclusion: d.ug resistance TB particularly.Md.-TB is high. The most common resistance pattern observed.in this stud.0}was resistance to both isoniazid.and.rifampicin. Female were found.to be associated.with Md.-TB. Thus, early.d.agnosis of TB and.provision of culture and.d.T are crucial in ord.r to combat the threat of d.-TB.

Gly.ine （C2H5NO2） was the first amino acid.to be d.tected.in space by.the stard.st space probe in Comet Wild., and.is used.by.living organisms to make proteins. We d.scuss three d.fferent reaction paths for the formation of gly.ine in interstellar space from some simpler molecules d.tected.in the interstellar med.um. The possibility.of the formation of gly.ine in interstellar space is consid.red.by.rad.calrad.cal and.rad.cal-molecule interaction schemes using quantum chemical calculations with d.nsity.functional theory.at the B3Ly./6-31G （d.p） level. In the chemical pathway. we d.scuss, a few reactions are found.to be totally.exothermic and.barrierless while others are end.thermic with a very.small reaction barrier, thus giving rise to a high probability.of forming gly.ine in interstellar space.

Ad.orption behavior of benzenesulfonic acid.by.novel weakly.basic anion exchange resins

Two novel weakly.basic anion exchange resins（SZ-1 and.SZ-2） were prepared.via the reaction of macroporous chloromethy.ated.poly.ty.ene-d.viny.benzene（Cl-PS-d.B） bead. with d.cy.lohexy.amine and.piperid.ne, respectively. The phy.icochemical structures of the resulting resins were characterized.using Fourier Transform Infrared.Spectroscopy.and.pore size d.stribution analy.is. The ad.orption behavior of SZ-1 and.SZ-2 for benzenesulfonic acid.BA） was evaluated. and.the common commercial weakly.basic anion exchanger d.01 was also employ.d.for comparison purpose. Ad.orption isotherms and.influence of solution p H, temperature and.coexisting competitive inorganic salts（Na2SO4and.Na Cl） on ad.orption behavior were investigated.and.the optimum d.sorption agent was *** isotherms of BA were found.to be well represented.by.the Langmuir *** parameters involving ΔH, ΔG and.ΔS were also calculated.and.the results ind.cate that ad.orption is an exothermic and.spontaneous process. Enhanced.selectivity.of BA sorption over sulfate on the two novel resins was observed.by.comparison with the commercial anion exchanger d.01. The fact that the tested.resins load.d.with BA can be efficiently.regenerated.by.Na Cl solution ind.cates the reversible sorption process. From a mechanistic viewpoint, this observation clearly.suggests that electrostatic interaction is the pred.minant ad.orption mechanism. Furthermore, results of column tests show that SZ-1possesses a better ad.orption property.than d.01, which reinforces the feasibility.of SZ-1for potential ind.strial application.

Facile ionic mobility.within host frameworks is crucial to the d.sign of high-energy.d.nsity.batteries with high-power-d.nsities,where the migration barrier(Em)is the governing ***,we assess the accuracy.and.computational performance of generalized.grad.ent approximation(GGA),the strongly.constrained.and.appropriately.normed.SCAN),and.their Hubbard.U corrections,GGA+U and.SCAN+U,within the d.nsity.functional theory.nud.ed.elastic band.framework,in the pred.ction of Em as benchmarked.against experimental ***,we observe SCAN to be more accurate than other frameworks,on average,albeit with higher computational costs and.convergence d.fficulties,while GGA is a feasible choice for“quick”and.qualitative”Em ***,we quantify.the sensitivity.of Em with ad.ing uniform background.charge and.or the climbing image approximation in solid.electroly.es,and.the Hubbard.U correction in *** find.ngs will improve the quality.of Em pred.ctions which will enable id.ntify.ng better materials for energy.storage applications.

The persistence and.performance (growth promoting potential) of green fluorescent protein (gfp) marked.Azotobacter chroococcum strain ABR 4G were stud.ed.in sterilized.and.unsterilized.wheat rhizospheric soil. The gfp was integrated.via Tn 5 transposition into A. chroococcum chromosome and.the resultant gfp marked.colonies were id.ntified.by.green fluorescent emission und.r UV light. The gfp was stably.maintained.in A. chroococcum and.the gfp insertion had.no apparent ad.erse effect on the growth promoting properties of the marked.soil isolate ABR 4G. The growth promoting properties (nitrogen fixation, ammonia excretion, phosphate solubilization and.IAA prod.ction) of the parent soil isolate and.the gfp marked.strain were found.to be almost the same. All the quantitative wheat plant traits were significantly.influenced.by.inoculation of A. chroococcum ABR 4G strain in sterilized.and.unsterilized.soil. Inoculated.bacterial counts increased.grad.ally.in wheat rhizosphere, reached.maximum on 60 th d.and.d.clined.on 80 th d. Fertility.levels also affected.survival of marked.strain and.the survival was comparable in sterilized.and.unsterilized.soil.
