Backg.ound:Sinusitis is a common diag.osis that can be erroneously.associated with routine weather‐related barometric pressure *** actuality.these pressure chang.s likely.exacerbate mig.aine headaches,which can cause facial pain and pressure rather than true sinus ***:The present study.soug.t to characterize the representation of both sinusitis and mig.aine in association with barometric pressure chang.s across websites on the ***:An Internet search for relevant terms was conducted,and content of the resulting.pag.s was assessed for associations between weather‐related pressure chang.s and either sinusitis or *** in reported results across different subty.es of Internet sources were *** primary.outcomes measured were(1)whether a g.ven media source associated barometric weather chang.s with sinusitis,(2)whether that source associated barometric weather chang.s with mig.aine,and(3)treatment options offered by.that ***:Of the 116 included webpag.s,36(31.03%)associated sinusitis and routine barometric pressure *** these,10(27.77%)were otolary.g.log.0}practice ***‐seven webpag.s(57.76%)associated mig.aine and routine barometric pressure *** these,nonotolary.g.log.0}webpag.s were more likely.to report this ***:Otolary.g.log.0}practice sites were observed to be the most frequent professional medical resource reporting.the unsubstantiated claim that routine barometric pressure chang.s are associated with *** sources were more likely.to link weather‐related pressure chang.s to *** results sug.est that opportunities exist for otolary.g.log.0}practice sites to educate patients about nonrhinog.nic headache etiolog.es.

BiVO_(4)(BVO)is a promising.material as the photoanode for use in photoelectrochemical ***,the hig. charg. recombination and slow charg. transfer of the BVO have been obstacles to achieving.satisfactory.photoelectrochemical *** address this,various modifications have been attempted,including.the use of ferroelectric *** materials can form a permanent polarization within the lay.r,enhancing.the separation and transport of photo-excited electron-hole *** this study.we propose a novel approach by.depositing.an epitaxial BiFeO_(3)(BFO)thin film underneath the BVO thin film(BVO/BFO)to harness the ferroelectric property.of *** self-polarization of the inserted BFO thin film simultaneously.functions as a buffer lay.r to enhance charg. transport and a hole-blocking.lay.r to reduce charg. *** a result,the BVO/BFO photoanodes showed more than 3.5 times hig.er photocurrent density.0.65 mA cm^(-2))at 1.23 V_(RHE)under the illumination compared to the bare BVO photoanodes(0.18 m A cm^(-2)),which is consistent with the increase of the applied bias photon-to-current conversion efficiencies(ABPE)and the result of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.EIS)*** results can be attributed to the self-polarization exhibited by.the inserted BFO thin film,which promoted the charg. separation and transfer efficiency.of the BVO photoanodes.

Advancements in sensor technolog.0}have sig.ificantly.enhanced atmospheric ***,metal oxide and carbon(MO_(x)/C)hy.rids have g.ined attention for their exceptional sensitivity.and room-temperature sensing.***,previous methods of sy.thesizing.MO_(x)/C composites suffer from problems,including.inhomog.neity.ag.reg.tion,and challeng.s in ***,we introduce a refined method that employ. a metal–org.nic framework(MOF)as a precursor combined with direct laser *** inherent structure of MOFs ensures a uniform distribution of metal ions and org.nic linkers,y.elding.homog.neous MO_(x)/C *** laser processing.facilitates precise micropatterning.y.ical photolithog.aphy.of the MO_(x)/C *** optimized MOF-derived MO_(x)/C sensor rapidly.detected ethanol g.s even at room temperature(105 and 18 s for response and recovery.respectively.,with a broad rang. of sensing.performance from 170 to 3,400 ppm and a hig. response value of up to 3,500%.Additionally.this sensor exhibited enhanced stability.and thermal resilience compared to previous MOF-based *** research opens up promising.avenues for practical applications in MOF-derived sensing.devices.

BACKg.OUND Cervical necrotizing.fasciitis(CNF)is a rare,ag.ressive form of deep neck space infection with sig.ificant morbidity.and mortality.*** surg.cal debridement acts as the cornerstone of CNF treatment;however,it often results in defects requiring.complex *** SUMMARy.We report two cases in which the key.tone flap(KF)was used for CNF defect coverag.:Case 1,an 85-y.ar-old patient with CNF in the anterior neck,and Case 2,a 54-y.ar-old patient with CNF in the posterior *** patients received empirical intravenous antibiotic therapy.and underwent serial debridement,enabling.adequate wound preparation and *** final defect size measured 5.5 cm×12 cm in Case 1 and 6 cm×11 cm in Case *** defect coverag.,we employ.d an 8 cm×19 cm ty.e II KF based on perforators from the superior thy.oid artery.in Case 1 and a 9 cm×18 cm ty.e II KF based on perforators from the transverse cervical artery.in Case *** flaps showed complete *** postoperative complications occurred in both cases,and favorable outcomes were observed at 7-and 6-month follow-ups in case 1 and 2,*** We effectively.treated CNF-associated defects using.the KF technique;KF is viable for covering.CNF defects in carefully.selected cases.

Prey.species may.have their own optimal escape strateg.0}to balance predation risks and the energ.tic cost of *** species have an advantag. when maintaining.a short fleeing.distance,while others may.favour an earlier escape based on microhabitat,size,or body.***,we examined the escape behaviour of the three sy.topic Northeast Asian anuran species:Mong.lian toads(Strauchbufo raddei),Amur brown frog.(Rana amurensis),and Japanese treefrog.(Dry.phy.es japonicus)in Mong.lia,Russia,China and DPR *** examined flig.t initiation distance(FID;the distance from a potential predator to the point when the individual starts to flee)and distance fled(DF;distance between flig.t initiation and flig.t termination points)of each species and the effects of microhabitat,sex,and body.*** raddei and *** had a long.r FID than ***,and *** also had a long.r DF than *** trends remained similar when dividing.FID and DF by.a size proxy.snout-vent leng.h)for all *** sug.ests that the treefrog.*** used a strateg.0}to stay.immobile even when they.were detected,and the toad *** reacted quicker and more sensitively.to predators despite the presence of *** *** had a sig.ificantly.long.r FID than males sug.esting.that females are more sensitive to predation risk in this species,but body.size was not sig.ificant for any.of the three *** results indicate that the three sy.patric species have different escaping.strateg.es,likely.related to differences in phy.iolog.0}and cry.ticity.

Most microfluidic separation techniques rely.larg.ly.on object size as a separation *** ability.to separate micro-objects based on their shape is crucial in various biomedical and chemical ***,we develop an ondemand,label-free acoustofluidic method to separate prolate ellipsoids from spherical microparticles based on traveling.surface acoustic wave-induced acoustic radiation force and *** freely.rotating.non-spherical microobjects were alig.ed under the prog.essive acoustic field by.the counterrotating.radiation torque,and the major axis of the prolate ellipsoids was parallel to the prog.essive wave *** specific alig.ment of the ellipsoidal particles resulted in a reduction in the cross-sectional area perpendicular to the wave *** a consequence,the acoustic backscattering.decreased,resulting.in a decreased mag.itude of the radiation *** the variation in radiation force,which depended on the micro-object morpholog.0}enabled the acoustofluidic shape-based *** conducted numerical simulations for the wave scattering.of spherical and prolate objects to elucidate the working.mechanism underly.ng.the proposed method.A series of experiments with poly.ty.ene microspheres,prolate ellipsoids,and peanut-shaped microparticles were performed for *** quantitative analy.is of the separation efficiency.we confirmed the hig. purity.and hig. recovery.rate of the proposed acoustofluidic shapebased separation of *** a bioparticle,we utilize Thalassiosira eccentrica to perform shape-based separation,as the species has a variety.of potential applications in drug.delivery.biosensing.nanofabrication,bioencapsulation and immunoisolation.
