Today the developed yarn muscles or actuators still cannot satisfy the requirements of working in high-temperature *** resistivity is highly needed in aerospace and industrial protection ***,an artificial muscle with high-temperature tolerance is prepared using carbon nanotube(CNT)wrapped poly(p-phenylene benzobisoxazole)(PBO)composite yarns.A thermal twisting method was utilized to reorientate the stiff PBO molecular chains into a uniform and twist-stable coiled *** CNT/PBO composite yarn muscle generates reversible contractile strokes up to 18.9%under 5.4 MPa tension and outputs 1.3 kJ kg^(-1) energy *** contrast to previous actuators,which are normally oper-ated at room temperatures,the CNT/PBO composite yarn muscles can work at ambient temperatures up to 300℃ with high contractile stroke and long-term stability.A bionic inchworm robot,a deployable structure,and smart textiles driven by the high-temperature-tolerant yarn muscles were demonstrated,showing the promise as a soft actuator towards high-temperature environment applications.

VPD modifies CO_(2)fertilization effect on tomato plants via abscisic acid and jasmonic acid signaling pathways

Atmospheric CO_(2)concentration is elevated globally,which has“CO_(2)fertilization effects”and potentially improves plant photosynthesis,yield,and *** the beneficial effect of CO_(2)fertilization being modulated by vapor pressure deficit(VPD),the underlying mechanism is highly *** the present study,the potential roles of hormones in determining CO_(2)fertilization effects under contrasting high and low VPD conditions were investigated by integrated physiological and transcriptomic *** CO_(2)fertilization effects were offset under high VPD conditions and were constrained by plant water stress and photosynthetic CO_(2)*** VPD induced a large passive water driving force,which disrupted the water balance and consequently caused plant water *** water potential,turgor pressure,and hydraulic conductance declined under high VPD *** physiological evidence combined with transcriptomic analyses demonstrated that abscisic acid(ABA)and jasmonic acid(JA)potentially acted as drought-signaling molecules in response to high VPD *** foliar ABA and JA content triggered stomatal closure to prevent excessive water loss under high VPD stress,which simultaneously increased the diffusion resistance for CO_(2)uptake from atmosphere to leaf intercellular *** VPD also significantly increased mesophyll resistance for CO_(2)transport from stomatal cavity to fixation site inside *** chloroplast“sink”CO_(2)availability was constrained by stomatal and mesophyll resistance under high VPD stress,despite the atmospheric“source”CO_(2)concentration being ***,ABA-and JA-mediated drought-resistant mechanisms potentially modified the beneficial effect of CO_(2)fertilization on photosynthesis,plant growth,and yield *** study provides valuable information for improving the utilization efficiency of CO_(2)fertilization and a better understanding of the physiological processes.

针对5154A铝镁合金线随着冷压变形量的增加,其抗拉强度和屈服强度增加,但伸长率下降的问题,采取退火处理改善5154A铝镁合金线材的组织和力学性能。采用X射线衍射、扫描电镜及综合功能测试仪对不同处理态线材的组织和性能进行了研究。结果表明:退火可以使线材的柱状晶减小并退化,使线材的晶粒得到了细化,且在退火温度为230℃时,5154A铝镁合金线材的综合力学性能最佳。

为研究隧道穿越不良地质带的结构响应特性,以福宜高速公路阳宗隧道工程为依托,设计了穿越不良地质带隧道结构响应规律模型实验平台,实现了几种不同类型不良地质带工况下隧道工程缩尺模拟实验。基于该平台,详细介绍了所有系统的结构及功能,针对4种不良地质带工况制定了相应实验方案,并以断层破碎带作为典型不良地质案例,演示了模型实验全过程,分析了隧道穿越断层破碎带区域的结构响应规律,最后将实验结果与数值模拟结果进行对比,验证了模型实验的有效性。

The existence of outliers can seriously influence the analysis of variational data *** control allows us to effectively eliminate or absorb these outliers to produce better analysis *** particular,variational quality control(VarQC) can process gray zone outliers and is thus broadly used in variational data assimilation *** this study,governing equations are derived for two VarQC algorithms that utilize different contaminated Gaussian distributions(CGDs): Gaussian plus flat distribution and Huber norm *** such,these VarQC algorithms can handle outliers that have non-Gaussian ***,these VarQC algorithms are implemented in the Global/Regional Assimilation and PrEdiction System(GRAPES) model-level three-dimensional variational data assimilation(m3 DVAR) *** using artificial observations indicate that the VarQC method using the Huber distribution has stronger robustness for including outliers to improve posterior analysis than the VarQC method using the Gaussian plus flat ***,real observation experiments show that the distribution of observation analysis weights conform well with theory,indicating that the application of VarQC is effective in the GRAPES m3 DVAR *** case study and longperiod data assimilation experiments show that the spatial distribution and amplitude of the observation analysis weights are related to the analysis increments of the mass field(geopotential height and temperature).Compared to the control experiment,VarQC experiments have noticeably better posterior mass ***,the VarQC method using the Huber distribution is superior to the VarQC method using the Gaussian plus flat distribution,especially at the middle and lower levels.

Severe influenza infections are often associated with the excessive induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines,which is also referred to as"cytokine storms".Several studies have shown that cytokine storms are directly associated with influenzainduced fatal acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress *** to the narrow administration window,current antiviral therapies are often *** efforts to use immunomodulatory agents alone or in combination with antiviral agents in the treatment of influenza in animal models have resulted in the achievement of protective effects accompanied with reduced cytokine ***,there are no immunomodulatory drugs for influenza available for clinical *** models,despite being ideal to study the anti-inflammatory responses to influenza virus infection,are very costly and ***,there is an urgent need to establish fast and economical screening methods using cellbased models to screen and develop novel immunomodulatory *** this study,we screened seven human cell lines and found that the human monocytic cell U937 supports the replication of different subtypes of influenza viruses as well as the production of the important pro-inflammatory cytokines and was selected to develop the cell-based *** U937 cell model was validated by testing a panel of known antiviral and immunomodulatory agents and screening a drug library consisting of 1280 compounds comprised mostly of FDA-approved *** demonstrated that the U937 cell model is robust and suitable for the high-throughput screening of immunomodulators and antivirals against influenza infection.
